They have destroyed silk ties and other dresses, never even apologized for it...you just have to pay and discard them!Then you bring lightly soiled garments and they return them in the exactly same condition pretending they have been "cleaned", that they can not do better and charging you full price just like if their service have been appropriately delivered! I absolutely love how easy Eco Friendly makes my life! They're free delivery on the app is simple to schedule and convenient. Jeans are always so long and certain pairs I like to wear at a specific length, so I love that Gloria at Eco Friendly will tailor them exactly how I want them. She does great work and I've been happy many times. I bought a pair of pink Timberland boots at a swap meet in San Luis Obispo. They were in great shape (hardly worn!) but very dirty and no insoles. I dropped them right off to Pop's at Eco Friendly for a shoe bath and brand new insoles. I had them delivered to my home and they're perfect! Fit great and practically brand new. I also love having my vintage jackets and sweaters cleaned at Eco Friendly. Some of these items are very old and delicate, but I still enjoy wearing them. It's a comfort to know that Eco Friendly knows just how to handle them so I can keep enjoying them for years to come! So many services, all in one spot! read more

I couldn't even begin to tell you how amazing my experience has been using eco-friendly cleaners. Pros -Fast -Reliable -User-Friendly !! ( app, text) -Cleaners did not irritate Sensitive skin (eczema) Cons -Pricey ( but! you get what you pay for) I originally began using the service at their Santa Barbara location several years ago but recently have started using their Goleta location for the pick up Fluff And Fold services. As a busy young professional, I simply don't always have the time to do my own laundry and unfortunately don't have a washing machine at my place. I am so impressed with the ease and simplicity in using their phone app, which allows you to upload payment information, address, and pick up time, without any trouble! Not only that but the staff will communicate with you through text - which for me is perfect because when I'm working, I can't answer the phone, and sometimes things would be so much easier and more efficient in writing or over a simple text! They were even able to get some wax residue out of my bathroom mat! This makes me so happy because I have a set of two and now I don't have to get rid of them! Finally my roommate is especially sensitive to synthetic chemicals and uses only organic products in the house so I appreciate the focus on natural and eco-friendly cleaners! To be honest I'd be fine either way but my roommate is definitely not OK with anything less than natural products used in our home! So happy to have been introduced to this business through a Yelp Elite event, and now they have been our go-to cleaners. Exceptional service for cleaning large blankets, bed-covers, sheets and pillow cases. Nice to have them so conveniently close in Goleta. Tucked in the back of the Ralph's shopping center (next to the Magnolia Smoke Shop) on Hollister between Fairview and Patterson Avenues. In the seventies this Magnolia Shopping Center was the premier hang-out spot for us Hollister Elementary School students (lots of good memories riding our String-Ray bikes in and out of this center). Angelica, One of the managers, is so passionate about the business and what she does! But it is no surprise after meeting the owners, Greg is a very kind man. Make sure to get your shoes repaired at Pops, located inside their store at the 5 Points shopping center. I always forget my dry cleaning, but the free pick up and delivery service is insanely easy and super convenient! Eco Friendly Cleaners - Goleta - We all went to Eco Friendly! Not surprised! - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

