The customer service representative for this company was horrible. This is the first negative review I have ever posted for any company. I cancelled my service in July. The company treated my yard and charged me in August. I called customer service and asked for the representative to double check my account referring to the previous cancellation. He said he could not credit my account for the service they just completed (spider webs still in all the windows) but that someone could re-service my property. I stated that I had already cancelled once, that I didn't want any more technicians servicing the property and get this, he called me crazy! Then I asked for his name and he hung up on me!! Very untruthful company. When I signed up they explicitly told me that the cancellation fee was $35 if I decided not to go through with the full year of service. When I just called to cancel (because they charge $160 each visit for literally what amounts to 10 minutes of work and about $5 in chemicals. Further, we have continuously found spiders outside on the eaves and wanted our garage treated and have tons of bugs in there but they have not once set foot in the garage. Their services have had very little impact on the amount of pests in the home). Anyhow, they told me it was $150 to cancel, which was in the "written agreement", which I never remember signing and I remember 100% that it was $35 to cancel and I even texted my husband that number on the day it was told to me. Used this crap service for an entire year. Spider population did not change nor the snakes, stink bugs, and ants around our home. The last "service" that was supposed to be done, the tech didn't even get out of his truck aside from hanging a brochure on my door. $640.00 a year for this company to drive by your house is not only absurd but just theft. Do Not use this "service." Find a local company that will actually do what they contract. Called their customer service and they just made hollow promises to do better. We have been having problems w spider bites in our home. We were really impressed w the service agreement that worked w our budget. They also came out in a timely manner and worked w our schedule. We have a puppy, so knowing that we were working w a eco friendly product helped so our dog could be out of his cage with an hour was great. Micheal the service tech., Took time to clean up spider webs outside and then spray. He also helped us in learning what spiders were ok to have around and he pointed out poisonous spiders which we didn't even know were around our home. I've been an EcoShield customer for about four years and they never disappoint. Their technicians are uniformed, knowledgeable, and respectful. They call/text to schedule treatments and arrive as scheduled. This company is not honest at all. They knock on your door and say that they are providing service for your neighbors and they are going to give you a special offer since they are already in the neighborhood. The sells rep goes as far as pointing at the houses they service, which they don't because I checked, he even said they offer service to the Jones' which live behind our house (we don't have a neighbor with that last name either). Then the technician says "you just moved in right?" They even offer neighborhood watch apparently. So they look up houses that have recently been purchased and lie that they were in the neighborhood. They show a price chart but randomly give you a price and call it a discounted price. They say they will come quarterly and spray the entire house. They do not mention anything about a contract until the day that they come to spray the house. I never got a reminder call or text or email, which the technician confirmed. Then 2 guys showed up and the first thing they said was that I had agreed to a 24 month contract. I let them know that I was not even aware that there was a contract and no I do not want a 24 month contract. The technicians were confused and said they will call the sells rep. The sells rep called me and said that he discreetly told me about the contract by telling me that he is going to offer the same plan as my neighbors (what neighbors?) which was a 2 year contract. I don't care what the imaginary neighbors want to do, if I am being locked in a 2 year contract I would like to be aware of that. I told him that the documents he showed me was for an initial treatment at a discounted rate and for another treatment a month later but nothing about a 2 year contract. Both things that I signed had the prices and nothing about a contract which sells rep agreed. Then he said "well I am going to do something special and give you a 1 year contract." Oh well that's not special because the technician had already showed me the paperwork that included a 1 year or 2 year contract so nothing special there. As the lies continued, I repeatedly said I was not interested in being locked in a contract if I didn't know how the service was going to be. The sells rep said that the service is guaranteed and they will come back and spray until I am happy. Well that's nice but I still have to pay 5 times if I'm in a 1 year contract even if I am not happy. So be aware people. The sells reps are not honest and they do not tell the truth because they want you to be stuck in a plan and then pay to get out of the plan that you didn't agree with in the first place. If a company was honest about their service they wouldn't have to lie so much to get customers. read more

