We have an older Country Coach Intrigue that was having some air leveling issues. After we called a few others that didn't sound very interested in working on it, we contacted Johnathan at Echols RV. Johnathan came out and inspected the coach, diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and made the necessary repairs on a Saturday at our shop where the coach is kept. After three trips out, several hours of his time and all the leveling valves replaced we had a coach that operated as it should again. Now comes the fun part, the bill! It started out pretty well at first. The tech came out on time and provided up options in replacing the converter on our RV. During installation the tech turned on the new converter and a power surge fried our big screen TV and the microwave/convection oven. The company quickly replaced the TV and sent the oven in to be repaired and returned and installed it. We understood about the TV and oven and were happy how quickly they dealt with it. The tech's boss offered to come by and mount the new TV for free for our inconvenience. We were extremely happy with that customer service and said yes. To this day no one has shown up nor answered any of our messages regarding this. Now, present day. We have attempted to contact this business and the tech we had worked with and have not received any calls or texts back from anyone at all. We are very disappointed with this company and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

***UPDATE*** I waited a couple of weeks before posting this. I heard back from Johnathan the day after my original posting, and he has in fact decided NOT to send me my payment- because of this review. I informed him that when I sent the trailer's paperwork it was in good faith, knowing that as soon as the documents were out of my possession that I would loose any leverage for being paid, and all I had left were reviews. I offered to remove reviews when I was paid, per our agreement, and that it was his turn to show good faith. I have not heard back yet. I have resigned myself to the belief that he never intended to pay me and I have to find other matters of recourse. This is so NOT what I wanted my 2019 to start out like... DO NOT USE! Yes, I'll admit I'm upset but the facts are this; I purchased an Airstream that needed a frame repair. I had Johnathan come out and give me a price quote and then had it towed to his facility. It was a rather extensive job and it was late spring, so it was the start of the busy season for his business, so he would get to it when he had a chance. It's fine, I wasn't in a rush. Fast forward several unreturned phone calls and ALMOST 24 MONTHS later, and I am contacted out of the blue by Johnathan, saying that my trailer was/had been finished, and was ready to be picked up. Unfortunately, do to family circumstances, my financial situation had changed. I was also surprised that my trailer was still around as I thought the business had shuttered and everything had been sold off... Long story short, Johnathan and I reached an agreement to sell the trailer (at a loss for both of us), and he would send me a check for my portion. Trailer sold, I overnighted the paperwork. I would not recommend this company for repair of RV air conditioners. I actually wouldn't recommend this company for any repairs. They took our $165.00 they require just to show up and we haven't heard from them since. They have not contacted us and obviously have not returned any of our original payment. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and they tried to deal with them, but the BBB just let me know that they didn't respond to them either. Their rating will suffer even more as a result. Unfortunately, the parts I needed for repair did not arrive till the day before I needed my RV back for a 6 day trip. Echol's RV worked well past close of business to fix my trailer and square me away for my family trip. In my opinion they went far above and beyond what I could have expected anyone to do for me. Wow - what a great experience! My water heater in my 2015 travel trailer quit working. I checked the fuses, the breaker, the thermo cutoff, and the switches for both electric and gas operation and I could not determine the cause of the issue. After reading many raving reviews, I called Echols on 10/30/17 and as per their voice message greeting, I also emailed them for a faster response. I received an email from Jonathan Echols later that evening telling me if the only issue was the water heater, I could just bring it in anytime and they would likely be able to repair it the same day. I was really impressed that they could even get me in, as most places (including Folsom Lake RV, where I bought the rig) want to schedule you out at least a month before you can bring it in, then it's another 2-3 weeks before they can look at your rig. Anyway, I brought my trailer into their shop yesterday morning at about 10:30 and I received a call from Jonathan at about 4:00 PM to tell me they had located the issue, resolved the problem, and I could pick it up anytime. They would be there til 10 PM working on RVs during this busy season. The problem: A rodent had apparently made it's way into the rig and chewed through the wiring harness that goes to the water heater circuit board. The total cost for diagnosis and repair was only 1 hour of labor. I was very pleased they could get me in so quickly, locate and repair the issue, and then charge me a fair rate for their work. Even thought these guys are buried with work and trying to get everyone taken care of in a timely manner, everyone at Echols RV was very accommodating, answered any questions I had, and did it all with smile. Beware of this place!! I took my RV to them to have some repairs and inspect it as I had newly purchased it. After 5 days it was stolen at their facility. Not only did they charge me over $1,000 for the work they had completed, their insurance wouldn't cover my trailer and I had to pay the deductible for my insurance! I took my RV to Echols RV repair after both of my right side tires blew out on the freeway, it did so much damage under and to the side of the trailer I couldn't believe it. After trying to get it looked at it by some repair shops I called Johnathan and he looked at the damage and wrote up the quote, everything go approved and the work began. I've been on the