In the initial inspection, the attic was 'cleared' by Sherley with a comment stating that 'insulation was always recommended' but otherwise, everything was A-ok. I hired someone to blow insulation into the attic, only to find out that the ductwork was exposed and leaking my cold air into the attic instead of my home. This was all visible and obvious - however Sherley did not catch this prior to finalizing the home sale. His words were: "My wife is a realtor - and she was tired of having sales drop. So I do what I can to really look at the home." At the time, I thought it was a weird comment, but figured he meant it in a way that meant he was trying to be honest and help the buyer. What it really meant was that he only looked at the superficial issues like the door not closing completely and the sink pipe not draining correctly and did his best to make the sale go through. He completely missed the attic, resulting in a repair that will cost me 5K just 12 days after I purchased this home. If he just looked through the attic hatch he would quickly realize that the ducts were missing insulation and that the air was significantly colder in the attic than in the house because of duct leakage. I really hate writing poor reviews, because I honestly believe Sherley is a good guy. However as an inspector, I would have to say please look elsewhere and don't let this experience happen to you.

EC Inspections got great reviews so I setup an online request. Eric called me snd setup the inspection based on the Lennar construction manager's availability. I received a Docusign link to fill in the address and payment along with legal stuff. The day of the inspection, Eric arrived promptly at 8:30 am and it is such a comprehensive inspection that it takes almost until noon to finish. We were not in attendance based on Lennars preference. Probably before 3 or 4 pm, the 48 page report was ready. It broke the issues into major, minor and informational categories. Complete with video, pictures and detailed verbiage on each item. Also infrared photos of hot water from the sinks, showers and heater output. So cool. All in all, a superb job well done. Eric does a great job communicating and answering questions re his work. As a side note, Lennar implemented each of his suggestions and commented on how well documented and organized Eric was. Most importantly, EC Home Inspections is a veteran owned business. I thank Eric for his bravery and sacrifice. I highly recommend EC Home Inspections.

I had informed him that I needed my cabinets preserved because I was selling my home and worried that the cabinet color were no longer available since they were installed about 9 years ago. He said it could be done and made sure the cabinets were saved from the water damages. His construction team, Kevin and his crew were quick to restore the island once the water on the island was dry enough to work on. They were professional and cleared up the drywall debris after the island was completed. Rex and Kevin made sure to let me know that they wanted me to be happy with their service and that the island was fixed to my satisfaction. They take pride of their work and it shows!
