Let me add another five star review. We called Economy Locksmith midmorning and, by midafternoon the same day, we had an appointment. Hoon, the proprietor, began work immediately after returning with the necessary parts. He worked quickly and efficiently, and did a great job of replacing two locks on outdoor iron gates. He also was able to fix a couple of other exterior locks that we assumed he would have to disassemble, if not replace. His price was fair, considering the working time, travel, and parts cost that contributed to the bill. While we hope not to need a locksmith in the future, we'll call Economy Locksmith first if we do. read more

I wish I had Hoon's number or rather the neighbors did of the people I babysit for. It would have saved me a huge headache and my pocket book. He's also quick, professional and does a really nice job. Instead I had the misfortune of being locked out of the house whilst 2 young children were inside a while back. I had to go over to the neighbors to request help, a little while later a locksmith that wasn't economy locksmith showed up - worked at trying to open the door and when he couldn't needed to drill the lock and get a new one for me. Unfortunately this cost me a pretty penny (lots of pretty pennies) and as a babysitter I already don't have that kind of money, let alone for a house that's not even mine. Fast forward less than two weeks later, the lock broke and the other locksmith couldn't be contacted. Hence where Hoon comes into play, he came over in the evening - fixed the cylinder that kept spinning and secured it into place. The best part, his pricing was reasonable and fair. Had to replace automatic door closer as it was not working properly w leaking oil on the front gate. Hon came out and tried to replace it with a new one but unfortunately did not have the right size. He then tried to adjust tension for temporary fix but didn't work either. Finally Hon just unlatched the two pieces and for now and will manually close and lock. You know when you're moving along smoothly, getting things done, and just having an all-around productive day, and then it just nose dives? That's my life. I had completely conquered my Christmas shopping, and had loaded all my bags into my trunk. As I drove myself back home, I joyfully sung my own simple version of "Oh, Christmas Tree", which soon became a full on medley of Chanti's Christmas Classics. My merriment continued as I parked my car and gathered my wallet, phone, and keys and headed to the trunk to unload my Holiday purchases. Let's make a long story short, the Grinch crawled into my trunk and pulled the valet lock, leaving me stranded in the rain (srsly) with all my Christmas gifts locked in my trunk only days before the big day. I soon found out that roadside assistance does next to nothing for lock issues, and had to resort to finding myself a decent and affordable locksmith. Economy Locksmith was incredible. Virtually all the locksmiths I called wanted me to spend close to $200 to get my trunk open. He did it for $70. He came to my house and did all the work in my driveway. My friend had just moved into a new place in the Sunset and as we were leaving he grabbed the wrong set of keys, only to realize as soon as he shut the gate behind him. To put it simply, we were in a panic-there was no way of getting back in the house or calling anyone. A perfect experience! My situation was I was locked out of my bedroom at midnight in Outer Sunset (able to get into my house). Tried the windows, no luck. Tried gently kicking it down for a couple hours. Tried sleeping on the couch, too cold. At 4am I give in and call this place first. I explained my situation and he said "ok well, it's 4am so a hundred". I've little experience with locksmiths but from what I've read, and at this hour, it seemed reasonable, cheap even. He was here within the half hour (looking a little tired and I felt awful for probably waking him up) but still very cheerful, polite, and professional. Got my room opened in no time at all, then went to pay that flat hundred (card accepted thank goodness). I mentioned I might just change the lock and only then did he ask if I wanted a key for it for fifteen. Definitely! He goes back, gets his materials, makes a key pretty quickly, and even tightened up my doorknob just for the heck of it. Now I've got two keys for my room and a more secure door. Fully recommend this guy to anyone, I'm definitely not going to hurt myself trying to kick down a door and pick a lock for 3 hours again. read more

The deadbolt knob on an old mortise lock had been locking us out a few times a month if we didn't have it positioned just right. This guy really saved the day! I'm out of state for work and accidentally given my dog sitter the wrong key to my house. I wasn't able to find another locksmith who would take a credit card by phone, everyone else wanted cash, and also said they would require proof of residence, which would be impossible since I'm a state away. This gentleman told me he was in the East Bay on another job, and would be there in an hour and a half. He showed up exactly when promised, was able to make a copy of my key from a photo I took with my phone, and charged me a totally reasonable price.
