Today was the first time I have been back to Joshua Tree Laundry in 20 years. It was very clean and the washers and dryers were working well. Honestly the machines are nice. The place is clean. But the pay system ShinePay is obnoxious and there is no one to help. Nowhere to get cash to pay. I gave the system $4 PLUS they took a .35c fee and it did not work at all. Now I have to do a dispute w a bank before I delete this app and probably cancel my atm card. I am pissed beyond belief. Convenient app connected mobile pay option for those not wanting to lug quarters around - yet every machine still provides the option to do so. Two outdated vending machines - one for snacks and the other for laundry essentials that get the job done. Adequate seating indoors and outside on a shady stoop. This place has really been cleaned up. It has been here for years, but it recently got a nice makeover with new machines. I don't personally go to laundromats very often but occasionally I need to wash large bulky blankets. I don't remember the price of the machines, but it wasn't bad. The location is good and super easy to find. It is located right in the heart of downtown Joshua Tree in the same area where the farmers market happens on Saturday mornings. Photos attached. Clean place with ac, small clean bathroom, vending machines full of laundry detergent, water, and snacks. The biggest machines are "6 load" washers, which fit my couch cushions. I had to use all 4 of those. Then there's 4, 3, and 2 load washers. Pricing is reasonable. The coin dispensing machine takes bills up to $20 and works perfectly. At 3pm there were just a few people and by 5:30pm it was packed, so go before the end of the day. Everyone was wearing a mask except a friendly older lady who is over wearing a mask. This place is filthy. I have been coming here because it is the least dirty of the laundry mats in the area. I have never seen any washers dryers wiped down or cleaned. The bathrooms at a rest stop are cleaner than this place! Hard to believe that the Health Dept. does not close this dump! read more

What's up with locking me out at 6:03pn when they are supposed to be open til 7:00?!?! The lady came running out to my car as I parked and she knew I was coming to do laundry so waving her arms and yelling tells me, "YOU'RE TOO LATE! YOU CANT COME IN!!" I told her I never use the dryers and just wanted to do a wash load that takes 30 minutes, tops. Nope! She licked the door!!! I was counting on washing my clothes before my trip abroad was n two days and live over 35 miles away, with no other laundromat options. Very VERY unhappy!!! (Not the first time she's been acting in her own best interest instead of the patrons! She disappeared for hours (others said she had been gone for s long time before I arrived) while my washing machine froze up full of my clothes and water. Said she was having dinner!) read more

Absolutely Terrible Company. If you are able, I highly suggest going to any of the other three laundromats in the yucca valley area, the staff is so beyond rude. Note they are extremely protective of their parking threatening to call the sheriff on us for being in their spot during a farmers market. read more

Stopped at 6:00 pm to have my laundry dryer because my dryer broke. I was turned away because the laundry mat closes at 7:00 pm. Now I will have to rewash my close and take them somewhere else tomorrow. read more

The washers were a little pricey but all the machines are new, nice, and clean. I was able to do a wash for about $3 and it takes 24 minutes. Then a dry for $1 which took an hour. Happy with the place but there was a bit of trash everywhere. The hours are limited and the last wash can start at 5:30pm. read more

Just came at 6 pm so kids could do a load of laundry for school and the rude old senior kicked us out pointing at a hand written sign saying no loads after 5:30 pm even if we just wanted to use the washers. Supposedly they close at 7 pm. This is very BAD customer service. read more

Lady that works here is really rude and snappy. She's crabby every single time we go. If not to us then to whoever crosses her path. Im surprised she even has a job. This is the the only laundry mat in Joshua Tree, I think, unfortunately there isn't one in 29 Palms At All however this one wasn't very clean but the worst thing was the woman who works there is extremely rude, condescending with a horrible attitude. read more

I can't believe this place has four stars. Every time I come there is never an attendent. The place is filthy. Machines or dirty on top and have finger prints everywhere. The floors are disgusting and caked in black goo. The carpets are never vaccoomed. The bathroom has not been scrubbed since I've been coming for a few months. I always carry disenfecting wipes and actually cleaning it half ass a few weeks ago or else it would look worse. There is no pride of ownership here. This place is aweful read more

Place is clean new machines can pay with phone... However, wash machines show 3 slots where soap can go. One is labelled liquid detergent, so I put my soap there. Machine never flushed it out during wash cycle, so hurriedly added more to another slot. Now my stuff is on rinse and still way soapy. Asked attendant and she said to use different slot...That this happens all the time, but there's nothing she can do. All I can do is buy a whole other wash cycle to rinse. I suggested if this happens all the time, there should be a sign explaining to people where to put soap!!!! It's not rocket surgery... No response from attendant... apologies and explanations, but no action to correct. Maybe I can save someone from same mistake since this place obviously doesn't care!!!! read more

The machines and prices are actually pretty okay but the people who work here are EXTREMELY rude. They basically start shutting down the place an hour before they're supposed to close. They have brand new machines that do an awesome job of cleaning. But best of all they have the the shine pay app. No more coins! I just hold my phone up to the machine, it pays from my shine pay acct and starts. Love it. I don't have to mess with the change machine anymore. Talk about convenient. read more

I have received no freebies nor do I know the owner of this establishment. The cost is high. $3.00 for just one load of laundry. Not the reason for this posting. We're locals. We live across the street from the J.T. laundry. I came in just to grab a few quarters. I said so. To the owners or attendants ( not really sure which). The woman I spoke to asked where I lived and, based solely on that information, she refused to allow me to use her quarter machine. If I lived anywhere else I would have been able to use the change machine. Worst experience I've had since moving to J.T. in December. Buyer beware. Bad karma awaits you here. read more

The woman Katherine who "tries to" (her words, not mine) manage this place is so very rude. She decides to come up to me 30 minutes after I walked in, loaded the washer, put detergent in, and was getting change to tell me that last load was 15 minutes ago. I clearly was there and starting my laundry before that time. She proceeds to give attitude, say "well sorry" with attitude, and walk away. I further ask for information on the posting of the last load rule. It was posted in 1" letters on an open glass door that no one could see. And apparently on a board clearly on the other side of the building away from the washers. This isn't the first time I have had a bad experience with this woman. Also, apparently there is absolutely no way to contact the owner. So you have to deal with her and her attitude all the time. This place just lost business. My new washer and dryer set did not ship this week, so I was up to my eyeballs in laundry. I came into the laundromat at 7:15 am, used 7 washers (had to wash comforters and linens due to potty training accidents). The coin machines are all operable, not finnicky about crisp bills, the vending machines (one for the laundry supplies the other for snacks) were both full and working. Plenty of washers and dryers, very few labeled "out of order). I don't plan on using a laundromat any time soon, but if I do, I'll go here. $3.50 per load for washers, $.25 = 7 min of dryer time. read more

Wow... the attendant is super-crabby. When the washer ate my money and she accused me of not putting any money IN the machine, I had to ask her three times to "Please stop yelling at me." She yelled that she was not yelling. Apparently I don't know how to use a washer, after 35 years of professional costuming... which basically is doing laundry. Gads... I nearly burst into tears....
