This is the only choice hotel that I've ever stayed at that doesn't have an employee on-site 24-7. Our flight arrived late and caused several issues out of our control, and when we arrived our key-cards were not in the promised location as per the email. This is no longer called the Ecolodge! This is called the Ocean Star Inn. It's been updated and is under new management. It's not a bad little place on the east end of town. Our room was very comfortable and the hotel manager was friendly. Everything worked as it should, and our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. There's an economy breakfast in the morning, and it's a bit cramped in the breakfast room, but serves its purpose. Moderately priced and on par for the area. We'd stay here again. read more

This hotel deserves more than 2 1/2 stars on Yelp. Staff was friendly and accomodating, location is great if you are going in to the Olympic National Park like us. About 2 hours or less to different part of the park. Room was pretty spacious and clean. Surrounding area were great. The hotel is close to Wal Mart, Rite Aid and many more shops. This is a borderline 1 star place, but a couple of small perks allowed me to be generous and bump it all the way up to 2 ; ) So here's the story: I rolled into Sequim in the middle of the week during September, thinking that since all the kiddies were back in school and it was the middle of the week I should be able to get a room at the Quality Inn no problem. Whoops! There was some huge group in town hogging up all the rooms so off I went in search of someplace else. I decided to go on the cheap and ended up here. And it was cheap. The other pluses were...hmm let me think about that. It was pretty old, bland, and just generally not all that attractive. The TV was small and crappy and the shower head was gummed up or broken or something so the water pressure was pretty sucky. Oh I remember! They have a mini-golf course! It's not extravagant by any means, but it's fun and free so that's pretty cool. Unfortunately I only got one decent day of weather, but I took advantage and played 2 or 3 times. And the free breakfast wasn't bad at all. Definitely not a destination place, but it was clean and not noisy and did the job for me for a couple nights. I'll try to upgrade for my next visit to Sequim though. read more

I actually signed up to yelp to write this review: The old lady behind the counter BARELY knew how to use a computer. It took forever to sign in. I stayed the night before for $55 and she tried to charge me $60 before I told her I had been there last night. She was angry when I visited the front desk several times to attempt to access their wireless Internet (unsuccessfully). I had to write this on my iPhone. The people next door had been smoking pot in their bathroom which filled my room with smoke. I'm all for partying, but not when I get tested for work. Carpet was stained. Many other places in Sequim for same price. I won't be back. read more

Check in was extra helpful and informative; she even gave me some breakfast items when she realized I'd be up and out before the breakfast started the next morning. There's no elevator so if on the 2nd floor, you will have to schlep everything up the stairs. Room was comfortable and had all you needed. Price was quite affordable. Wifi worked just fine. Did not try out the television. The first night's stay was very quiet. The second night, the room next door was occupied and I'm pretty sure we were hearing each other all night. read more

My partner and I just recently move to Sequim and have had to hunker down at the Econo Lodge for the past few nights. We stayed at several of motels on our journey out west and I have to say that this one is the most impressive to me for many reasons.. -The room is huge. I mean, we're not talking a master suite or anything, but the room we have has two queen beds, a nice view from the window, a desk, two night stands, a 40 inch flat screen tv, a mini fridge, microwave, bathroom with a shower, a cute little sofa and coffee table, our own coffee maker, and plenty of space for us and our two dogs. -The price is right. For all of that (granted, it is winter and there are only a few other guests staying here) it has only been $70/night. -The breakfast is good. They've served coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, fruit, muffins, bagels, toast, and I believe cereal. Good enough for me, and saves us from having to go out or make our own breakfast in the room. -They are pet friendly. This is very important to us because our pets are our family! It also does not cost very much for the pets to stay here with us. -The staff is fantastic! All of the employees we have encountered are very friendly and informative. They know so much about the area and about places to go, things to do, people to meet. This is very important to us, as we are new to Sequim. They have recommended so many great places to us, including the dog park down the road, and the best grocery stores in town, Sunny Farms and Nash's Organic. Our favorite staff member so far has been Jean, the night front desk woman. She has been fantastic to talk to. -The location. Right in the middle of town. Within walking distance to local stores, the dog park, and with a fantastic view of the Olympics. I think the absolute only thing I have to say that was an issue was our sink had a leak and the carpet underneath it was a little damp. But its a sink, and sinks do that sometimes. Can't really blame them for that. Overall, great place to stay in my book, especially if you're not trying to spend a fortune on accommodations :) read more

One year, during a Trip that my Darling Husband and myself took to visit my mother and her husband we stayed at the Econo Lodge in Sequim, Washington state. My mother suggested we stay here for this Trip. There is a Continental Breakfast each morning for Registered Guests as well. The Econo Lodge fills up every Summertime, but this particular year we decided to book earlier than usual.. and there was a big room available on the second floor. The Econo Lodge is a Smoke Free property. Sequim, Washington state is very, very White still. Although, I remember staying overnight with a friend of mine in the mid 1990s in Sequim, and when I was being driven to his Home I got stared at a lot... you know, because I'm Black. I did not get stared at in Sequim, Washington during this Trip to see my mother. I'm not sure why not. My mother lived in Sequim for a few years before her and her husband moved into the deep, deep woods... and I lived with them but that was in 1994, and I did not spend any time in the Downtown Area by myself back then. We recommend eating your dinners at the Alder Wood Bistro... try the Salmon, it's sooooo Deeelicious. read more

