You need to show up MAX 1hr before your flight, and even still, only if you're a keener.. Wait times are at most 10min and the gates are literally right on the other side of the wall as check in. While there's no food or drink options past security, there is a small cafe pre-security screening that will take your order and then they will hand deliver it to you at your gate PAST security. Pretty cool little work around they figured out there. There is a water fill-up station near the gate as well. Only two gates with one toilet available for each men and women. Great views of the tarmac, especially since you walk straight onto the flight deck to board. Air Canada Jazz brings you in on a turboprop De Havilland Q400 from Vancouver which was the easiest way to start having fun on Okanagan Lake.

There's a very small cafe on site pre-security, and nothing after you clear security other than a couple of vending machines and a water fountain. The departure waiting area is spacious enough for a small regional airport, and considering the largest passenger planes scheduled are Dash-8 Q400s. Although there's nice views of the surrounding hills and the airport itself, it would be nice to have somewhere like a cafe to buy a coffee or snack besides the vending machines. One notable downside though that I've experienced on a number of occasions is that it's very difficult to get a taxi outside. There virtually never is any waiting, and when you call it can take a long time for one to be dispatched to you.

Mike M is the manager and does an amazing job. Kacie is my savior and deserves some type of Budget award. My step-mom had reserved two cars at this location and one at the Kelowna location. They got stranded in Alberta and were unable to pick the cars up on the designated day. I emailed the manager, Mike, and he responded immediately saying he'd hold the cars for us. Of course, he did and we picked up the SUVs from Kacie the day after originally reserved. They even let us leave the vehicles in the lot while we went to the Penticton Farmer's market, 2 blocks away. Days later we had to go to Alberta to drive my dad to pick up his stranded RV. Kacie was able to switch out our vehicle for a larger one with no problem. Even after our mess up and not getting to the downtown location before they closed, they met us at the airport location and made it happen. What really impressed me was the way that Kacie was able to clear up the mess that the guy at the Kelowna location had made of our rental. We told him about the crazy situation of me renting all the vehicles in the place of my step mom, who would we driving each of the three vehicles, and when they would be returned. The incompetent guy at Kelowna had me paying for a supplemental insurance that did _nothing_ for me. Kacie told me that the supplement was only for people using a credit card with car insurance on it, which I told the guy in Kelowna. She was very sweet but she was clearly frustrated that the guy in Kelowna had me paying for something that had no worth to me. She fixed our contracts and back dated them. She was patient, helpful, and all around the best car rental person I have ever dealt with. I guess it could be a small town thing, but whatever it is, I'm impressed. I will always rent from them when in the Okanagan, which is often.

The driver was great but we feel as though paying $60 each was not worth the tour and heres why: The wineries they choose: 1) The view winery (which also made us wait a substantial amount of time) only let us sample a portion of their wines. Others around us, and there was 5 stations to observe, were given 3 more wines to taste and their in house ciders which we were not offered. 2) Meadow vista, although unique was limited in scope of their wines. 3) Kitsch vineyard only had 3 whites for sampling. Our host had known this fact and told us this. In the case of kitsch winery, we feel as though either we should have been taken to another winery as compensation, or altogether been taken to another winery as offered on your website. The van didn't have any air conditioning and it was 33 degrees out.

Sure enough, around midnight, we get a knock on the door, and there he is with a smile and my car key! I cannot tell you how helpful, and kind they all were! We got driven around four different wineries in the Naramata region because a coworker had suggested we try chef Bongo's cooking (chef Bongo was a partner at the Naramata Heritage Inn, but started his own restaurant just down the road: Village Grounds - Cafe & Bistro). Karen started us with Lang Vineyards, got us to try wines from the most established vines in the region, the experience was delicious, the view was amazing, and the service was awesome. We got the maple dessert wine but truly regretted later for not getting the sparkling rose. Next was Mocojo Wines, again, amazing view and great wines, but what stuck out was the story about this winery, the design of their label and the name, definitely a must go winery! Throughout the tour, Karen made sure to check up on us, give us some tips on how we can enjoy the tastings and find out what we like, without the pressure of "you must buy something". In the end, I went from knowing nothing about wine to discovering that I'm a Riesling person and just because I think I'll like the fruit wines, doesn't mean I'll be able to find that perfect wine at an orchard winery. Unfortunately, once we were on the road, we realized we had made an honest mistake when entering our starting location into Google Maps. About 30 minutes into the drive, it became clear that we would not make the required 11:30 a.m. check-in. We immediately pulled over and called to see if we could either reschedule for the following day or receive a refund. We explained that we were visiting from out of province and that our travel time had been miscalculated due to an honest error. Unfortunately, both requests were declined. We fully understand that there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. However, we had booked the tickets only two hours before departure because we genuinely believed we had enough time to get there. Given the circumstances, and the fact that there were seats available on the following day's train, we had hoped some flexibility or goodwill could have been extended. As first-time visitors to British Columbia, it was incredibly disappointing not only to miss out on an experience that was highly recommended, but also to lose the full cost of our tickets without any goodwill or accommodation. Customer service leaves a lasting impression, especially in the tourism industry where word of mouth is so important. While we understand businesses need policies, how those policies are applied can make all the difference. Unfortunately, our experience left us frustrated and disappointed.