They destroyed my wedding dress and then refused to pay me a fair price for it. I bought a beautiful handmade lace wedding dress from Grace Loves Lace and decided to have it cleaned at Eco Friendly Cleaners because my sister had hers done here with no issues. It was unaltered and worn once for a few hours during my micro-wedding. When we dropped off the dress, we were assured that they knew how to clean it. This was not the case. When we went to pick up the dress, the white lace had a pink hue to it. We asked them how they had cleaned it, and were given very vague answers. From the vague answers, I gathered that it had been put into a machine and chemicals had been used on it. We declined to take the dress since it was obviously damaged. I called and emailed various times with very spotty responses. The owner claimed that it was a production issue and that I needed to contact the company that made the dress. The dress company said that it was a cleaning issue and that the chemicals Eco Friendly Cleaners had used had damaged my dress beyond repair. At this point, I asked for the full price of the dress, since they had ruined it. The owner asks for the contact from the dress company. The dress company stated it "was a fault of the cleaners" and the owner states that the lining of the dress (which was nude) bled and caused my dress to turn the pinkish hue. After months of calls and emails the owner sends us compensation for the dress that was significantly less than the value of the dress, even used. He included a letter that summarized the conversations that we had, however, the owner continued to claim that it was not his fault and that is was the dress companies fault. On top of it all, the letter claimed falsely that the dress was altered and was in our possession, which it was not. It is very clear that there is little to poor communication between the owner/management and the workers of the establishment. There were many times where we got different stories from different people depending on the day we talked to the company. We feel we never got a clear answer or story as to what actually happened. THEN, we go to pick up the dress and WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, the cleaners are trying to clean the dress AGAIN. It was wet when we tried to pick it up a second time. When we finally got the dress back, the lace felt stiff and the lace was shorter than the lining. Eco Friendly Cleaners completely destroyed my wedding dress and did not fairly compensate me for the damages. If I did not have a newborn at home, I would pursue them in small claims court, but at this moment, I would rather spend time with my baby than spend any more time trying to convince this business that they should have paid me in full for ruining my wedding dress. If they truly did not ruin my wedding dress, they probably would not have 1) given me any money 2) told me that if I cashed the check I would "agree not to pursue further action" 3) tried to wash it a second time without my permission to "fix" it. Had this company owned up to the damages after Grace Loves Lace confirmed that they indeed had incorrectly cared for the dress, and compensated us for a used resale value of the dress, we would have dropped this whole thing, and even given them a good review. I do not recommend this cleaning service for anyone or anything, but ESPECIALLY DO NOT TAKE YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE. read more

Such a frustrating experience. I went in to get 3 alterations. I needed the zipper on something fixed, a small hole in the leg of my pants patched, and a pair of shorts let out. First of all I don't get alterations much, last time was probably 4 years ago. AKA I'm not super knowledgeable. But, I go in and the woman tells me that if they patch the hole in my pants it's gonna look different than the rest. Doesn't say they'd need to order that fabric color or what color they would use, just it would look different. Now I figured that would be better than a hole and it's on the very bottom of the pant leg so I said ok. Then she says they don't do measurements at this location so she can't let my shorts out. Tells me I need to go to the downtown location. I don't understand why they wouldn't even carry a tape measurer so that I could do them myself. And I asked if she needed measurements in inches or centimeters so I could possibly call in and give her the measurements and she said she had no idea. So I dropped off the two items, kept the shorts because apparently she couldn't help me, and I go home. I got a call 3 days later saying that they couldn't patch the hole without ordering new fabric. Then they wouldn't tell me how much extra that would cost, and then they said it wouldn't be ready by the original pickup date but that they didn't know when it would be ready. So I said ok, never mind, I'll just pick it up with the other item that I brought in. Don't do anything to it. Lastly, zipper repair ended up being twice what they said it would be. I asked when I dropped the items off if this was a small repair, as those are listed as costing $12 (or something around there). They tried to charge me 34 for it and when I explained the miscommunication they essentially accused me of lying. I was fine accepting that the clerk hadn't understood my question but they were not. 2 stars because they did take $10 or so off the zipper price since I wasn't expecting it to be that expensive. In the end, they were only able to fix 1/3 of the items I brought in. The store is expensive and unequipped to do a simple repair. I'll be looking elsewhere in the future. read more

Professional store front, great business mission, bad first impression. I used my axxess card to get 50% off so I won't complain that their services are overpriced. I brought my suits and ties for a nice eco friendly dry clean. My suits smelled like bbq and some of my ties had stains on them. Two days later I picked up my suits to find that they were clean and the pants were correctly pressed along the existing creases. However, they were unable to get the stains out of my silk ties. They just left a note that said the ties could not be cleaned because they could become damaged. I did not check the ties until I got home and the employee did not notify me. That kind of irked me and left a poor impression. I took my ties elsewhere and they got the stains out. read more

