edit: see below for original complaint about call back time. i bought the very popular $40 yelp deal, so this review is specifically for that. i will first say the customer service was very good after i was called. the callback was very thorough, and when i arrived for my appointment, i was greeted with professionalism and courtesy. i got follow up calls before and after, so i will say the customer service almost bends over backwards to be nice to you. my car came out immaculate. i did opt for the interior cleaning for $40 (more on that below), which covered an "extra" charge for black cars (due to some special treatment for black paint?). the inside of my car has never been that clean. they even conditioned my leather seats and shampooed my carpets. my air ducts smell great when i turn on the a/c. the outside was shiny like new. i had some previous scratches and dings on my car which were still there, just much cleaner, but the yelp deal wasn't for a full detail i don't think. so i did ding one star because of the 1.5 day callback time (below), and the fact that i felt i was upsold for an interior cleaning (which was given more incentive by the black car charge). in reality, it shouldn't take $40 to clean an interior (although it was amazing). i was given a very reasonable and honest explanation, which is why i did opt for it in the end. if a $40 interior clean as an add-on was mentioned in the yelp deal, i don't think i would be complaining. in any case, this place is amazing for an eco-friendly and very small production in the back of a gas station. i would recommend just for the quality of service alone, just take note they are very busy and ensure you get a price breakdown before making an appointment, -------------------------------------------------------------------- original placeholder below: This is a placeholder until i can actually get an appointment at this place. It took an hour and 25 minutes to clean my car. This was after I explained I had another appointment I had to be at in an hour and 10 minutes, which I'd assumed based on all other car washing experiences in my life, would be enough time. After reading all of the reviews, I'd expected it to be an amazing job but turns out cleaning the inside of your car is extra so I was pretty disappointed and won't go back. I have a 2001 Honda CRV. I love her, but I haven't done her right in the 4 1/2 years of ownership. I've lived most of my life without properly caring for my cars in the cosmetic sense. Once upon a time and with the last car I owned, there was a guy who came around to my old workplace and washed and mini detailed our cars, so I took advantage of that service while there. However, after that, my current car only saw a {{cringe}} express automated wash from the Shell Station maybe, and I mean maybe, once a month. I park on the street too, so trees and birds and outdoor sun take a toll on the exterior. Not to mention the interior abuse that my line of work in wardrobe/costumes contributes. I tote and haul and load and unload a lot of cargo. Anyways, I decided it was time to do something nice for my CRV and to find a place I could start having my car cleaned at. I've seen plenty of hand-wash places whilst driving around different neighborhoods (I've gone with a friend to one of these before, where you spend like 10 bucks), but honestly, the idea of taking it to one of these types hasn't ever appealed to me. I'll explain. It always seems like they rush, time is money, right? I understand. And, I also don't care for the way the employees tend to oogle woman. Yelp has always been a good place to help point me in the right direction for food, so I looked up car wash places. Eco Detail popped up, and the idea of a waterless, Eco, reasonably priced, superbly reviewed, and in the neighborhood location, made me super excited to give it a whirl. I phoned ahead, spoke to Javier and was stoked to bring my car in. I'm a baby steps kinda gal, so I decided on the "extended green wash", your basic outside and inside care package. Javier explained that it would take an hour which I thought was plenty long for a quote of merely $35 (4 doors). There's plenty to walk to in the neighborhood, right by the TJ's, I decided to get some coffee at the Coffee Table, about a 7 min walk over. When I returned after an hour and fifteen, Levi, who was working on my car by his lonesome hadn't gotten to the outside of the car yet. He quickly explained that he couldn't allow the inside vacuum and wipe down to just be that (my interior hasn't been touched since my car was purchased, maybe a dust buster vacuum twice in the 4 1/2 yrs). So, he had taken more time in order to to get some stains out and basically ended up doing a mini detail job. Just a glance over his shoulder proved his point, a total difference from when I'd left it. I wasn't in a hurry, so I stayed to chat on the phone with a friend after he pulled a chair for me in the shade. After I got through with my conversation, I chatted with Levi for a while, as he finished up my car, almost 2 hrs after I had initially dropped it off. Customer service makes a huge difference, and these guys are genuinely professional and caring to their clients as well as their workmanship. I'm super impressed, my car got what it deserved and I felt taken care of as a whole. I just wanted to share my experience and will be recommending them to everyone I know, cuz we live in LA and everyone would certainly benefit from Eco Detail's unique service. Had a groupon coupon for Eco Detail. Went to the location on barring ton avenue. It is in a parking lot. The original coupon said that