I can't stress enough how bad this place is…read more I like the Stephesn green branch and even the one in Blackrock, so when the one in Dundrum opened (above the cinema), I went like a little eager beaver. But everything was so awful! The service was so slow - they make you wait for tables when there are lots free, but there isn't ever enough staff to accommodate the tables, so you have to wait until a table in a particular waiter's section comes free. SO annoying! Then when you do get a table the service is really slow and the food is awful. One particular time my sister found a gummy bear in her chicken salad, my chicken ciabatta was cold and we never got our side orders. The waiter was so apologetic and really nice, but there was nothing he could really do. I ended up feeling really sorry for him - it wasn't his fault, clearly the kitchen staff couldn't handled our EXTREMELY complicated order. Not! It's a fun place to go for cocktails - but be warned. They're 90% ice, especially the big fishbowl ones. Don't be fooled!

I have to say I thought that TGI's would be an amazing dining experience. Burgers, beer...bliss…read more But of course, to every silver lining there is a cloud. Underneath all the wacky hats and kitschy charm of TGI's, is poor food, poor service and uncomfortable seating. The only points TGI's earns in my eyes is that it has some cheap beer and cocktails offers but as many other similarly-themed restaurants and bars do the same kind of offers in these recessionary times, it doesn't really stand out. Quite the disappointment.

There are great little nooks and corners that allows for intimacy amongst guests, as well as long tables that can accomodate larger groups. Also, this pub has an excellent beer garden, complete with heaters and a small fountain. The carvery lunch is from 12-3pm, is very popular here, and at times it can be difficult getting a seat for lunch. There is also a large parking lot adjacent to the pub, which allows for plenty of parking, and it's free. The pub is very accessible by bus (the 17 and the 44 stop directly in front of the pub) and by the luas (Dundrum stop), which is about a five minute walk away and can be seen from the bridge of the luas. However, this pub does have a reputation for being a bit of an "old man's pub," which is a shame, since it is actually quite a friendly and delightful place. I don't mind it being known as such, since I consider it a pleasant little secret where I can get away from the usual hectic bar scene in Dublin. Please make note: The map shown here is not accurate. Uncle Tom's Cabin is located directly on Dundrum Road right next to the Topaz Petrol Station which is also easily visible from the Dundrum stop on the luas.

A good pub is a good pub, its about getting the right atmosphere and comfort level and bloody hell where did that night go!? All in all, not at all bad.

The food was really good. I had the granola and my friend had the French toast. Would recommend either. The coffee and tea were also good. Overall, just a really nice place. The price seemed pretty standard from what we've seen so far.

neighborhood spot for breakfast & lunch. cute neighborhood near Dublin City U campus and Croke…read morePark. short breakfast menu with some pastry selections. wife chose a croissant to begin and i picked a scone with butter/jam/whipped cream. the scone was listed as served warm and came barely above room temp. it was also quite dry and crumbled when touched by a knife. but the addition of jam and cream made the pieces pretty tasty. the croissant was significantly better, flaky and fresh. with jam even better. the house organic granola my wife chose was declared pretty bland even with the berries, mint, and yogurt added. a drizzle of honey did a lot to improve the taste. my choice of eggs benedict was intriguing as it was listed as using Parma Ham-a type of prosciutto-instead of a more traditional ham. unfortunately the execution didn't meet expectations. the ham, instead of being sliced and soft, was similar to a chipped beef, crisp and in little chunks. it was piled on one side of the bread without egg or hollandaise. the egg was perched on the other side, nicely poached but covered in the blandest hollandaise i've ever tasted. a good dash of pepper helped but between the meat and the sauce it wasn't a good choice. also the "muffin" it was served on was really dry. our service, while attentive, was made a bit difficult by a communication barrier with the server who i believe did not have English as their first language. she was trying very hard though. maybe another day and another meal-lunch or brunch-would be different but on this day we left disappointed.

Good spot for a greasy burger, cheesy chips and milkshakes…read more Their burgers are average. Lots of different varieties on the menu. Chicken burgers, beef and even veggie, all with a diff toppings. Ther big, so if ur starving, burger def the way to go. Their chips are goooood. Plain cheesy chips are my fav. other good chips are the garlic cheese chips and bacon cheese chips. They have been serving these since I was very young, and they are still as luscious as they have ever been. The milkshake menu if forever growing. What started off as chocolate, vanilla or strawberry has now developed into an abundance of flavour options. Oreo, Apple pie, peanut butter and jelly, Nutella, birthday shake, strawberry cheese cake, brownie... The list goes on and on. My personal fav is the Oreo malt. Yum yummmm What brings me to eddies at the moment tho is their "Itzy nachos". Tortilla chips topped with fresh salsa, cheese sauce, hot jalapeños, sour cream and guac. And at only €3.50 a bowl. They are delllllish. Nachos nachos nachos. I wanna eat them all dayyy errrrry day. Eddies been around for years and years, so I find its always reliable. Good quality, fast food style grub in a fun american diner. Opens quite late also, which can be good and also dangerous, for late night cravings :)
