I called Jump to fix a control Transformer and was pleased to get a same day appointment. Adam showed up on time and proceeded to diagnosis the issue. His expertise noticed a couple of installation errors , one of them was related to the control transformer. He was able to fix and completely remove the failing transformer and utilize the furness control panel instead, nice clean solution as the manufacture intended. The other installation error was causing condensation to not exit correctly and was leaking water that was rusting the front wall pan. I was unaware of this and was looking at having to replace a 4 year old furness if the rusting was to proceed or had already damaged the integrity of the wall. Adam checked the wall out and concluded that the heating element integrity was still good and the wall had not been compromised to the point of furness replacement. Without Adam's knowledge and skills I would be in a bad spot in the near future from the poor installation. I had a weird smell coming from my ac. Granted Thats probably the most vague complaint business would receive. Either way I wanted to get my hvac maintenance service. Received a flat quote of $89 for 25 checklist items that they would check and inspect. I guess I misunderstood the term maintenance service versus diagnostic quote. The tech spent less than 15 min at my house to come up with 3 possible (not definitive) solutions for cause of ac smells. Then emailed me one of them pretty much saying I needed to replace my whole vent system. No actual work was done on thìs visit . Even the ac cleaning would needed to be a separate appointment and charge. So just be cautious n aware of what service you're looking for. read more

So after some weirdness with booking through their AI assistant I finally connected with BJ and the office team. I always feel strange talking to a computer, but I guess if you're a small family business than that type of thing is really helpful. This heat wave has been brutal to me and my family so I was super relieved that BJ could fit me in on short notice. He came and fixed my AC with an recharge, but also looked at the whole system and helped me understand what the underlying issue was and what a permanent solution would be. I identified a leak in my Carrier unit when changing a filter (another reason it's important to remember to do these...). I called several companies that gave me the runaround on how long it would take to come out. I tried JUMP and they scheduled the next day! Best part was BJ, cool guy who doesn't try to up the charge but instead ups the service. He identified a problem with the original installation and not only cleared my drain pan but put a wedge under the unit to get it draining properly going forward...all included in the $89 service charge! My furnace was showing a diagnostic code so I called Jump HVAC. (I selected them because they had great good ratings on yelp and because of poor experiences with other repair companies that were "recommended" on rating sites.) BJ can out the next business day, at my request, diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. Adam came out when the parts came in, installed the parts and cleaned the furnace. When I had a related problem a couple of days later, Adam came back within an hour of my call and fixed the problem without charge. I was impressed with their expertise, ethics, and professionalism. I cannot say enough good about Jump HVAC. My furnace malfunctioned one evening. Based on good reviews, I called Jump; B.J. came over in the morning, quickly diagnosed the problem and wrote up an estimate for repair. We discussed the age of the furnace, etc., with him answering all my questions without making any attempt to upsell me. I ended up deciding to replace the furnace, wall-mount water heater and humidifier. The estimate seemed competitive. The crew arrived on time the next morning; they were friendly and courteous, but very workmanlike and efficient. They left the worksite immaculate. The next day they returned to install the water heater, again doing a great job of cleanup. Three days later, we encountered a glitch in the attached air cleaner. Adam came out after hours and cheerfully fixed the problem. This is a family operation and these folks are so nice to deal with from Emily, who makes the appointments and handles financing, to the installers and two young apprentice helpers. I needed my AC unit checked out for a second opinion. I had my regular HVAC service team come out for a maintenance issue and was told I needed a new AC unit. I wanted a second opinion bc I felt that it was working. BJ came out and listened to my concerns and what the previous technician said. He checked my AC and found it was working normally. To summarize the events below, we do not recommend Jump HVAC and have these lessons learned. Invest the time and patience to obtain a minimum of three quotes from customer-highly rated dealers/installers. Specify that all equipment manufacturers and model numbers be included on the quote. Research the brands and models to ensure you are comfortable with the quote. Our key mistake was being in a rush so as not to be uncomfortable in the