this include 285 $ worth of service. In the parking lot a guy comes up says how much did you pay for the coupon I said 45 $ (well it doesn't matter what I paid!). Then he says for interior he would charge me 40 $. Then another guy shows up he says he will charge me 25 $ for the car and then 90 $ for the interior . I told him that the other guy said 40 $. I was at the point of leaving and get my refund back from group on. Finally he says I will do it at 40 $. I had mixed feeling about leaving the car to some folks in a parking lot and leaving the car keys. But I thought may be I will leave the car and come back in 4 hours ( yes he said 4 hours) I thought may be they do a good job. Long story short not worth the money and the surprising thing was that when I came in the evening to pick the car, the guy gave me his own card in spanish and said he will come home for cars ! seems like an outsourced service to me read more

Excellent, friendly service, and the best auto detail you'll get. My only complaint is that it's hard to get an appointment--you really have to plan a month or two in advance. I went to Yelp to look for car detailing with a very good review. I saw Eco detail with a 4 1/2 stars. I called and talked to Javier. He was so nice and told me that they do complete detail for $280. And I won't be disappointed and it will take 5 to 7 hrs. Wow they are really doing a good job if it will take that long. I asked if they accept credit card and said Yes. Javier even made an appointment for me to have a oil and filter change with Lexus beside their space. I was so happy that I can get 2 services in one place. However, when I dropped by this morning July 24th @ 9AM, Hiram told me that they can accept only cash or checks because their card reader was not working. I let them did the detail because of the rating and the # of hours they will spend to do the job. I told Hiram that maybe by the time I picked up the car the card reader will be up and working. At 10, Lexus called that my oil n filter was done so I told them that detail will be done by Eco. At 1:15pm Hiram called that detail was done and will be ready by 1:30. It took only 3 1/2 hrs. I was surprised. I inspected the car and they don't clean the engine and don't do oil on rubber and leather. Here comes the problem, I want to pay with credit to get points and told Hiram he can do manual transaction. No knowledge about it and so I asked him to call Javier and he won't. I asked for discount and he won't also and then he told me he will give me $5 to make me happy. $5 that's an insult for paying $280 for not a complete detail. While driving home, Javier called me and was so sorry and promised me that next time he will give me 50% off on my next detailing job. Will think about it. I am unhappy client and won't refer to friendsand families. I was not given a receipt and was told the check should be payable to Leanna Sanchez n not Eco Detail. Against my better judgment, I moved into an apartment without a parking spot, leaving my car to the elements and by that, I mean heavy sprinkler action. My car was covered in water spots within 8 months, despite efforts to wipe down my car on a regular basis and getting it detailed at other car washes twice since moving here. Javier explained to me that the water spots were never actually removed at the other places I had been and was part of the reason the damage keeps getting worse. While I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a detail, I also didn't want to spend $150 at a place that wasn't actually going to get the spots out and didn't even provide any other sort of protection beyond wax. And even more than that, I don't want peeling paint within a year or two so I went for it. I invested in a few of their detail options including their ECO Shield Paint Protection for both my primary and secondary vehicle. The secondary vehicle is relatively new to me and hadn't acquired spots yet, but it did come to me with minor scratches. After the treatment, many of the scratches aren't visible and the deeper ones look much smaller. The majority of the water spots were also removed. Javier told me, honestly, after seeing my car that he didn't think he could get them all out, but he and another employee spent a full day doing their best to get close. Both cars look great. And though I spent quite a bit of money, I can't help but think that I got what I paid for. Javier was honest, hard-working, and went above and beyond by coming to where my cars were, and following up with product that we could use to try to maintain the shield better. I will follow up if anything changes, but from what I can tell, Yelp reviewers have been right on about this 5-star company. read more

They are best and opened a location on the westside. Totally waterless, I didn't believe you could get a car clean without a hose. But the apartment building where I live doesn't allow car washing so when I bought a 6 year-old used car, I tried them for a full detail. When they were done it looked completely showroom new. I feel good taking clients out in it where as before it was clearly a older used car but the make and model hasn't changed in years so you can't tell that isn't new. Prices are competitive but not cheap like I've seen from some of the wannabes that work out of the trunk of their car, but the value dollar for dollar at eco detail is the best, really amazing. Now I get my car washed by them every two weeks, and a mini detail every 3 month. My apartment building likes them and has asked them to set up shop in the large parking lot two days a week, as a service to tenants, since they are waterless and do such great work (Barrington and Wilshire, Banderas parking lot, 90025 Friday and Saturday). Once you try them, you will use them for life. The owner, Javier, is a good guy, totally customer focused and ensure you are completely happy with the work and the value. I arrived early. Some additional options in detailing the vehicle were recommended. I opted for the clay detailing. The paint felt like a feather. When it's Cinco de Mayo and your friends decide to put a tequila bottle in your trunk, your night gets interesting. Worse, at the end of the night, your entire car reeks of a sour tequila smell, one that doesn't go away after driving with all the windows down on the 110 freeway. I can't thank Javier and Eco Detail enough from rescuing my car. Javier was extremely responsive when I called him at 8am on a Sat morning. 