After having a horrible experience with terminix and couldn't get them to figure out why no one showed up I started looking on Yelp and Found Eco Shield!!! I'm happy I called and they were at my house the next day!! I'm so happy with the customer service we have received! We just bought our 1st home and found out that this area/neighborhood has ant issues so I called them and the lady was so nice and let me vent about my horrible experience I just encountered!!! We have had the technicians out to our house 4 times and all of them are well mannered and took time to explain to my husband and I. Also best prices I called around and I was pleased with their prices!! We found out this area has issues with stink bugs so Brian came out today 9/30/16 and took care of this issue and covered all 10 windows with a sealant so the stink bugs won't come in our house. He also took the time to make sure our ant issue was under control and took care of any spider webs that he seen outside & sprayed all around are yard.... I highly recommend Eco Shield over any other business!!!!! I'm happy that our house is ant free, SPIDER free, & stink bug free!!!!!! One happy family here!!! They can't make everything go away with just one visit.... so you have to make sure you fallow their instructions. With the issues we encountered after settling into our new house I was devastated.... but after Eco Shield I'm extremely happy with the results & the excellent customer service!!! read more

Came home to have my wife tell me that we had ants in the garage. Sure enough there was a trail of ants from under the furnace to the cats food dish. I called EcoShield Pest Control Seattle and Brian was able to come out the same day. The wife was impressed with the thoroughness of the service. I came home from work and there were no more ants. He will be back out in 30-45 days for another treatment which will also include spider control. They will come out three more times over the next year. What's really nice is that if the ants come back they will come out to retreat at no charge. I'd highly recommend EcoShield Seattle and Brian. read more

Aiming to stay objective to the sequence of events as best as we can as frustrated customers to tell about the lack of effort and follow through service we've received. We scheduled an appointment with an employee after our initial contract signing. He told my husband and I that between him and his wife, they will take care of our property and that they will do a thorough job and that they would come at any time during the quarter if requested. Instead they sent another person in place of them when we called to remind them of the appointment time (which they had been late and did not bother to let us know in advance of their tardiness). Then a few weeks later when we called about rodent activities (during the 1st quarter in which we had paid close to $300 for the initial sign up and quarterly cost already), no one picked up so my husband had to leave a message (after 3 attempts). We waited for a week and still did not receive any calls back. Thus, we called customer service once again, and then we got transferred around and around (not helpful at all but a waste of our time). We then finally told the person who transferred us around and around that we will cancel the service as the company's employees do not follow through with their words and respond in a timely manner. Customer service told us that we would be charged $220 for ending the contract early. From a customer's standpoint, we feel that we are penalized for the company's failure to provide the service they promised, because we chose to not support a dishonest and non-responsive business. When we brought up cancellation, the customer service person responded with they are hired to handle the customer service part only, they are unable to help us out in any way. There was no attempt on trying to save the company's name..... I will leave it at that. read more

I was very unsatisfied with the sales approach and customer service. The sales rep stated misinformation on their special and was pushy when I did not have the time. I attempted to cancel the contract per the rules of three days and they still charge me the standard free that they said was the discount for a 12 month contract - when the rep said that I would not be charged. Customer service rep would not escalate my call to a manger and said that the contract was in place and I had to pay. That is not how I like to do business. read more

Yes, they hire young people to knock on doors and try to sell you a two year commitment. They are courteous, and respectful of your property. So what, door sales is hard and humbling, more parents should require their kids to do this! With full understanding, the price is per quarterly visit, continuing the service after the agreement appears to be at full price. Having the green belt so close to the house wasps and spiders are abundant. I truly believe that the cost outweighs the effort of doing it myself. I'm very pleased that I can simply call for a free visit if I find a persistent pest issue. read more

We have been using EcoShield for about 2 years. When we bought our house, we also bought a colony of sugar ants. EcoShield fixed us up and we haven't had to deal with those critters since. They have come out several times if needed between servicing to do quick turnaround asks (e.g. silk worms showing up in a tree, and stink bugs on the outer siding) and those visits are free under my plan. This appears to be a scam. I couldn't get the salesperson that initially approached me in my yard to leave me alone. I never received an email copy of my contract. I thought I could get out of the contract because they said they had a money back guarantee. I had a spider crawl across my hand last night and a spider crawling on my arm when I woke up this morning. Today I called customer service and got a total run around. I repeatedly stated that I have received nothing of value for the $140 and $170 I have already been charged. The rep finally told me I could get out of my contract for $272 dollars. I told him that if another technician came to my property I would ask him to leave and if there were any more charges to my bank account from Ecoshied I would report it to my bank as fraudulent activity. I'm also not sure how I can be beholden to a contract I never received. If someone from Ecoshied comes to your house naming supposed neighbors who bought this product, tell them your neighbor Kyla said it is a scam. I will continue to try to ge this resolved so if anyone from Ecoshield wants to contact me that would be great. read more

