Ed is a master electrician who actually does the work himself - assisted by journeymen assistants. I'm sick and tired of having a contractor/master tradesman come and give an estimate only to have an apprentice arrive later to do the work. I have used Ed for two electrical jobs Both times he did great work and surpassed my expectations. He installed a subpanel in my new workshed and then a complete Master Service Panel replacement and 200 amp residential service upgrade for my house. My old service panel caught fire in the middle of the night during a heavy rain storm. I called his answering service and Ed came over within a half hour!!! First Kerlin in the office is very professional and gets back to you when they promise. THey even called after they were closed! Ed and Herman came by promptly as scheduled the next day to fix my mom's kitchen electrical problem. A series of multiple outlets were not working despite the panel showing none of the circuits were tripped. Ed and Herman diagnosed the problem very quickly by testing each breaker at the panel and discovered a faulty connection. THey then replaced all outlets, including installing a needed GFCI. One of the 50 year old junction boxes needed replacing and Ed did that as well. They were done in less than two hours and cleaned up everything so it looked spotless. Omar performed most of the work and was easy to work with and very neat, removing and replacing drywall and wall insulation that was in the way of the wiring. Last year we replaced our gas clothes dryer with a new electric dryer. The dryer had a series of malfunctions, shutting down repeatedly. Both the dryer and the electric circuit were in question. We recently called ED Electric after another shutdown. The dryer stopped and restarted after appliance service calls as well as electricians testing a new circuit. The reason for these events was difficult. Ed Mayorta, the owner, followed up his technician, Omar's service for testing the electric circuit again. The office was friendly and reassured me about the owner's 30 years of experience. After 9-months operation the dryer shutdown again. I was impressed by the owner, Ed, and his extra efforts to find a remedy. Based on repeated servicing, ED Electric was an excellent resource. I had a small job that ended up requiring about two hours of labor and $100 in parts (50A breaker, GFCI breaker and outlet) that ED Electric completed for $500 total. Subtracting $100 for parts, the implied labor rate was $200/hr. I was pleased with the quality and timeliness of the work but I feel like I paid a premium for it. They did take the time to do the job right and to code, which I appreciate. Both of the electricians who came to my home were courteous and professional.