20 min later, he was waiting for me at the Silver Lake location (on Sunset and Bates). It took several hours to get the inside of the car fully cleaned, which to me shows how much attention and dedication they have to the job. He charged me a reasonable price for the long day of work. AMAZING WORK! Let me start off by saying that I've never paid for a detail and had no idea what to expect- a glorified car wash that costs 5x as much? Well, since I've been traveling for work and my car just sits on the street I had little motivation to get it washed over the last year.. Other than the occasional rain shower that is. When I DO drive, my 90lb husky likes to accompany me, shedding constantly and drooling all over the windows and seats. It got to the point that I knew I would be spending at least 4 hours cleaning it out and I might as well pay someone else to do it- enter Hiram at Eco Detail. I had bought a Groupon for the elite exterior detail, paint sealant and duct cleaning and added on the mini interior detail to take care of doggy damage. I brought in the car looking absolutely disgusting (sorry guys!) and could not believe the transformation. Dog smell? Gone! Fur? What fur? Drool stains? Nonexistent! 3 inches of dirt encrusting the car? (I said it was disgusting) Not a speck of dirt left! Mildewy/stale scent from the air ducts is no more! Only clean, fresh smelling air comes out now. My car is a 2002 so the headlights were pretty scratched up and yellowed and Hiram offered me headlight restoration for $30 instead of the usual $50 when I dropped it off. I mentioned that I was planning on selling my car anyway so thanks, but no thanks. When I picked up my car, he threw in the headlight restoration FREE OF CHARGE! It actually looks like new headlights were put on the car- this is a MUST for older cars with yellowed/scratched headlights- it really works. My car looks so shiny and new, now I'm hesitant to sell it. I only wish I had a garage to park it in- I'm scared to put it under a tree for fear that it will be ruined. Great customer service, great prices and a great detail! I used a groupon this time and got an amazing deal but Hiram worked so hard on my car, I felt like I had taken advantage of him by paying so little. Revised to 1 star because I never got the $50 refund check that Javier promised me via email. Bought a $45 groupon. Made an appointment a month ago. Went to the Barrington Location on Saturday. My first impression? Two workers standed in two parking spaces with limited tools and equipment. Not quite professional. A man( the person in charge?) offered me an interior detail for additional $40. Took that offer because I would like to have my car fully detailed like a new car. Got a call after 5.5 hours said my car was ready. I arrived there half hour later. To be honest, I would give 4 stars for the exterior detail. It looks pretty good in the first sight. Touched my car. The waxing was well done. One star deducted because some small places were not cleaned detailed. But still good. Here are the reason I give only overall 2 stars: The sanitizing system cleaning was not done: I got into my car. The smell was not that good. I asked the black guy if they had done the job. He didn't know obviously. He asked another Mexican worker for like 1 minute. He got back to me and said it was done. Really? I was not gonna argue with him since I was in rush to leave. Okay. How about the interior? 2 stars: It doesn't worth $40 because their job was not that "detail". They only did the vacuum and clean the dashbroad. The seat was not cleaned because I saw an old dirt is still on my rear passenger seat. The back trunk was not clean (even not vacuum) at all. I asked the person in charge and he asked another worker to clean it immediately for me. It took another 15 minutes. Finally, he asked me for the additional $40 interior detail work. I only had a $50 bill. I gave him that $50 bill and waited for the $10 change. I actually prepared to give him some tips. But he took my $50 bill and never get back to me! Okay, That $10 dollar is your tips and I will never return to you. I understand that for only $45, I shouldn't expect too much. I guess that was their "special" service for who use the coupon like me. The claimed $330 value of work? Forget about it. I don't think they did the 1-yr paint sealant and the duct cleaning because I don't see any changes though. I feel like they only did the exterior detail. That is. And where is the 1 gallon waterless solution? That is a mystery. I yelped a bit. I believe Javier probably have done very great job to his customers. After searching on yelp for good places around LA that do exceptional auto detailing I came upon eco auto solutions. After reading rave reviews on the business, I decided to contact