Beds are uncomfortable felt like rocks, and the floor boreds were squeaky for the upper levels which kept me my mom and my dad awake till 12 at night ,the cots are more comfortable then the beds and id there is pet fur on the sides of the bed they leave ot there, there was also mold in my grandparents shower worst pleace ove ever been read more

For the past several years or so, we have traveled to Sequim from the East / Mid Atlantic states and have always stayed at the Econo Lodge. It's not extravagant by any means, but we've always had great service from the friendly staff. They are informative about local events and places, even those more out of the way. Breakfasts were great as well. The room was clean and comfortable always. Internet readily available. While many of our relatives would stay at the Holiday Inn or elsewhere, we have always come back to the Econo Lodge. It is always a nice place to come home to after a day of visiting in the area. read more

Loved this place. My husband and I made this place our home base while we checked out Sequim for our up coming relocation there. The staff was amazing.so very helpful on topics from best chinese resturant to neighborhoods to look into. Great room. Had everything we needed to feel at home. The bed was so very comfortable,even I slept in!I am usually up ny 6am and I slept until at least 7 or later everyday. Wonderful breakfast.with lots of choices. The housekeeping staff was uber sweet and attentive to all our needs. Definitely check them out if your looking fir a nice clean and reasonably priced stay. read more

Ordinarily I would give 3 stars for a basic hotel because let's face it, it's basic. But I am giving an additional because of "meets expectations". When we travel we are not looking for the hotel to be the center piece of the trip. We need a convenient clean room, bed, bathroom. We spend our days experiencing the sites of the local area and the time at the hotel is for a nice shower and nights sleep at a really decent price. The Econo Lodge fulfills all of the above very well. They do the basics well and they have a friendly staff. Next time in Sequim, we will probably return provided their price remains competitively low. read more

The staff here is HORRIBLE and, despite what Choice Hotels reps tell you, this Econolodge does not follow policies. I had to change my flight to come in later than expected to Seattle, so I tried to cancel my hotel, which they would not let me do because it was not in their policy and they were rude that I would even ask. So, I kept my reservation and had every intention of staying at this hotel. My flight was delayed and apparently, they run a business so poorly that they close their hotel at midnight. I drove down the road, all other hotels were open. I checked in at the Holiday Inn and was greeted with warm and friendly service. I was told that this was a common problem by the front desk attendant who gave me a discount because of the stress I was dealing with Econolodge. I attempted to work through this with the hotel after the fact and they were unwilling to budge and, again, were rude. The manager who called me was short, raised her voice at me, talked over me and was generally rude and treated my like an idiot because I expect a national chain hotel to stay open to serve customers. I don't write bad reviews, I feel like if I don't have anything nice to say, I shouldn't say anything at all, but this experience was so awful I can't keep quite. I'm not the only one with serious problems with this hotel, just look at the other reviews. Awful hotel, terrible staff, poor customer service. read more

This motel has been a low budget stay. Has no elevator, lumpy bed, had no soap, coffee, shampoo, in room. Had to go down stairs to ask for clean coffee cups, etc. On checking out had the bill all screwed up. Charged on our credit card other person rooms. Over 30 mins to straighten it out. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago for one night. Has to be one of the noisiest stays ever. The walls and ceilings are so thin that you can hear every word from next door and up stairs. Could hear the neighbor snore! Kids up stairs were running back and forth and jumping off the beds on to the floor. At 10 PM I called to front desk and asked for them to take care of the problem. They didn't do anything to help. Their breakfast in the morning wasn't worth the walk across the hall from our room. Room was just So So at best. Will never stay there again. NOT WORTH THE MONEY? We've stayed at the Econolodge in Sequim a few times, and each time been happy. But our latest visit was a disaster and I would recommend that anyone considering this hotel, look elsewhere. The service is usually not an issue, and when we checked in we were greeted by a friendly staff person and had a good experience. However, there was no one staffing the desk at checkout the following morning at 10:15am. Several customers were waiting in the lobby and I asked one how long they had been waiting and they said about 45 minutes. Leaving your customers waiting for checkout for 45 minutes is completely unacceptable and shows the hotel doesn't care about its customers. I would advise looking at the many other affordable hotels in the area! read more

A Budget Motel in every sense of the word . You can stay at this place if there's nothing else available but it is not even remotely fancy. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable. The floors look dirty and the toilet bowl has a stain on it. The continental breakfast is mostly cold foods and the coffee is weak. The staff was really friendly and provided service with a smile. We really liked our stay here... Not the fanciest hotel, but what do you want for $69 per night? Room was clean, quiet, and everything worked. The heater came on when I turned it on, and stayed off when I turned it off. Staff was great, they let us park our motorcycles under the awning in front to keep them out of the rain. The restaurant next door was great. Then only downside is the breakfast... Nothing more than toast, juice cereal and coffee. But for $69, can't ask for more. read more

Charged me a $55 fee for "pet in a non-pet room." How am I supposed to know which rooms are pet rooms? I don't work here. You are supposed to give me the proper room. And when I called they refused to refund it. I will be claiming this as a fraudulent charge. read more

The staff at this Econo Lodge make it a 5 star review. Each and every one I interacted with went above and beyond and were genuinely, warm and friendly. I was traveling with a nervous kitty and they were so lovely and accommodating. No, this isn't the Ritz. Yes, it's looking a tad warn here and there. But it's clean, comfortable and affordable.