schedule for over a month to get my RV air conditioning replaced today. Which is like over 1000 dollar repair! I live on a military base and made sure to tell them when I first called over a month ago that whoever came out would need a valid drivers license and need to get a pass. Then I get a text , his morning , the day they were supposed to be here, at the time they were supposed to show up, that they need to reschedule because they just now realized that their ID is expired. So pissed. Just ridiculous and Super unprofessional. I will obviously Never use them , and will steer everyone I know on base away from using them. read more

Great service and communication. Brought in my Class A in after a tire blowout. It tore up my hot water tank and heater. I was going to use the RV soon after but not enough time for them to get the job done. They were willing to work with me to get me up and running until I could bring it back for the complete repair. It seems difficult to find a RV service shop that provides great service and customer service - I found it with Echols RV Repair. It is a small shop but John is quick to respond to telephone calls and is easy to work with. When I had a recent issue with my Class A he scheduled me quickly, worked with my Extended Warranty company and kept me informed of the progress. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it the same day! I've had simpler problems sit at other shops days/weeks and still not be fixed properly. He has great customer service and is timely on his repairs. He also isn't a rip off artist, or a salesman like other shops I've encountered. He's straight forward. Traveling home from Oregon this year we blew a tire on our 5th wheel which tore it up pretty good. after talking with our insurance company we brought the trailer to John over at Echols RV repair, John looked the trailer over and said it was no problem to repair, The biggest problem was getting the correct decals which took about 7 weeks. No big deal we were done camping for the year. I just picked it up and you would never know it was ever damaged. Before I left I asked John to look at the other side because the lower skirting has always been loose, John said it was missing a brace which he repaired on the spot at no charger. Longtime RV owners, we first visited Echols RV Service for a minor repair. The service was efficient and positive. We were pleased, and decided to schedule our RV for more comprehensive repairs later on. We dropped off our RV for repairs on November 1, 2017, and picked up our RV on November 29. That is when our horror began. On November 29, we pulled into Echols RV Service around 3pm to pick up our RV. Our RV was parked with the door wide open and facing Roseville Road. We assumed that someone was still working inside, but there was no one present. We do not know how long our RV was left unattended while parked with the door facing a busy street. After visiting the office, we accompanied an employee to inspect the work that had been done. During the inspection, the employee, my husband, and I all noticed an extremely foul odor inside the RV. I assumed it was just strong body odor, and hoped it would clear after a thorough cleaning. The employee who accompanied us on the inspection was helpful, even repairing a wood panel in the second bathroom during the inspection. We paid the bill of $1019.20, drove home, and on the drive back again commented that the inside of the RV really smelled terrible. My husband opened the door to the first bathroom (which we had not opened during the inspection, as this bathroom had no previous problems). The odor was horrendous. He lifted the toilet lid, and found the source of the stench: the toilet was filled with stool and stuffed with toilet paper. My husband flushed the toilet, and called Mr. Echols to report what he had found. Mr. Echols spoke to him directly, and apologized. After flushing the toilet once, there was still stool stuck to the toilet, and the bowl was black, discolored, and stained from where the stool had been. I retrieved my cleaning supplies, wiped the remaining stool out with paper towels and proceeded to clean the toilet, trying to remove the black stains with chemicals and abrasive cleaning tools. Unfortunately, I could not get the stains out of the toilet bowl. The dirty bathroom was, unfortunately, only the beginning of our problem. At 4:45pm, my husband opened one of our storage bins to retrieve the wheel block to secure our RV, and learned that his two large tool cases were missing. Echols RV Service closes at 6pm, so we drove back to report the theft. Mr. Echols again apologized. We informed him that we would be doing a full inspection of the RV the next morning, since the shop was soon closing. The next day, we learned that the tool boxes were not the only missing items in our RV. In total, we lost $4,609.78 in tools, home appliances and other missing items, while our RV was in the possession of Echols RV Service. As we are longtime RV owners, we know to always remove most of our items from the inside of the RV before sending our RV in for repairs, and secure them in the locked storage bins outside. These bins were all locked when we left our RV with Echols RV Service on November 1, and they were all locked when we picked up the RV on November 29. None of the locks were broken. During this time, the keys for these bins were in the possession of the repair shop. On November 30 we returned to Echols RV Service. Mr. Echols was not present, so we spoke with Tim, an employee. He suggested we e-mail Mr. Echols. We filed a police report, and e-mailed Mr. Echols to request his insurance information. On December 6, we finally heard back from Mr. Echols via e-mail. He informed us that he would not be contacting his insurance, claiming that "it is your choice to leaving belongings in your RV, also signed the work order when dropping off that states we are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen personal property." He again apologized, informed us he would not reimburse us for any of our missing items, and instead offered a fresh water maintenance, a 12volt maintenance and an exterior/interior detail. In total, these services would compensate less than 20% of the value of the missing items. The work order Mr. Echols referred to in his e-mail included the following clause, which all customers are required to sign: "I... agree that you are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicle or articles left in vehicle in case of... theft...." When I consulted with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office regarding this matter, I was informed that, while all customers are indeed required to sign this waiver, repair shops nonetheless have a responsibility to properly secure all property under their care. That so much property could go missing under the care of Echols RV Service - when only they had access to the locked bins - makes it difficult to believe that the company did not act with extreme negligence in this situation. We will no longer patronize Echols RV Service in the future. For the sake of your personal belongings, we encourage that other RV owners think twice before taking their business to this establishment. read more

