I had a really disappointing experience at Eddie's Alterations. When I walked in, the man there didn't greet me or make me feel welcome at all. He just stared at me, which made things uncomfortable right from the start. When I asked if he could do a few extra services, he didn't really respond, just looked at me and said, "We're really busy." I asked why, and he replied, "Because I have a lot of clothes, can't you see?" It came off as rude and dismissive. He didn't offer any recommendations or try to be helpful in any way. The whole time it felt like I was bothering him just by being there. Definitely not coming back, this was by far the worst experience I've had at an alterations place. read more

Went by 29Palms Base uniform shop and they suggested Eddie's. Apparently they do a large amount of our areas military for uniform, patches... an service animals patches. Quality, value, reliable. I am truly impressed. Went back and had them make my Levi jeans into shorts and again perfect. read more

Eddie altered my wedding dress and my soon to be husband's three piece suit. Both turned out beautifully! I was really impressed with how great my dress turned out, he even managed to keep the pockets! The prices are super reasonable as well. read more

For the entire time I've been stationed in 29 Palms I've gone to Eddie's for every uniform from Service Charlie's to Dress Blues for the Ball, and from each rank from Lance Corporal to Sergeant. Thay have kindness and lower prices when I told them about a different cleaners and their practices to raise their eyebrows and we're surprised but still found something nice to say about them. That's why I think they're kind but they still charge me three dollars less for my dry cleaning. I'm happy. read more

Dropped off 3 expensive coats to be dry cleaned. Showed up to pick them up and they don't have them. Of course I lost my claim ticket so they insist I'm lying. But why the hell would I be lying to steal coats? Ha this place is a scam. It was 3 coats valued over $800 and now I have nothing. And the best part is they didn't even refund me the $36 I paid. I came to Eddie's for an alteration on my prom dress. As someone who's never worn an actual gown before, I didn't know the proper lengths I should have requested so I asked his opinion, and he was very knowledgeable and actually knew what would be an acceptable alteration without ruining the dress. When asked when it would be available to pick up, he only gave us a couple days to wait (the Marine uniforms were first priority so that was understandable). When I got it back, it looked perfect. Eddie's a very nice man who knows and gives quality work and quickly! Very affordable as well. Many Marines come here for their uniforms to be worked on, but he is also great with others like gowns for Marine balls or even for prom! 5 stars without a doubt. read more

I originally was going to give it 4 stars. Instead decided to hold off and receive my clothes before making a final judgement and it ended up unsatisfactory. Here are the results: Good: - Tailored my clothes to the specifications I requested. Bad: - Employee kept telling me what I was allowed or not allowed to tailor like it was his clothes. If I am paying for a service I expect it to be done to my request. - Employee told me if I wanted it dried clean, I said no, he did it anyways and charged extra. Employee does not have very good listening skills. - Final price came out to be $56.00. Employee tried to charged me $65, I had to point it out. So not only did I specified not to dry clean, but they did it anyways to charge me extra then after that, hoping that I wouldn't noticed, they charged me even more when I received my clothes. The first screw up I took as a simple mistake, the second time in the same day, definitely not. They were just trying to scam me, will not be coming back here again. read more

Very, very poor job on my very simple gown. I asked for the gown to be taken in through the bodice and hemmed. The only thing that was done decently was the hemming. I had someone else redo his job and she saw that he barely took an inch in, when he very clearly saw how small framed I was and how much needed to be pinned/sewn in. He never asked to see it after I got it back, which is odd considering usually someone would want to see if anything needs fixing. Either he didn't understand my very clear, simple directions or this is just his standard of work. He rushed me in and out and I was too upset to say anything to him. The whole experience was very awkward and overall a huge turn off and ripoff. I will NEVER go back here for anything. HUGE waste of money and time. Save your money and go elsewhere if you're trying to get anything besides uniforms altered! read more

Took a pair of utilities in to have name tapes made and sewn on. I called around asking for prices and Eddies was less than half the price of several other places. At first I was kind of skeptical because it was so affordable. Then I asked the soonest I'd be able to pick them up (I was in a bit of a hurry) his response was "whenever you need them". No hassle, no extra charge, nothing. Just, "sure I can get them to you tomorrow". In the end, the work was perfect. I will certainly be going to Eddie from now on. read more

Called this morning to see if they made name tapes and how fast can I get them made and sown on. The gentleman said today so he asked me to text him the base info : name, branch, type of uniform and he will have it ready when we got there. My husband walked in and came out about 15 mins later with his uniform. The employee put the name tapes on as he waited. Thank you for fast service! read more

Best alteration I've been too. I have taken my all my uniforms to eddies. They defently know what they are doing, and made sure all my uniforms fit me perfectly. Took my two sport coat to Edie's last week not knowing what to expect. Edie was very knowledgeable and explained how he was going to do the work and I was impressed.
