She took no accountability and blamed me the whole time. She was very rude... I don't know how she's still in business. Owner told me to come back she would fix the cashmere sweater. When I returned she again yelled at me stating I dropped it off in that condition and offered me only $100 for their mistake for genuine cashmere. But not without yelling at me and again telling me it was my fault. About 2 weeks ago my husband brought in 2Burberry sweaters 2Versace sweaters and 1MCM sweater. A week later upon pick up they inform him that they did not dry clean our MCM sweater because it has a bleach stain . Whattttt Hello why where we not contacted if that's the case and asked if we still wanted to service our sweater. You know why because they made that bleach stain and obviously stayed quiet till pick up time . Why would I wear an almost $500 sweater around bleach obviously not . Years ago, I had some alterations done at American Cleaners up on the Mesa. The service was good and the price was fair. Now, it is run by a person motivated by greed, has no respect for customers and is very rude! Writing this is cathartic so if you read only the first paragraph I get it. A week ago, I called American Cleaners to ask if my queen-size quilt could be cut and sewn into a twin-size one. The answer was yes so I brought it in for measuring and pricing. The woman in charge (do not remember her name) put it into the tailor's bin and entered the information into the computer. I was then told that the tailor would be back in a week and would determine the cost. So after a week, I called and she still she did not know the price and told me to come in. I talked to the tailor in Spanish because she was bi-lingual and she was courteous and kind. Then the person who acted as though she was either the owner or the boss said it would be $50. I told her that the quilt didn't even cost that much. She stated that it was a lot of work and what did I expect to pay. To which I replied that $20 was fair and she said she could go as low as $40, then I said I could pay $25. I also said that I felt like I was bargaining in Tijuana. As I was leaving the premises the lady in charge said loudly that I had wasted their time and that if I found someone that charged less she would take her own stuff to that tailor. I told her that she ought to have told me the price from the start and I would not have wasted their time. I recently got my bridesmaid dress and my sisters bridesmaid dress tailored at this shop. All I have to say is horrible do not go here even if your 100% desperate. Dry cleaning good altering TERRIBLE!!!! I had to take my dress back 2 times and the lady who did it messed up my stitching and now it is coming undone on the wedding day. Zero Integrity: the proprietor, Helen, of this business has zero integrity. I was 'taken to the cleaners' - at the literal cleaners. I now know why the saying exists. I had a sports coat and four shirts tailored, for which I was quoted a lower price than charged, and even though I was told I could use a discount offer BEFORE AGREEING WITH THEN TO START THE WORK, the owner refused to accept it when it came time to pay. If I could give zero stars, I would. As a new client, I brought in several pieces for both dry cleaning and alterations, one of them being a very special, blue silk, vintage silk dress with layered pleating detail. I explained that it needed the stitching reinforced on some of the pleats were it was coming a little loose. Because the dress had a couple small stains on it, we discussed spot cleaning those first to make sure they came out before they did the alterations. When I picked up my items, the dress was balled up in a bag and not included on the ticket - with no explanation. So the cashier and I opened it and I was nearly in tears to find the dress completely tattered and shredded. The cashier was in shock. Then the owner Helen arrived and said "oh yeah - we tried to call you" (no one called me). "Your dress was very old - it fell apart when we dry cleaned it - the stitching comes out so easily" (at which point she proceeded to pull layers out of the already-shredded dress to show me how easily it came apart. She kept saying "it's very old" and I replied "yes - it's vintage!" She had zero remorse and never even apologized. I was in complete shock. She seemed like she was doing me a favor when she said "I'm not charging you." So essentially, she wasn't charging me the $35 cleaning fee for ruining a very special dress of mine. Not only was she rude and unapologetic, she didn't even offer me a discount on the $95 balance for the other items I picked up. STAY AWAY! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WOULDN'T TRUCT THEM WITH ANYTHING IMPORTANT!!!! read more

Worst dry-cleaning experience in my life. They did not call when my clothes were ready for pick up; I had to stop by and ask twice. They ruined one of my dresses with the hot iron leaving two burn marks in the fabric. I do not recommend this place at all. Over priced and unprofessional. read more

