UPDATE in response to the owners reply! When my vehicle was first diagnosed, I was presented with two options: replacing the cylinder head or replacing the engine. The cylinder head repair was described as the more economically reasonable option at the time, and I relied on that professional assessment in making my decision. The repair took over one month to complete, and the cylinder head was sent to an external machine shop. Although outsourced, the repair was coordinated, billed, and released under his shop's responsibility. I proceeded with this shop because I needed reliable transportation for work and was informed the repair would take approximately a month. The availability of a loaner vehicle allowed me to continue working during that extended repair period, which was a significant factor given the timeline. After the vehicle was returned to me, it broke down on the freeway. I was then informed that the cylinder head could not be reprocessed and that the only remaining option was to purchase a replacement engine. At that stage, I no longer had a functioning vehicle, so this was not an elective decision but the only viable remedy presented. Before purchasing the replacement engine, I consulted with (David the owner) regarding where to source it and whether I should proceed. I relied on his confirmation before moving forward. While labor was not charged for the engine installation, no warranty was provided on that work. Regardless of warranty terms, the obligation to disclose safety related defects prior to releasing a vehicle remains. In his comment, he states that engine mount replacement was recommended. I was not provided with any written estimate, documentation, or verbal recommendation to replace the engine mounts prior to installation or before the vehicle was released. The condition of the mounts was identified only after I obtained an independent inspection due to ongoing noise concerns. That inspection revealed multiple broken engine mounts and a severely worn transmission mount. If mount replacement had been clearly recommended before release, it would have been documented and addressed at that time. My concern has consistently been transparency, communication, and the release of a vehicle with undisclosed safety related defects. Took my car here on Friday, spoke with David about a coolant leak. After a conversation an order was placed for a new radiator. Asked me to come back on Monday for the appointment. I've dropped off the car right when they open at 8am, and received a text saying that my vehicle was ready for pick up at 12pm. Over fast and efficient work. David even showed me the location of where the crack was on the old radiator. Overall very satisfied with the work. I tend to get anxious leaving my car with someone else to work on it due to how much work I put into getting the vehicle. But with David he made me feel like he also understands the value of what good work should be and how to do things the right way. Cannot express how grateful I am to have found David and his shop! I've been blown away with his communication, professionalism, friendliness, and transparency.  The day before my first visit here I was at our other mechanic, and our experience between them and Concierge couldn't be more night and day.  Whereas I've become accustomed to having to pull teeth for information, increased costs without explanation, and blind faith the work is actually getting done well-  Instead David communicated what he would be doing ahead of time, showed me the old parts he took out and explained why they were bad, and when it came time to pay I had a clear itemized(!) invoice, both in my hand and on my email.  When first going through the diagnosis he was honest about what was critical, what was smart, what could wait, and what was a nice to have/ don't waste your money so that I could prioritize our budget.  It felt like a VIP treatment, but that's just how he does business! My family and I was new to the neighborhood and we don't know who to bring our cars to. i checked Yelp and found David. Read good reviews, tried his services and We didn't regret trying. We're driving 2007 Honda Odyssey and 2009 volks jetta. These are pretty old cars but he was able to repair them, give really good recommendations to keep them running. Honestly, David will treat your cars like its his own. Would even recommend which ones can wait and which ones needs immediate attention--this one I really like. David and the team looked at it, walked us through the process on what needed to be done, and now the car is starting up and running great. What I appreciated the most about this process was the communication and transparency. Brought our company delivery van in 2 days ago to get it serviced. Once you walk in there you are greeted by one of the employees and directed to the manager to get your vehicle checked to see what's the issue. Surprisingly the auto shop is very organized and clean. Most places when you're outside you can smell the oil and machinery, but this spot you don't. They called me shortly and told me what's wrong was and the cost to repair. It's actually way cheaper than the other places we've gone to over the years. I'll definitely be coming back when any of our vehicles needs to be serviced. read more