them to see how much it would cost and what the detail included. I sent an email with my contact info and in a few hours received a call from Javier to schedule a time for him to take a look at my car and estimate how much the interior/exterior detail would cost. I took it to his shop and settled on a time to drop it off a few days later. He said it would take a good 6-7 hrs which must mean the results will be extraordinary if it's taking that long. AND oh my god I couldn't believe what I saw when I went to pick up my car. The interior was really dirty and my headliner was black and grimy when I took it in, but once I stepped inside, It looked like a brand new car. Even had that new car smell. I felt great being in the cockpit. Even looking out the windows was a major difference. I used to think just spraying some windex and wiping it down was the best for my windows, but after Javier cleaned it all, it was sooooo much better. The exterior of the car was also exceptional and shined under the sun like a diamond! Looked just like a brand new car and I drove off with a huge grin on my face. Although the price was a bit more than what I had quoted from other places, i am glad I went in this direction. Like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." and the results of Javier's hard work really shows! it was obvious he really cares and didn't try upsetting you things your car doesn't need. Long time Yelp lurker here. I've never been compelled to write a review, but Eco Detail has changed all that! I think it goes without saying that the quality of their work is excellent. I used the Living Social deal to get an exterior detail, and also got the discounted interior detail. The only time my car has looked better was when I drove it off the lot! And to know that they can get those results using environmentally friendly products is a huge bonus. There was a minor mishap regarding my center console (I felt bad for Hiram, who was so apologetic when he told me about it. Hey, accidents happen, right?). Javier without hesitation offered to reimburse me for any costs that I will incur getting things fixed. That's the mark of an honest businessman. He's definitely gained a loyal customer. read more

Important Details: 1) I must say that this is the first time I have ever had my car detailed, so I don't have any other experiences to compare this to. 2) This review is about the exterior detail deal that I got on livingsocial. I was really happy with this service! Overall, it took about 2.5 hours but I didn't mind because it is an auto detail and it takes a lot of time to be thorough. Javier was so friendly and accommodating; he didn't try to push any more services on me which I really appreciated, and afterwards, he was very eager for me to conduct a full inspection to see if there was any area of my car that I was unsatisfied with. I was surprised that he actually cleaned the interior as well since I only paid for the exterior detail. It wasn't thorough, but he got rid of some dust and gunk that had been in my cupholders and it looked like they had vacuumed all my floor mats. Also, he did something to my air conditioning system so that it smelled BETTER than it has in a LONG time when I drove away....what a pleasant surprise! Overall, I was very satisfied with this experience. It has been about a month, and I can tell that my car is still being protected by the wax that Javier used....it still has a sheen. I will say that I did have trouble reaching someone to make an appointment with though. Luckily, I reached someone the first time I called to make an appointment, but when I called back four or five times to follow up with some questions, I couldn't get anyone to answer. Like many others here, I also had the $45 Groupon deal. Hiram was very flexible in scheduling the appointment. I have a 14 year old car that used to be white, and boy did my eyes pop out when I went back after 2.5 hours to pick it up: they did an amazing job, and went beyond my wildest expectations. Jaime, the guy who work on my car, was very meticulous and made sure there wasn't a spot left. Now my car looks as good as new - superb job! The Silverlake location is also good if you want to be a hipster for a couple of hours, just go down one block and blend into the Sunset Junction crowd! we used a Bloomspot offer for this detail. I made the reservation over the phone w/Javier and chose the Silverlake location based on the yelp recommendations. The first date available was over 3 weeks away on a Thursday. HIram phoned on the Saturday before the appointment to confirm the reservation later in the week. We got to the place a little early (had a 9am appt) Hiram said the car would be ready in about 3 hours and would call us about an hour before the car was ready. Note that the Bloomspot offer was for external detail only. A mini detail would cost $40 (cash) extra. We decided to go for this service as well. They did a beautiful job, and though my deal was for exterior only, they vacuumed the inside and cleaned all the windows also. Overall great experience at Eco Detail. I spoke with Javier before going in and asked about getting a few small scratches buffed out as well and he gave me a very reasonable price. Much appreciated! