I'm a girl who knows nothing about cars. I called ahead of time and got a quote over the phone. The guy was super friendly and was able to give me a quote. I also asked about appointments and he said walk-ins only. Luckily for me, I came at a time when they weren't busy so I was in and out in like 20 ish mins. It was fast enough that I was able to do it on my lunch break, grab some food, and head back to my office with time to spare. I had a lot of questions and he was able to answer them without making me feel like an idiot. At no point did I feel like I was being taken advantage of, which was great. The price I was quoted was what I was charged. There were no sneaky ad ons. I felt the price was decent too. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER CAR (I have a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado for instance). Went there for the first time Thursday. Guy(kinda looks like Andrew Tate) told me to drive on the highway 15mins and come back, with Cash. Both things that I found very odd, but ok whatever. Did it, came back sat in and signed some paperwork then dude said they didn't have some substance needed that they might get later in the day or tomorrow morning in order to do the smog check??? He took my name and number(that he didn't care to spell right btw) and said he'd call me either later that day or tomorrow morning. Ok..... Friday(today) comes. No call. So I end up going there at around 3pm, beforehand though, I drive around yet again (which I think is unnecessary but whatever). He said sorry just come tomorrow morning and sorry I forgot to call you. Didn't give me any reason at all and they close at 7pm??? Safe to say...I'm never coming back here. Went to another place(El Smog) and got it done within 20mins and I passed without the arbitrary "warm up your car first" bullshit. My guess was that either doing a smog check on older cars is more difficult/involved to do than newer cars and he was too lazy to do it, or he assumed my truck wasn't going to pass and didn't want to deal with that and wanted to give me the runaround mainly to deter me from giving them my business. I do NOT recommend this place at all for a smog test. Yes, they are cheap but you get what you pay for. The people they have servicing the vehicles, don't know what their doing. They have no knowledge, especially on older vehicles and I have my proof, the PROOF. They were so quick on reporting my vehicle being tampered to the DMV. I ended up driving to another Smog shop station to get my vehicle retested and I did not have any problem. I'm definitely NEVER going back. read more