First time trying this place. My regular mechanic is in North Hollywood but I was taking my niece's car for an oil change and she lives in Sylmar. I YELPed local auto shops and found this one with 5 stars. Figured can't go wrong with 5 stars and all I needed was an oil change. I pull up and the only mechanic I see is on his phone. Does not acknowledge me until I start to walk towards the office. He stops and ask what I needed. I said oil change. He replies and asked if I could come back in an hour because his boss is out and he doesn't know the prices. Aren't they set prices??? He did say I could call his boss and see if I can work it out with him. He gives me his phone number and he answered right away. He explained his child was sick and he had to go pick them up. Totally understandable. He asked if I could return in an hour and a half. I really wasn't able to so I asked if he could just give me the price for the oil change so his mechanic can get the work started. He asked what type of car, 98 Toyota Rav4. He said it would be $105 for an oil change. My mind was like wait ... what. So I asked "$105 for an oil change?" He confirmed yes. Needless to say, I came to my mechanic to get the oil change ... price $30. Now I'm wondering about those perfect 5 star reviews. #Suss. I work in customer service and this was definitely not a good experience. **Response to owner: your opportunity to service me was when I called for a quote. Yours was outrageously high. It's my opinion and I exercised my right as a consumer to go elsewhere. It's a basic oil change that doesn't require much. I've been to places that have charged $50 plus for an oil change but never heard of anything more than that unless it's at a dealership. You have customers who pay your prices, great!! awesome!! No one likes car problems, especially in the supply options of Covid-hell. I called around for a repair/replacement and was getting sadder by each call. Then, I called David. He asked that I text him the details & he got back to me in decent time. He quoted me low, maybe even wholesale pricing for parts and the honest man's labor pricing to install it. He was 50% less than what I was quoted at the next closest contender, which was quoting me a remanufactured non-OEM part. David got new OEM. When I got to the shop, David did a quick assessment of my car and found the issue wasn't what I suspected and he gave me an updated quote. Which, was yet again 1/2 the cost of his first assessment. David saved me even more money. Something we all can appreciate so much more in the days of $7.00+ gas. The shop is also very clean, well taken care of and it's very much a bonus to have David running the place; he cares. It shows on your car, in his shop, his attire and his spirit. It's been a solid year now I've gone to C.A. and with multiple different vehicles. A previous place I had frequented performing basic maintenance completely overlooked a part that was deficient related to the oil filter & just kept it in there functioning at a reduced capacity (oil seal/gasket enclosure). On-point, prompt, & straight-up - David is terrific. His shop is well-organized & it's not at all any hassle. Prices are fair & he has a beneficial points/rewards program, which provided my recent full-synthetic oil change at no co$t! Here's an important aspect: I have yet to see any problem linger & then get frustrated to need to bring a car back for the same repeated issue - nope. He nails it on the first at-bat! I first visited the shop a few weeks ago to get my oil changed on my 2006 VW Beetle, and I was in and out of the lot in about 45 minutes. During the visit, I told him my concerns for my old car that has a little over 120k miles on it, and he inspected it thoroughly to determine which services needed priority. I've gone to many sleazy mechanics who try to push services and up charge whatever, and I don't know much about cars so I usually leave every visit feeling anxious over the state of my little bug. But David was honest and upfront with what services needed to get done, how soon until it causes a bigger problem, and he even took care to find me the best parts at the best price. He was able to explain all of this in terms I could understand, so I felt confident trusting him. He put together estimates for the main issues he thought I should take care of first, with complete transparency, and he allowed me to decide for myself which services I wanted to take care of instead of pressuring me into a decision. After I received my price estimates, I scheduled an appointment to replace my worn out axles. I expected my car to be in the shop for a half day as the estimate suggested, and I was happily surprised when I received a call 2 hours after I dropped off my car telling me my car was ready. When I picked it up, David told me what was done and what needs to get done in the future, again doing so with clarity and in terms that make sense to me. He even topped off my oil when he noticed about a quart of it had leaked. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with David for my auto needs, and I know I've finally found a reliable and trustworthy mechanic.
