Its so clean and they have awesome chairs however they get booked up like you wouldn't believe. I have called at 10am on several different occasions during the week for a same day appt to find they are fully booked at the location closer to my house on Maple. When I went today she spend barely any time filing my feet or nails--the whole pedi took less than 30 min. My toes nails dont even look that great--i could have done the same file job. Its just such a disappointment for the price and for what a good salon I thought they were. If this was a one time thing I wouldnt have bothered to write a review...or if it was a cheap salon then i wouldnt be writing one either. Save your money and go somewhere where they have enough employees and do a meticulous job on your feet! read more

Walking in to this place, I was astounded by the number of regulars--usually a good sign of how happy people are with the service. That being said, I'd HIGHLY recommend booking an appointment. I saw one walk in in the fully booked salon, and she was told there would be a lengthy wait. The pedicure experience was great. They have zero gravity chairs and essential oils they mix in the bath. They are big on cleanliness which is of extreme importance. Pretty sure they have a whole sanitization room. The one downside was that they switched who was working on me somewhat abruptly between pedicure and manicure services. A regular walked in with an appointment for the technician that was starting my mani and she had to quickly search for someone to do my manicure. I was impressed at the quality of the nails and how long they lasted. Most gel manicures only last 5-7 days on me (I am constantly washing my hands at work) and this one lasted a week and a half. read more

This salon was recommended to me by a neighbor. I had a classic mani/pedi and enjoyed every minute. There are hundreds of colors to choose from, but Annie, my nail tech, helped me pick some fun colors by a local company. You're offered tea or water at the start of your service. The sanitizing room is viewable to the main room, showcasing their sterilizing methods. The pedi chairs are super relaxing, it's easy to zone out and fully enjoy the experience. My daughter had raved about this nail salon, yet my first experience will be my last. The girl that waited on me was Gigi, not only was her personality non existent she also had to answer the phones while trying to give me a pedicure. Not once did she apologize or say "excuse me". It didn't look as if they were short staff there were ladies in the back not waiting on customers. It got so bad that I stopped her midway, explained it was my first experience at this salon and I wanted it to be a good one. Her attitude was "she would give me to someone else". If that was the case why didn't she have someone else work on me from the beginning? Also, my daughters tech was giving her options on other services I.e. Reflexology, it was never mentioned to me until the new girl started working on me. I also noticed when we first sat down we weren't offered water or tea which I didn't realize they had except it was offered to the caucasian ladies across from us. Four stars for pedicure. I've been to this place a few times now for manicure and pedicure, and this is my go-to place for pedicure. It is the most relaxing pedicure you will ever have. They have a recliner massage chair where you would be lying back on your back flat while getting the pedicure. My manicure experience isn't as great because of how easily the polish chips (I've had gel manicure here twice, and with my most recent experience, the gel came off the following day). If you are looking for a good manicure place, I recommend Studio 39 in the Sola Salons in Birmingham. read more

Great polish selection. I love that they carry Zoya. I don't really know what is so "Eco" about this place. It's a typical manicure. The lady who did my nails was not bad. I had to ask her a few times to either fix a few of the nails prior to polish. After the polish dried, I noticed irregularities in the way the polish spread over my nails. This used to be my go-to pedicure place. I actually called their pedicures "toegasms". The atmosphere, people, pedicures, price and choice of colors can't be beat. Now, I can't get in. It used to be a walk in spa. Now you can't walk in at all. Nor can you call a day or two ahead of time. They told me today that they were taking reservations a week to two weeks out. Honestly I'm really disappointed. I rarely get my nails done and my first experience with eco nails last year was really great. I wanted to treat myself again but was burned on my hand pretty badly with the towel. It took weeks to heal and is still even there. Since I understand that mistakes happen and even though it was ugly and ruined how my manicure looked I decided to give them another try. They took off my shellac with nail polish remover and tin foil, not the gel soak off as advertised. It felt hot on my fingertips from the chemical reaction. This process destroyed my nails and now my nails are cracking across the middle of my entire nail. Too low to pull or cut off or else I'd lose more than half my natural nail and be in terrible annoying pain. read more

I have been searching for an eco friendly nail salon and I think this might be the one for me! Tea, water, hot towels, essential oils and Epsom salt. Staff was polite, friendly and focused on who they were helping. A lot of nail polish to choose from with a variety of colors. It is decorated very nice and relaxing with comfortable massage chairs and well cleaned pedicure tubs. You don't get the overwhelming smell of acetone or other chemicals here - it actually smells like a spa. The price for a mani/pedi was great - I thought it would have been more since this place specializes in being more natural and eco friendly. Although it is 30min away from me, I will definitely be returning and recommending this place. My nails survived a busy wedding weekend and they still look great! read more