Wish I read the reviews before coming here. I only chose this location because its within walking distance of me and they had a 50% Axxess deal for first timers. Awesome, decided to drop off a big load of clothes because of this. Clothes were ready end of day the next day. Went to pay and to my dismay they "only accept Axxess cards at the time of drop off but we can give you the 10% off". I asked to speak to the owner who would not come out. I'm confused...you can still give a discount of 10% but not 50%? Makes me wonder why they want to know if you won't be paying full price at drop off... I mentioned that no one told me that I had to show my card at drop off, as its typical to show your card anywhere else in SB when you PAY. They didn't care. So I got shoved with the $100+ bill that was supposed to be $60. I'm not trying to be cheap here but don't join Axxess if you don't plan on executing their business model. heck, if i had a good experience I would have kept going back but their bad attitude and made up Axxess rules was enough to deter me. Dropped six work uniform chef shirts to be pressed. All six ruined with holes and two buttons missing. Up shot: the manager refunded my money for the fatal press When the owner was able to meet me and review the damage, she turned on her staff and verbally berated and yelled at them she then asked me what I wanted. I acknowledged the shirts were used and that I wanted to be fair and that as a business owner myself I understand things like this can happen and be a huge set back. I explained that the two newer priced at $52.95 on line. The 4 older priced closer to $125. Acknowledging that the more expensive shirts were older, I asked if she would reimburse me the cost of replacing 3 shirts at $52.95 (in essence half of what was ruined) I was accused of trying to rip her of and that I was pulling a fast one to sell the shirts for a profit. I had the site on my phone and showed the replacements shirts to her nullifying the racket accusation. I was then accused of putting the holes in the shirts, I said that was ridiculous, I had gone over the shirts with one of her associates at drop off and no holes were present. I explained that I had 6 useful uniform shirts and now after her service I had none. I had to replace all 6. I was asking for a compromise for 3. In the end she gave me $150 and asked that I never go there again. I thanked her for the compromise and said that the feeling was mutual. I would not recommend going here. Do you ever wonder WHY they do not have a price menu for cleaning women's garments? It is because they can literally take YOU and your clothes to the cleaners if you are naive- as I was. Took in a plain dress and the girl who seemed nice- jacked my rate up to $20. There was no lining, no stains, no nothing.....could not believe it. Went home and called St. Paul's on State Street and same dress was $12.00 to clean. You tell me what could possibly have made such a differenc in price other than greed and taking advantage of a novice. Will no longer buy dry cleaning only clothes if I have an option. But if you must get this done- BEWARE. Dry cleaners are notorious for taking advantage of pricing on women's clothing. A man's cotton shirt might be $3.00 to clean and simple cotton woman's blouse will be $10.00. Be careful. Huge price differences and discrimination on women's cleaning prices. Awful experience, we will NEVER go back. Our clothes were stained after we left them for a wash and fold service. When my husband and I came in to show the owner what happened and ask for a refund, she accused us of lying and yelled at me. I was shocked a local business owner would treat a customer in such a dispicable way. She would only give us half of our money back and didn't care at all about keeping us as customers. So they obviously didn't get my suit clean. When I took it out of the bag: still smelled. Clearly no quality control here and they don't check to make sure items are clean before returning them. Took suit back before 5:00 and asked them to fix it because I needed it for a business trip the next day, which I explained had a hard deadline of departure at 8:00. They had nothing helpful to say. Asked if I there was anything I could do that would clean it: nothing helpful to say. Even though it was clearly their error, they didn't offer any useful information or offer to correct their mistake/refund the job they *didn't* do. All the lady told me was that they could run it again and have it ready by 9:00 am and that they'd have to do a special process because the regular one didn't work. Well, they should've done it right the first time. This is the second time out of two total times I've used them this year that I've gotten unclean clothes back. You had one job, American Cleaners. Took suit to another cleaner and explained the situation. They told me they could have it clean by 7:00 am the next day even though they don't officially open until 7:30. When I showed the woman the suit, it was still in the American Cleaners bag. She'd pretty clearly seen the same issue before from them.
