We stopped here on the way home from BC and it was wonderful. The servings are huge (a small one scoop is actually like 3) and the flavors are so good! I'm pretty boring, so I got mint chocolate chip, but you can combine them and make a unique flavor profile just for you. My friend got butter pecan and coffee chocolate chip, which was pretty amazing. It was friendly, the place was clean, and it was easy to just pop in. It's pretty inexpensive and worth the stop. Ice cream nirvana. We stopped in here after a day of cheese tasting. Yep, if you're doing to do dairy, go big or go home. This store is much bigger than the other store in Lynden on Grover Street. There are gallons and gallons of ice cream. You can even get a 5-gallon tub! This location is the place to go to get your Edaleen Dairy ice cream fix. They had many of the same flavors as the Grover store plus a couple new ones. I got the Coffee Almond Fudge at the Grover store and decided to order it here, curious if it would taste the same or if there would be a variation. Nope, it was just as delicious. I knew Edaleen's ice cream was cheap but didn't stocking up and taking it home didn't even occur to me. Until I saw the shopping carts filled with cartons of ice cream. All the Canadians were filling their carts to bring it across the border. Next time I visit, I'm buying a 5-gallon tub, packing it with dry ice and checking it to bring home. read more

Came here with a friend while doing a run to Lynden, BC. She said we had to stop for ice cream. First time I had been here. Got a scoop of pumpkin which didn't taste like pumpkin at all, just vanilla with cinnamon. However the ice cream was very thick. $4.25 with tax for 1 scoop of meh flavored ice cream isn't worth the stop. This would be a 4 star review if the unhappy server had at least attempted to try to be kind and patient with my friend who asked for a waffle cone mashed up into the cup since she was driving. She told her to mash it up herself after rolling her eyes at her. The cashier was also not enjoying life and made it known by her grumpy attitude when cashing us out. read more

I have been lucky to have the second location in Blaine and have not been back to this location in awhile - gives one a reason to take the Lynden crossing when the Peace Arch is going to be over an hour to cross! I love this dairy and began craving their ice cream before I even left the house, knowing I'd be passing by one of the Edaleens on my way to Vancouver. The young folks who work here are always really pleasant and don't mind you tasting several of the ice creams before making your final decision. Often a stop for us with the kids on our way to Bellingham or Birch Bay! They do have a location in Blaine as well! The ice creams are HUGE and so reasonable! My in-laws live in Lynden and aside from the large amount of dairy farms that smell of bowl movements and the amazing rows of raspberry and blueberry bushes that give off unbelievably amazing berries, lies this little dairy with their soft serve ice cream as well as their dairy-maid ice cream. If I lived here, I'd weigh 400 lbs easily just from this dairy! However, I'm far too metropolitan and wouldn't live here just by principle. My wife and inlaws took me here for the first time a few years ago and I figured it would be good, but I didn't expect the soft serve to be THAT good. Aside from Vanilla, Chocolate, and swirl soft serve, they also have a specialty flavor. This year when we were visiting the folks, they had mint. We had to go twice during our one week stay and once during our layover on the way back to Los Angeles. Edaleen also has a variety of take home ice creams to choose from and even sell them in 5 gallon sizes. That seems ridiculous until you try their ice cream and then wonder how you can fit one of those in your suitcase and keep it cold for a 3 hour flight. Aside from visiting the in-laws, a major highlight to being in this area is going to this dairy. I think about it while packing my bags, checking my luggage, and sitting through mom-in-law's home-cooked dinner. If you're in the Seattle area and want to go up to Canada, take the Aldergrove crossing and stop at this dairy before heading into Canada. My family stopped here to grab some milk before heading over to Canada ad little did I know I was in store for some bomb soft serve. They have a few favors to pick from and I ended up choosing chocolate and vanilla swirl, mmmm! Plus it was piled on high! This was the best soft serve ever! I just minused one star because I felt really rushed to order and since I didn't know how their system works I just went ahead and ordered whatever my cousin did. I love this place! I have been going here since I was just a young skinny broad, when this family-run business was just a small shack with a few cows and they only served soft serve ice cream. It has been pretty amazing to watch this business grow and keep true to its origins of serving delicious home-made dairy products. I dragged the BF here for his first time on our mini-road trip to Seattle, and he was astounded that a gigantic waffle cone filled right to the bottom with ice cream was only two American dollars (the Canadian dollar was even at par there!) Typically when you go a gellato place in Vancouver you get one little scoop for about $3-$4 in a boring flavourless cone. The only problem with getting an ice cream at Edaleen is that once you get back in the car to drive, you gotta eat that whole thing before it melts on your lap! That is no easy feat, especially if you get the chocolate peanut butter flavoured one, that is so rich you spend most of your time trying to chew the peanut butter chunks stuck to your puckered cheeks. Its no wonder so many Americans call us "cheeseheads" when they have places like this to buy dairy products at. Had a mixed experience here the other day. Stopped for ice cream with the family and although the ice cream was great the service wasn't. The two gals working there were pretty rude. Besides being short and unfriendly the entire time when it came time to pay she asked me "credit or debit?" I responded credit and she ran it as a debit. Not a big deal but when I expressed it was supposed to be credit she was very snotty and said in a bratty tone " you said debit..." even if that was the case the attitude was so unnecessary. They really need to find a better way of keeping the floor clean. My husband says it looks like they're using a dirty mop. every time my family and i drive up to Abbotsford to visit family, we always stop for ice cream!