UPDATE!! Hours after leaving my last review about a week ago when I came I was contacted by the owner of the shop. She was so understanding and so nice and made sure she did everything she could to have me reconsider my feelings on the salon. As I work in the beauty industry as well I can definitely understand that certain employees don't always reflect the salon as a whole. I was contacted the next day after giving my information and was offered another manicure at no charge. I ended up seeing Katherine and after my experience I understood that I had completely misjudged the Salon. The manicure was so good i ended up getting a pedicure as well that they did not let me pay for. I'm not giving the salon 5 stars because of all the free things that I have gotten but how well of a job they did to take care of my nails and that's the main reason why when here. Also how they have corrected themselves really shows that they are serious about customer service and about being the best that they can be and that means a lot to me. I have left my previous review up just so people can see how I was feeling and how I'm feeling now. Previous review: I went here because I usually get my nails done every week but I haven't been able to get into my lady. I walked in and the place look nice. As soon as I started getting my nails done I could tell she was rushing me hardcore. Maybe because I'm a guy she thought I was ignorant to how someone is supposed to get their nails done but how bad she was hacking at my nails and cuticles wouldn't be able to fool anybody. Kind of pricy for the quality of the pedicure itself. I've never had a pedicure where the ridges on my nails weren't addressed; makes my nails look like I did them instead of a pro. I originally wanted the delux pedicure because I haven't had one since last summer and my feet needed the extra TLC. The tech informed me not enough time had been scheduled when I made my appointment. I'm a bit surprised the receptionist isn't required to ask what level service you'd like when setting up appointments. And just a little thing but everyone else was offered tea or water, but not me. I came in for the first time and was very impressed. This place is clean and they use new files and buffers for all their customers as well as sterilized equipment. Cleanliness is extremely important to me. I do not want to be at risk of getting any type of infections from other people. The pedicure tubs are also very clean and they use liners in the tub to make your pedicure safer and more sanitary! I also like that the nail technicians speak English. It makes it much more pleasant and reassuring to be able to communicate effectively when I have questions. Keep up the good work! read more

Have been going to the Troy Salon since they first opened their doors. Always respected the owner Catherine and her team for their profession and friendly service. Absolutely adore Anna the manager of that store. But left today feeling like I had been high jacked with a mani pedi which cost me $67 dollars (normally $45) the additional is for a product upcharge called Dazzel Dry. It applies exactly like normal base, polish & top coat and lasts much longer than regular polish. I love the product so much, I purchased it my self and brought it with me for my service. Well apparently that did not matter to Catherine who insisted I pay the total amount anyway even after it was used and I questioned the receptionist who went back to confirm. I can appreciate the higher cost of products and certainly would never question the charge but forcing someone to pay an upcharge on their own products is a rude business practice and shows no respect for a client who has patronized them for years. You lost my future business and my respect as a business owner who gouges the very people who support her salon. Hopefully she will see the errors of her way and see that doing the right thing always pays off in the long run.... read more

This is one of the best nail salons I've been to for both the quality and value. It was quiet and relaxing, and didn't smell like chemicals. The pedicure chairs were amazing! My biggest rave however is that the technicians I worked with, Kylie and Katherine were meticulous in trimming my cuticles and polish application. I truly appreciate the attention to detail and that is what I pay for when I go to get my nails done. Poor customer service. I was looking forward all weekend to my mani/pedi after reading rave reviews on yelp. Left home early to get there, unfortunately when I plugged in the address to my GPS, I was navigated to west maple location near evergreen. Got to this location on time but couldn't find the salon, so I called the salon and I was told it was further up on maple. My GPS stated 10 minutes away from the time I called, so I told the salon employee, she said that was ok...knowing I would get there 20 minutes later then my scheduled time. So I drove there immediately. When I enter, I told them I just called and the response from girl upfront was just rude but her reception desk colleague jumped in and tried to help. She spoke to someone and came and told me they could only accommodate for one service. I was upset asking why they didn't tell me when I called to say I was lost, I could have just rescheduled.They stood like deers in a headlight providing no customer support or empathy. I choose not to have my mani/pedi there. Poor customer service, and truthfully by the appearance of the location it was lackluster, nothing really special. And only one person was waiting for an appointment,a few customers getting mani/pedis. I gave this review at least one star because I received a call from an employee apologizing for what occurred which I did think was polite. On a positive note, I searched Yelp and found Pure Lux nails on orchard lake, they accommodated immediately and provided excellent service. Recently moving caused me to find a new salon, and I was referred to go here by someone. I called to make an appointment because I didn't know how busy it was for walk-ins. When I called, the receptionist was super friendly, and got me in shortly after I called to make an appointment. My manicure was outstanding! Shannon did a more than AMAZING job. She was very meticulous with everything, and the shape and polish were perfect. Everything is very clean, and they have relaxing music playing in the background.