Our class A diesel pusher motorhome was actually stolen, wrecked and everything stolen. We were devastated. We did some research to try to find the best place to do the repairs on our motorhome. It was in perfect condition before it was stolen and Jonathan and his crew did such an amazing job we couldn't even tell anything ever happened, it even looks better than before. I had an issue with the slide on my RV. I checked around and called many shops in the area and all of them were booked over a month out. When I described the issue with Echols over the phone, he said bring it in and if it's what he thinks it is, he would take care of it that same week. They not only fixed the issue, they addressed the root cause that would have eventually caused another failure down the road and did it all for a reasonable price. I found that they would often not pick up the phone (they are very busy), but they would return messages in a timely manner and I do not see that as a detractor. We just purchased a fifth wheel and wanted to add solar. We purchased a system from Renogy and Johnathan and his staff did a great job installing it. I took in a 2017 Toyota Highlander with the very latest safety features to have a brake controller installed along with bringing in my 2003 Fleetwood Trailer to have it serviced and the wheel bearings repacked. Installing the break controller turned out to be a very difficult problem for them. This was a new state of the art vehicle with complex systems combined with multiple electrical issues in the trailer that caused malfunctions in the highlander self test. They worked with Toyota and spent much time diagnosing the trailer systems; much of the problem was caused by a short in the trailer wiring, a bad diode, and bad batteries. They figured everything out and got it all working properly. I couldn't be more pleased with the effort the put into it and the results they delivered, all at a reasonable price. I'd recommend this shop to anyone. One note, this is a family shop and everyone is working (no one to man the office phone), so make sure you get a cell phone number for checking up on the status of your trailer/vehicle. read more

We had an awesome experience at Echols RV repair. Customer service was exceptional, Jonathan was professional and so accommodating. We knew what was going on with our trailer at all times. He also gave us options and saved us some money not like some of these places that try and nickel and dime you. Along with that he ordered us a part and put it on for free. "STUFF HAPPENS", right? It happens to me too. I was prepping for a trip and discovered the refrigerator won't work. I was leaving in 36 hours and did not want to cancel the trip. I did as much trouble shooting as I could before I called Johnathan at Echols RV Repair. Johnathan listened to my story and thought he knew what might be causing the problem. He told me to bring it in in the morning. I arrived and Johnathan was not there. No worries, there were two very capable men ready to fix my trailer. Perhaps Johnathan briefed them the night before. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about an hour. During that hour they taught me a few things about operating and maintaining Norcold units. They also took time to explain how the unit works, which circuits, relays and valves do what on the refrigeration. This kind of service is almost gone from our planet. The bathroom door in my motorhome would not stay shut while driving. Took the rv to LaMesa in Davis twice to get it fixed but no such luck. At this point I thought the door was going to have to be taken off and realigned. Frustrated, I surfed the internet and found Echols RV Repair. After some research decided to give them a try. OMG! I was planning on waiting for at least a half hour but I did not even get to the third page of a magazine and the guy comes in and says the door is fixed. Asked how much, and he said it is on them. On our last night in Sacramento, our 2014 Class A RV lost electrical power in the rig. We had reservations at our next stop, so we took a chance and drove by Echols RV. If you have had to deal with any RV repair facility lately you are aware of the frustration with getting your coach scheduled with them for a repair and then the extended time it takes to actually get the work completed. Over this past weekend my skylight broke in my motorhome causing a massive leak during a downpour. I was unable to actually talk directly with any service personnel at a couple of my local RV dealerships to find out how long it would take to get the coach in to have it fixed. I am currently over thirty days out in trying to get a part replaced with a major RV service company on another issue, so I thought I would look locally for a repair shop that could replace my skylight. I found Echols RV Repair by searching the internet, it had good reviews so I sent them an email last Sunday afternoon explaining my problem and asked if they were interested in doing the work for me. To my surprise Johnathan Echols (the owner) returned my email late Sunday afternoon and told me to give him the information on the skylight and he would get back to me with a price on Monday. True to his word Johnathan did get back with me, ordered the part on Tuesday and installed it Today (Wednesday). He personally greeted me when I brought the coach in and had the work done quickly, with only an hour wait. Wow, what service! I will definitely use Echols again to work on my RV.