The clerk, Desiree, was quite possibly one of the rudest, most off putting people that I have had the displeasure of crossing paths with in a long time. She was rude to my mother, yelled, barked orders and was totally out if line with her treatment of my mother, my 3 year old daughter and I. She snapped at my mom for no reason when it was my mom's turn, telling her to step up to the register. My mom politely asked for a sample of ice cream, only to be told that she had to pay first then get it. My mom then repeated that she wanted a sample, to have Desiree scoff annoyed and stomp over, scoop a small amount of licorice flavored ice cream on a tiny spoon and the thrust it rudely toward my mom and say "Here!", Then stomp back to the register. My mom then approached the register with her items, called me up to add my cheesecake to her order, then asked Desiree for a double scoop of ice cream. Desiree then very rudely (and getting ruder by the moment) reiterated that it must be paid for first. I then asked Desiree her name. She replied "Me!?" And when I said yes, she snapped back "My name is Desiree!" I told her that she was being rude for no reason and that it was unnecessary, to which she replied "Well, that's funny cause I just had two people tell me what a great job I'm doing!" I told her that I wasn't talking about them and that her attitude and rudeness toward my mom was ridiculous. She then barked " Go ahead and complain to my manager! I don't care!" She then stomped away, leaving all of our items and returned with a business card and slapped in Palm down on the counter. My mom asked her to please stop, to which Desiree retorted "Fine, then I won't help you!" She then pushed all our items back toward us on the counter. We picked everything up, went over to the other register, we're helped by the other girl, including her scooping the ice cream, and left. I called the number on the business card but still have not received a call back from the manager. read more

Overpriced ice cream for what you get. There's really nothing that makes the ice cream amazing, just that it's local. Local and Dutch, means overpriced. I recently bought some "Fudgy Wudgy". I might as well have bought plain chocolate ice cream. There was one thin strip of fudge. Thinking maybe I just bought a bad one, I purchased another. No difference, one thin strip of fudge. I spent half the money on a pint of Tillamook fudgy chocolate ice cream. There was fudge and plenty of it. Creamy smooth, better than Edaleen and half the price. My opinion if it matters, is that if you're looking for the experience of an ice cream shop, then you'll get it here and pay way too much for it. The taste is nothing special, their add ins: cookie dough, fudge, coffee are mediocre, like a Safeway select quality. Save your money, and buy twice as much at the grocery store. read more