The company claims they came out on the 29th but I have cameras above my front door and in the back in view of the entire back of the house. I was home at the time the tech supposedly came. No service tech came that day. I called the same day and that rep apologized said she'd look into and schedule a new appointment. Great, I was happy with that. I called back the next day to get the date and time of the new appointment. The first rep did not see the conversation from the previous day. So much for looking into it. The new rep offered a new appointment free of charge, but she kept wording it like I received service and required follow up. I did not receive service, it's not free, you already charged me. She put me on hold and transferred me without telling me she was going to. The second rep was understanding but I told her I just wanted to cancel, she said no problem, it wouldn't be an additional charge. She said she had to transfer me to Customer Care, she said she would speak to the next rep and explain. She didn't. I had to explain what happened all over again. Admittedly I was irritated at this point. The new rep pushed for a new service appointment, again using the phrase free of charge like I was asking for follow up. He said they were trusting me when I said the tech didn't show up but also maybe he just didn't knock. So I'm a liar apparently. I reminded him that I have cameras. He said we're all human we make mistakes. He also revealed to me that my main reason for signing up, having carpenter bees treated, was not visible to the tech but it was covered and could be added. I insisted on cancelling, he informed me that it was a $150 cancellation fee and he would request a refund for the service that I didn't receive but they would need to speak to the tech before it would be approved. So the intial sales guy made an error by not making the notes visible, the tech made an error by not showing up, the rep I spoke with the day of the supposed service made an error by not scheduling a new appointment, the first rep I spoke to the next day made an error by saying she didn't see notes from the conversation from the previous day, the second made an error telling me it was free to cancel, but I should pay them to cancel and their not even guaranteeing to refund the $129 I've already been charged for services that were not completed. read more

EcoShield Pest Control sent a technician over to my house to do an indoor spider spray. That technician had COVID and was returning to work without a negative test. I asked when she had had COVID and she avoided the question. I am a high risk and the only way I found out about the technicians health status is because I asked her how she had been as she was entering my house and she told me she had COVID and today was her first day back. When I reached out the company they couldn't have cared less. Why didn't they just send a different tech out to me since I needed interior spraying? The company is putting customer's at risk. They were nice enough to not charge me when I asked, but that is kind of expected seeing as they didn't perform the interior spray as requested. Bad company, bad policies, do not trust them. read more

I'm really impressed with Ecoshield. We had ants by the garage and a bird feeder in the back yard that led to a rat sighting. The squirrels chased it away, but still... if you can see one rat out in the open, there are probably a lot more you can't see... I was also concerned because I had seen a few carpenter ants on our backyard deck. :( Lastly, I don't fit in our crawlspace (I'm 6'7") and my wifey politely said "Hell no" at the suggestion of her going down there. Ecoshield was in the neighborhood servicing another house, so I asked Ecoshield for some help. They took a look around the house and took a report of my areas of concern. Then I asked if they could come back at 8pm to talk with the wifey, which they did! (Great Service) She mentioned she hated all the spider webs in the nooks and crannies of our home and guest house. Ecoshield gave me a neighborhood discount (saved me $100 bucks) because many of my neighbors were being serviced at the same time. Ecoshield arrived exactly on time (despite I-405 traffic) and completed the service on both our home and guest house. They took me outside and walked through what they did and checked out our crawl space for us. We are really happy home owners now and have signed up to have Ecoshield check our house bi-annually to make sure none of the problems return. Also, if we see a return problem between now and next service, Ecoshield said they will come and take care of it for free. They did all this with the utmost professionalism and politeness. I used Ecoshield for a year. The sales guy came to knock on my door saying he's servicing my neighbors and I should consider their service. I signed up for the service and contract said I need two consecutive services in two month, followed by a quarterly service. $150/each. Their technicians are usually pleasant, but doesn't seem to be professionally trained for pest control. They just cleaned up the exterior of the house and light fixtures and send me a bill afterwards. They never go down to the crawl space to check if there is any pest activity. I canceled the service after fulfilling the contract, because I was told there is $150 fine if I canceled early. Their sales team kept pressing me to schedule the next appointment and offering me discount for another contract. I refused to get on the hook again. For the jobs they did, I'm fully capable of doing it by myself. And I will hire a real pest control person to check our crawl space. read more

The service provided by this company it is very disappointing; they do not take really good time to spray all around the house, it is always that they want to complete their service as fast as they can and after a couple of months of my last service my house it is full of spiderwebs basically showing that their products are very low quality; I have had way better results by using products like Ortho Home Defense (around $16) with which one application lasted a year than the results using EcoShield; horrible service, low quality products and I will never recommend this company. read more