The good - I've had several items patched here before and the work is good. The patches have held up well and the external stitching was well hidden. The Bad - I feel like they are very overpriced. $25 to have a basic pant hem done? $30 to fix a 2 inch rip? Thats far more than I ever paid while living in LA. There have been multiple occasions when the front desk has told me that my time will be ready on a certain day (usually in three days time), and the receipt says the same thing, and I go back on that day to pick up only to be told that its going to be several more days. So my time is wasted. Lastly, when taking pants to be hemmed, the woman on the front desk not only tried to tell me to hem my pants longer than needed (despite my insistence that I needed a certain length because I don't wear heels), she also made a rude comment about the size pants I wear. No, I'm not slim, and unfortunately, my works pants run two sizes small. Not great for the ego. I'm paying to have alterations done, not to walk out of the place holding back tears. YAY for a REASONABLY priced dry cleaner place in Goleta! I used to take stuff to some other places around town and wound up with a fat bill and clothes that just weren't cleaned properly. ahem. This place is really well priced and they are fast-- they tell you up front about the cost to get something done, the ladies that work in there are super nice, and they turn stuff around... QUICKLY and it's always been immaculately clean. I've dropped off coats and gotten them back in 2 days (compared to the usual weeklong wait). Also, the clothes never stink like a chemical when you get them back... you know, that faint but nose curdling scent that seems to permeate things once you get them back from other places? Not here. These guys are fantastic. Pick up items from my office, deliver them, and treat me like I am a VIP every time (which I am not). The prices are reasonable and i have been very happy with the quality of the work. As example of their integrity, they delayed one of my shirts because they said they were not happy with how it turned out and wanted to take it back in to do another cleaning. Also had them do tailoring and they were perfect on the measurements. And they have resoled and repaired a few pairs of shoes. One stop shopping they do it all! EDIT*** The manager called me and made sure he made everything right. He talked through everything with me and made sure that I got my point across. He offered me a re-fund and made sure that I was taken care of. The manager is the only reason I moved it up 2 stars. He is such a sweet person who you know cares about customer service. The only reason why I won't be returning is because of the woman employee who said nothing to me at all even after I said have a good day. I don't know about anyone else, but customer service is a main factor in determining wether or not I return to a business. Saying that, the manger said that this never happens, so maybe my experience was the only one and hopefully it is better for you. ___________________________________________________________ I really wanted to like this place because it claims to not use harsh chemicals like other dry cleaners. So I went in to have my coat dry cleaned since I needed it for a wedding. I asked for a quote and the guy said 15-20, then another lady comes and says 32. It's pricy, but I need my coat dry cleaned. I return 2 days later to pickup my coat and the total comes out to first 37, then to 35. I ask about the pricing since up until then, i do research and the price seemed way too high. Apparently my coat is 100% wool etc and heavy (even though it's actually not heavy). I look inside and it is still filled with the little pilling all over the coat. I ask the lady and she tells me that they already took like 30 minutes on it and that's all they could do. She then tells me I can take them off myself even though it will take me a while. There is a reason I took it there, 1. I can't do it myself because of shortage of time 2. I expected to pic it up and have a good job done. How can they charge me so much and not even finish? So later I get home and finally look at the entire coat, The inside is filled with black fluff and a ton of pilling, the front is filled with pilling everywhere and my coat is not even 100% wool. So I call and i tell her why they charged me for 100% wool (its a blend of different materials with a % wool) of and she told me it was only a $2 charge, but she didn't even offer to refund them. I don't care that it was $2, if I was $2 short, would they have given me my coat? and I wanted to know why they charged me 35 dollars for a coat that is not even near finished, she told me to come back to the store and they would finish. I didn't go back because like i told them, I needed it quick and I don't have time to go back because i need to go to my friend's wedding. I wouldn't have minded paying so much if the Job they did was even decent so I strongly recommend trying a different location. Maybe it's just this location, I'm not sure, but I definitely won't be going back and will encourage others to try a different place. read more

