Unfortunately Ed and Murphy's was sold and has changed again. It's now known as 501-Pizza.com. Again. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza, a Hawaiian pizza, fried mushrooms, and used a coupon for free order of chicken tenders with the purchase of 2 large specialty pizzas. The Hawaiian pizza was okay. The CBR pizza was so salty and the grilled chicken on it was not like the grilled chicken that Ed and Murphy had. Tasted like all the other Sysco food junk. The fried mushrooms are now frozen already breaded Sysco food and not good. Ed and Murphy's used to hand bread their mushrooms and they were so good. I was excited to try the CBR pizza because Ed and Murphy's made the best homemade dressings, the new owner used Sysco jar ranch and it's not good at all. I wished they kept the same fried mushrooms and the salad dressings, it's very disappointing to be served Sysco foods that are already prepared. Restaurants that take shortcuts are nothing special. Pretty great pizza, every other visit. My issue here is my order was messed up, I called they offered to make it right, however - no delivery to my home could be offered. I understand times are tough and finding employees is a struggle, so I figured I would just go back and not cause a fuss. The pizza was made right and the first few slices we had, since those who wanted that pizza picked at other apps we got etc were great. I just reheated the pizza, once again tasting great.. but after a slice and some of the second piece - I'm then I'm greeted by a piece of plastic in my mouth. Also, they were not empathetic at all for sending me back out for pizza while my family ate their dinners. Take your chances, sometimes it's great! I called and ordered a large 3 topping pizza and a large chicken finger w/ a side of honey mustard. First things first I ordered from them because they are very close to my place and I had never had their stuff. I went on here and saw mostly favorable reviews and made a call. The person who answered the phone was very polite and took my order without any issue, and when I received my food the order was all there and then some. The order total was under $30 which now a days is actually a solid value and the delivery guy was very quick. Everything was very solid, not mind blowing, but incredibly solid to the point that I'd have no issue making it my go to for this area. We've tried just about everything on the menu. Their pepperoni pizza in my opinion is one of the better ones that I have tried in this area. My kids always order the garden salad with the tangy honey barbecue chicken fingers, and they asked me to order it once a week minimum. The Cajun wings are my favorite here and their ranch dressing is homemade and awesome! Customer service is really good. Have had takeout several times, subs and pizza but yesterday I called in the early afternoon for 3 pizzas to be delivered at 6:45pm for a birthday party. The driver was on time, very pleasant and the pizzas were hot and delicious! What I didn't know were the cooking options of light well done and well done for their pizzas until yesterday. Food here is always hit-or-miss. I ordered a pizza with grilled chicken and it was not great. Chicken was very pale, no color from being grilled. It also had an old taste like maybe it was cooked earlier, cooled, and then added like any other topping. Do not get a Whoopi pie! The filling tastes like it's only Crisco. read more

We found this place on Yelp while going to visit my daughter in Sandwich. My husband got the meatball sub. I got the make your own calazone with ham, ricotta, mozzarella and red sauce. We also got a side ceaser salad and fries. Everything including the meatballs and Caesar dressing was homemade. We ate at the store and everything was super fresh and hot out of the oven. Not sure if it was the owners who served us but they seem to know everyone and very accommodating to patrons requests. Can't find these kind of places in Virginia where we currently live. After a bad experience with the previous owners, we were hesitant to try again but the new owners have taken the formerly generic pizza joint and turned it into one of Londonderry and surrounding areas best options for takeout or even eat-in. I spent some time inside since my daughter was in drivers Ed next door. After speaking with the new owner, I found out exactly how much food is made right there from scratch and sent home with samples of croutons and ranch dressing. I've never been so excited to go some and order a salad! We ordered pizza, 2 types of fries, and the sticks and stones. Everything was so fresh! The seasoning and cook on the fries was perfect. The pizza was delicious and just the tiniest amount of perfectly greasy because it is pizza after all. The croutons are a must try. I saw a heaping mound of nachos come out of the oven and was ready to steal them from the man who picked them up. But my favorite thing so far was the "stones," the most delicious jalapeño poppers I've ever had. I'm glad I'm the only one in my house who loves jalapeños because I got to have them to myself. This place sucks. They are rude and have no time to speak to customers. If you can't rattle off your order in 2 seconds forget it. I called and they said "lets go ma'am time is of the essence, I have customers here..." Am I not a customer because I'm on the phone? This is not the first time I've encountered this from them and I never write bad reviews but after 3 times, the benefit of the doubt and the continued bad attitude forget it. Situated amongst some of the more well known pizza-based eateries in North Londonderry, 501 certainly holds its own. Its a family run pizza and sub shop with a pretty standard menu but with quick service, friendly employees and tasty food. I've only had the buffalo chicken sub at this establishment, but its easily the best in town (its even better with grilled onions and peppers!). Other co workers of mine have expressed their liking of the chicken parm sub as well. I'll update this review once I've had the pizza, which is next up on my list. The one drawback to this little shop, however, are the flies. I noticed that there were a few of these critters flying overhead at my last visit. They didn't seem to go anywhere close to the grills, but it was still a point of concern. Edit: Finally had the pizza, and it was rather disappointing. However, the subs are still great. A co-worker of mine ordered a Chicken Finger Sub with extra bacon and got what looked like almost a pound of bacon on his small sub no charge! Bottom line: Go to 501 for subs and chicken, but skip the pizza. read more

I have had take out from 501 Pizza twice now, and will continue to do so many more times in the future. The employees who answer the phone and work in the restaurant are incredibly friendly. The first time my husband and I ordered a crispy chicken cutlet sub, pastrami sub and spicy fries. Both subs were excellent. The fries were also great and the portion size generous. A small is more than enough for two people. The second time we ordered from 501, we had the meat lovers pizza. I really liked the crust, sauce and toppings. So I just called to order a pizza for delivery. Gave my address and the pizza I wanted. They said there is a $20 minimum and the pizza was $15. Called back and added poppers(which was over the $20). They said that it still wasn't enough to deliver to my address in Londonderry. Should have given me a different minimum when I called the first time. Very unprofessional.
