I am not from Springfield, nor am I from Missouri. I was just visiting someone on a whim. It had been over 20 years since I had seen them. Also, it had been over 24 hours since I had a hot chocolate and slept. My travel experience had been less than good, to say the least. I walked up, stumbling, and the pair of attendants greeted me, immediately saw that something was wrong and gave me a hot chocolate. They said no charge. I said no way, I asked if they could break a twenty because I needed change. I tipped them a ten-dollar bill. Thanked them and walked away smiling. They were so nice and made my day, somehow making my interaction with the TSA and airport police fade away slightly, somehow. The counter was clean and well placed. The music was calming, and both attendants were nice and friendly. I say come and have some. read more

I've had this experience too many times. I'm not going back! There are too many options for coffee around town. I visited Travelers today at 11:45 and wasn't even greeted with a hello, just an unhappy stare. I said hello, nothing. So I placed my order, then had to ask if the drink set on the counter was mine. I am a business owner and would not tolerate this type of customer service. When I told some friends they said they have had the same experience. read more

Im sorry to say this, because this place is just wasting space for the next actually decent coffe spot... I cant recommend going here. If you do come here Itd be more worthwhile to go to the starbucks inside the store nextdoor. Now that starbucks has good coffee! This place just lacks effort, lacks care and passion, and is just awful at best It might be decent if the workers put in some effort, and the manager took the time to train their employees right, but it looks like they are very short on those resources. read more

I don't live in Springfield, but I've visited constantly for years. And I've never taken a trip without at least one stop at Traveller's House. They're consistent, which is only a virtue when you're good to begin with. And it has ALWAYS been good. First of all, it's a coffee shop. So how's the coffee? It's solid. Not the best, objectively I've had better coffee from some of the downtown competition. But it's made with its own degree of love and passion that results in quality. A cup of joy rather than a regular old cup of joe. The baristas have all been incredibly nice, rivaling that of Chick Fil A service if not topping it. I've also met the owners a few times, who are humble and always try to invest in their employees and customers alike. I've been surprised that the owner has recognized me a few visits in a row with months in between. It's a genuine place that makes me feel more welcome than perhaps any coffee shop I've experienced. There's also good food, pastries, and some creative drinks such as the "arrive late" and "arrive early". They're happy to make accommodations and customizations as well. The vibe is cozy. Still leaning towards cafe, but there's a few cushioned arm chairs and a couch as well, and if it's a cool day you may be blessed by the fireplace. Always a warm welcome. The music has sometimes been Christian or faith-inspired, sometimes just smooth jazz or acoustic. Today in particular, it's Michael Bublé. No complaints there. WiFi is somewhat of a weak point. But it's a fantastic place to meet up with people, enjoy a date, or simply have some you-time. So long as you don't need intense internet connectivity. I'd give the coffee and food a solid 4 stars. But the experience as a whole is easily 5. Heart and soul shan't be overlooked. read more

The 12oz iced latte was basically a cup of milk with a slight taste of dirt. Really so bad. I ordered another shot even though I knew it would be bad and asked for a larger cup to combine it all and was given the same size cup. I asked for a larger cup and that was too complicated for the workers so I just worked with two cups. Bummer spot. read more

All the pastries looked tasty but a touch expensive. The service was great. The girl behind the counter was very polite, patient and helpful. The ambiance was a touch stuffy and seemed more geared towards the elites, which is fine but limiting. Certainly a place to hang out and drink some coffee. The coffee was awful. I've tried a few different orders but all of them tasted terrible. If you're more concerned with appearance and perception over taste and quality coffee, this is the place for you. read more

I don't get it. This place is very popular, but the food is average at best, limited, and slightly pricey. There are no salads and def. not a healthy option place. But - this place does have a conference room and lots of indoor seating, It's cute inside, but no different than any other coffee shop with non-padded seats, but there are couches. I had to go out of my way to hang out here and unless I'm in the neighborhood - I couldn't justify it. They do have lactose free options for drinks and lots of drink options that include bottomless coffee. The trick is to get lots of their yummy drinks, but pass on their food. There is limited outdoor seatings, but a few tables. All and all, good place to pick up coffee if you live in this hood and get your loyalty points/annual membership. read more

Husband and I had to work remote today down in Springfield. Needed a good place to set up shop. Found Travellers across the street from my childhood church in the shopping center that used to house my beloved Movie Gallery when I was a kid. Nice space. Cozy, yet professional if a little drafty. Food was good. Husband, who is a coffee snob, really likes their Sumatra blend of coffee. I chose to do a pot of their vanilla chai. Impressed they had cast iron pots instead of ceramic. Those babies are not cheap. I have a feeling we are leaving here with a bag of beans to grind at home when we get back up to KC. I'm glad to see this area of Springfield building up. When I lived here, the accomplishment of the decade was actually getting 60 highway built all the way west to Republic. Now they've got a thriving small business industry like this place. And it's close to my parents which means we will definitely be returning. read more

A really great little coffee shop with a cool vibe to it . So we got there about 8 minutes before closing and they were still very friendly and didn't act put out. My cappuccino was delicious... I like the roast level of the beans. My wife had a snicker beverage that was too sweet for me but she loved it. They have a priority access club that I plan to join soon that offers some free coffee , mercy and discounts too. All in all a great place for a great cup of coffee read more

Really great place relaxed environment. They have little nooks with real cushioned furniture. I wish there was more options. All focused around gas fireplace which is nice and warm. This coffee and tea house is probably the best thing that I have found in Springfield. I have been looking for a new tea shop to sit and relax in and that is exactly what this is. Lots of good tea choices and a very relaxed atmosphere. There is no judgement whenever you don't know much about tea. They even had the tea leave in glass containers on the counter so that you can smell it and see if you like it. What a cool system! I also got a 9grain breakfast bagel with bacon and that was just the most delicious breakfast that I've had in a while. I'm not just boasting this because I just got done eating and liked it, it really is a really cool place to eat breakfast and not feel any pressure. On a side note, I'm also very antisocial and people make me nervous. I don't usually like trying new restaurants because of the fear of interacting and crowds but I went on a Saturday morning and the crowd was small and the staff were super friendly and helpful! read more

I recently came to Traveller's Coffee House with my brother while he was in town from college. I heard about their delicious Americanos from a friend and decided to give it a go. The barista who took our order was not only very friendly but incredibly knowledgable on his coffee. My brothers girlfriend and I were deciding between and iced Americano or an iced coffee and the barista explained the different flavors and nuances that each one would have, which was very helpful and made the decision easier! The iced coffee was very tasty and had a sweeter, earthy, cherry flavor. They also have lattes, cappuccinos, affagatos, pour overs, steamers, teas & drip coffees made fresh daily; pretty much anything your coffee heart desires they will make it for you! When I found out they got their espresso and coffee from the "Roasterie" it got me excited because I used to live in Kansas City, so it's like a piece of home for me. Now onto the ambiance of Traveller's. This place is very warm, welcoming and peaceful inside. Each nook has its own unique character and there's a corner for everyone. Whether you are studying, reading a cozy book, doing homework or meeting up with a family or friend, Traveller's is very accommodating for just about any occasion. The hubby and I LOVE coffee and made a list of local coffee houses we wanted to check out while in Springfield. Travellers did not disappoint. Hubby had the dark roast and I had the medium roast. The barista was super sweet and was able to accommodate my love for steamed almond milk in my coffee. I have never had a good latte here, not once. They are bland and tasteless. I have enjoyed the dark roast (# 1 dark roast in Springfield according to the Springfield Coffee Fest 2016).