I have lived in Goleta for more than four years, and I never new this gem of a cleaners was so close by and affordable. Not only are their prices reasonable, but they also immaculately clean personal belonging such as purses and stuffed animals! They came out like new! Post-Reply from Business comment: I was aware of the prices before leaving, it would be hard not to since you pay up front (not the same experience that I have had at other dry cleaners, but still reasonable). I did decide to use the services anyways. I lived in the area and and used their services both for dry cleaning shirts and also occasionally for bulk laundry. Could I have gone elsewhere? Sure. Did I? No. The convenience and the limited amount of laundry made it worth while going here. I even recommended to friends that they take items to this place as they were quick and did a reliably good job, albeit for a premium. I do not know if the owners took issue with my assessment that their service is expensive ($6 for a dress shirt to be dry cleaned with nothing special done or $3 for a dress shirt to be simply laundered) or if I gave them 3 stars. If it is the former, this is obviously a personal judgment based on individual finances and past experiences. Before I lived in Santa Barbara, $1.50 to $1.95 seemed to be the range (even at another green/eco dry cleaner shop). Yes everything is more expensive here, but good grief that is quite a difference. If they take issue with the fact that I gave them 3 stars... then so be it. I do not hand out 5 star assessments to places that do the bare minimum. I do not do it by default. 3 is my default and businesses move up or down from there. So in that view, they were bang on average. Nothing special, nothing horribly wrong. This despite somewhat lackluster customer service on several occasions (once I was stuck at the front trying to get someone's attention for 5 minutes while they worked in the back and talked with other people) and a general unwillingness to do anything than what they usually do (asked for the shirt to be cleaned and light on the starch on the shirt and they told me that they don't do special requests, the shirt would be as it ends up). Whatever. I did not take those things too seriously at the time, as I kept coming back. All this to say that I am done with them. I will go somewhere else next time. I will pay less, have the same semi-environmentally friendly cleaning process, and have it done the way that I like it to be done. This will also probably be done without the business owners getting their laundry in a bunch over a review which was not a gushing 5-stars. If you want 5 stars, then earn 5 stars. My wife's dress was wrinkled, and I called ahead to see if I could bring it in for pressing when I picked up my dry cleaning order. I didn't ask how much as I assumed it wouldn't be much. Shame on me as they charged $55 for a simple pressing!!! Don't make my mistake as if they have the opportunity to take advantage of you, they will. This is sad as their prices aren't bad otherwise. First, let me say that I was in such a rush that I didn't have time to check reviews. Otherwise I would have steered clear of this place! Second, they are lucky they even got one star. I had two tuxes and two shirts that needed pressing, same day. They have two locations and one phone number. Very screwy, but I let that pass. They said they could do the job quick turnaround. To clarify, I only needed pressing, not dry cleaning. I sent my father to drop off and gave him what I thought would be more than enough cash. It ended up costing more than 2x that. $128 for two tuxes and two shirts. What the heck!?!? $128 for pressing? Really? Yes, they warned my "messenger" but that's all he was, so he agreed and let them continue with their mediocre services. The shirt did not look very nicely pressed, especially considering the price. I am very disappointed that they felt it was okay to charge that much for their services. After the fact, we called another dry cleaners nearby for a price quote- about half what we were charged. We also have since gotten the tux drycleaned and a button replaced for less than $20 at a different drycleaners. I called to complain, they said that dry cleaning and pressing are the same price. This would have been nice to know! I informed them that I would be writing a review with this information and that I was unhappy with the outcome. They said that a manager would call me back. I gave them my number. The manager called my father and told him he agreed to it and that I shouldn't write a review. I never received a call back from them. Why did they not follow instructions? Probably par for the course for this business. In all, extremely disappointed, would never recommend this place to anyone and don't wish them success with their business. read more

Dropped off 3 items on a Wednesday to be ready for an event Saturday evening. Was told they would "for sure" be ready for pick up on Saturday. We went Saturday around 12:30p to pick them up, and the items were not ready. They weren't even clean yet. They were fortunately able to clean them for us in a couple of hours, so we took them as is and just ironed them at home. I had a shirts and some jeans hemmed and they all came out looking amazing. I was really impressed and will definitely come here again.
