We had just bought this home, which had been built in 1979, and during the move-in cleaning process we removed the floor registers and discovered lots of dust and debris in our vents, Not long after discovery we began our search of a service to clean these vents. We heard about EcoClean Home Services from multiple sources (i.e., Tom Martino, online research and a neighbor from our old neighborhood). We made an appointment and EcoClean's representative, David, knocked on our front door right on time, was friendly and professional. However, before he began cleaning, he explained the cleaning process in detail. We had lots of questions because we'd never had vents in previous homes cleaned before (didn't think they needed it). Wow, were we wrong or what!! During the extensive cleaning David showed us before photos from his cell phone, and then followed up with another shot of the same location of an exceptionally clean vent. We both had questions about our evaporative cooler on the back side of the house, and he even went to the trouble of explaining how to operate the evaporative cooler, empty it before the next winter, clean out the filters, etc. After the job was completed, he asked again if we had any questions, and proceeded to clean and remove all of his equipment. I wish I could leave a review based on their services but we never got to that point. I called and scheduled an appointment for quote and noted the rep was friendly. No one showed at the appointed time and I left a message for the company. I was a little annoyed because the time was the middle of a Saturday so it threw the whole day off for nothing. The rep called back and said his tech flaked that day and could they reschedule for -- then the line cut off. I waited for a call back and nothing. I emailed a day later and the rep replied that his phone had cut out and he could come out on Friday -- but what service was I looking for again? Every time I communicated with them it was like they didn't know what was going on. The last communication was with me trying to pin them down on a day or time to no avail. Terrible experience. The technician more or less pretending he was cleaning out registers, but he skipped at least 1/3 of them. He did not provide the promised before and after pictures, nor did he clean the AC condenser unit that I paid extra for (which I found was filled with packrat nesting). After the appointment, when I took a look for myself in certain registers I was suspicious that he might not have cleaned, sure enough they were lined in heavy dust, and I discovered a mouse carcass in one of them. I emailed pictures to the president of the company who admitted that they were at fault, claimed that he fired the technician and promised to come back and re-clean everything himself. Well, he never called back, and every time I called to confirm a time for this promised appointment I got voicemail or a person who said he wasn't available and would call me back. He responded to none of my emails trying to set up an appointment. I paid over $600 for a service that I quite simply did not get. It has been OVER A HALF YEAR that I have tried to contact them and never have heard back since his initial promise to make things right. In that time I have been very patient and polite and have posted no negative reviews. Finally, I filed a BBB complaint, and they have not responded to it. AVOID THIS COMPANY.