upcoming weekend heat, and not thoroughly researching all the equipment and model numbers to be used. Our impatience was not a good reason to not invest our time in ensuring we had the right equipment and experience with such a large investment. Note to Jump: We welcome you to dispute any of the below events. Please note that we have all the pictures (including your truck, equipment model numbers, compressor/coil, gauges on the porch), the quotes provided, the text exchanges, and finally our call logs. We will happily redact any personally identifiable information and attach it as support for our review. We encourage you to do the same to support your response and to help those who read this review make a good purchasing decision. The events in sequential order: Jump tech showed up to disposition the HVAC issue (our coil had reached end-of-life). We already had a quote from another company, but we weren't thrilled that the company quoted Goodman equipment, which you can buy yourself at Home Depot. The Jump Tech did not have any tools and stated he was just brought out of retirement to assist Jump. He left and came back 1.5 hours later to diagnose the problem with tools. The tech identified that the coil had leaks and must be replaced, which was consistent with the feedback from the other installer. He did seem very knowledgeable about HVAC systems. Tech sent the quote, which was higher than the one we had received from the Goodman dealer/installer. However, we deemed this acceptable as Jump was quoting high quality equipment (Armstrong) and the model numbers that were listed on their quote supported this. Note: They did not provide a model number for the coil, and we discovered later that Jump will mix and match Armstrong compressors with coils from other manufacturers. It's important to get all the model numbers on your quote, as Jump omitted model numbers where they were using components not manufactured by Armstrong. They could install quickly, and their tech seemed knowledgeable, so we moved forward with the install. They showed up on time on a Friday. We got them started outside with the compressor, and then into the attic. Our coil, furnace, and air handler are in the attic. After removing the compressor, they checked out the attic, unloaded the new equipment, and proceeded back to the attic with the coil. At this time, they discovered they did not measure properly and brought the wrong size coil for our setup. At this point, they stated they found the right coil. However, after 1.5 hours, they stated it was still the wrong size coil after someone from Jump HVAC went to pick it up. They then advocated for us to replace the furnace, referencing its age. We surmise they did this to use equipment they had in stock, as modern furnaces are shorter while coils are now generally wider (Our unit lies horizontally in the attic), thus eliminating the space issue. Next, given our general experience with residential contractors, if there are issues at the outset, the probability of more issues and ultimately dissatisfaction with the solution increases exponentially. We informed the installers that we were likely shutting down this effort and moving on to another installer if there is no quick resolution. They next stated they found a coil that will fit. We asked for the model numbers, and after researching, we discovered they were using coils from different manufacturers than Armstrong. At this point, we also checked the coil they originally intended to install and realized it was a product from International Comfort Products (ICP) and not an Armstrong coil. We then researched this and found it is generally not recommended to mix manufacturers of components of your system. We now informed them we were shutting this effort down and moving on. They then offered a 'free' furnace, which we didn't seriously entertain as we were confident it would not be the equipment we desired, and our definition and their definition of 'free' would not likely be the same. The lead installer, who stated he is a co-owner, gave an impassioned plea to 'make it right', and asked that we not leave a bad review. This went back and forth for a bit, and we finally offered for them to requote for all Armstrong equipment with all equipment model numbers detailed on the new quote, and they should get aggressive on pricing if they truly wanted to 'make it right'. We also stated we would thoroughly research their new quote and validate that the model numbers met the level of equi read more

Our heat went out on Thanksgiving day. I thought for sure we wouldn't be able to find someone to come out and look. But jump hvac had BJ over in 45 minutes after requesting a quote!!! He was quick, honest and didn't pressure us. We ended up replacing our entire boiler system which cost a pretty penny but they did a great job. They couldn't do the replacement on Thanksgiving day but BJ brought back space heaters for us later that day. He went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of and comfortable. BJ came back the day after Thanksgiving to start the installation of our new boiler and said it would be a 2 day job, but him and his team got the job done in just one day!