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because, they forgot to get a small "spray" of throw up on the inside of the passenger door panel. (A buddy of mine couldn't hold his vomit the night before) This was the only reason that I scheduled an emergency auto detail! I guess it could have been overlooked since you have to open the door to see it, but they had the doors open for the last hour while washing it. No biggie, I still haven't gotten around to cleaning it! Other than that, the experience was excellent and I would still recommend it to my friends. Some background before I start my actual (stellar) review of Eco Detail. I have been an avid Yelper for years now. I rarely try a new restaurant before I see what those on Yelp have to say and it's always my go-to site for a new, well, really any place that I may need, however I'd never actually written my own review. I know, I know, I should give back to the community from which I take so much, but that brings us here. Ever since my experience with Eco Detail I've sworn to myself that they would be my first Yelp review whenever that day comes. So here we are, first yelp review: Eco Detail. 5 stars. And I wish i could give it 10. My experience with Eco Detail began the morning following a fateful night in February 2011 when in my attempts to be a good friend I ended up with a car covered in vomit. And when I say covered, I mean the entire back seat area, the floor, the back of the driver's seat, in every crevice and hole you could imagine. Now mind you, I know that no one likes puke, but I've had a serious fear, aversion, freak-out-ness, whatever you want to call it, to it since as long as I can remember. So basically all I could think to myself as puke-covered friend, her boyfriend, and I tried to clean the car on the side of the road at 1am was Jason Segel in I Love You, Man screaming, "This is my nightmare!!" Needless to say, it was a failed attempt and despite leaving the windows open I awoke the next morning to the most disgusting, smelliest thing I'd ever encountered, complete with flies buzzing and an awful coating over the leather seats. I guess this is about the time that I should mention that this was a leased car that would need to be returned in ideally perfect condition. To put it in calmer words, I pretty much went into panic mode. The night before in my ignorant "I want to be a good friend and save my embarrassed friend from further pain by owing me tons of money on her birthday" state, I had searched for home remedies for getting vomit out of cars and cheap car cleaners. By the next morning I knew I needed nothing less than the best to save my poor Volvo from the revolting mess it had become. I called my friend, who was working as a personal assistant for an actress who owned a very nice car and spent way too much money on everything. Our conversation went something like, "HELP! Where do you take [insert name of bitch of an actress who shall not be named]'s car to be cleaned?!" She told me Eco Detail was the best of the best and lucky for birthday girl and me, they were very moderately priced and incredibly nice. She couldn't have been more right. I called them up and briefly explained what happened, that I'd like to keep the price down since I didn't want to ruin my friend's birthday any more, and he gave me a quote that was amazing considering what I'd read from other detailers online. I don't remember the exact cost, but I know it was extremely reasonable for what he would be dealing with. He understood the urgency and told me to head right over. Once I got there Javier came to talk to me and survey the damage. He was very nice and very reassuring. He even asked who had referred me to him and knew exactly who my friend was when I mentioned her and her boss's car. Fast forward a few hours later when I receive a call that my car was finished. As a cost saving measure, we had decided they'd only clean the back section where the puke actually had landed and while the car looked worlds better, on the drive home I knew that it wouldn't cut it. The smell, that awful awful smell, had permeated into the entire interior. I quickly called Eco Detail back and explained that while they did an amazing job with what I'd asked, I'd underestimated the power of the puke and needed the full treatment. Javier again worked out an excellent deal with me, explaining that he would still have to charge a little more (completely understandable), but they would make the car as good as new. I brought it back first thing the next morning and by that night the magic was done. The ECO sanitizing system works freaking wonders. Seriously. He explained the smell would still be there for a short while, but that over time it would be back to new and he was completely right. I seriously thought my car would never be the same; that I would be forced to drive around with the windows down and a cloth over my face for the rest of my time with the car, only to be charged an exorbitant amount of money when the dealership saw what I was attempting to give back. I can tell you that I returned that car a little over a year after "the incident" and the dealer thought it was so nice that they ended up buying it back themselves. To this day one of the best compliments I ever received was just a few months after this experience when a friend got into my car and said, "Wow, your car still has that new car smell!" I cannot thank or recommend Eco Detail enough. read more

Javier is a professional who's extremely passionate about his work. He's a great guy and the job that Eco does is fantastic. It's pricey (hence the four stars) but worth it if you want to take proper care of your car. Very pleased with the results. read more

Javier... great service... good job... just as delivered. What do I drive? Does that matter? What matters is that my car has Japanese black paint. And not the Lexus/Acura/Infiniti paint... so it's pretty awful paint. Anyhow, they made my car look great!!! Thanks!!!!! read more
