The only downside is that whole place can feel a little cramped, depending on how many people are there. If multiple birthday parties are going it can be hard to maneuver around in the non-skating area or to find a place to sit down. There is barely room for two people to walk abreast from the door to the skate rental area because you have to navigate your way through the tightly-spaced snack bar tables. There is no good out-of-the way spot to help a beginner. But they do have PVC "Skate Mates" for rent that kids can use like rolling walkers to help get the feel for it. Even the floor feels a little small, but it makes up for it in quality. My daughter, a beginner, got scared that people were whizzing by her too closely and some even bumped into her. She prefers the much larger, but substantially less classy, Skate Zone in Winter Haven for that reason alone. For all other purposes, Skate World is superior. Go on a slow day, and your experience will be darn near perfect. Go when it's busy, and you'll have to tolerate being in close quarters with a bunch of other people wisely looking for the same perfect experience there.

We have been coming to Center Ice since October 2024, and we enrolled our son in the Learn to Skate…read moreprogram when he was just 4 years old. Now, in May 2026, he has graduated from the program and moved on to Hockey 101 at age 5. We truly have nothing bad to say about the program or the coaches. They have always treated our son with love, patience, and respect. Even though there are many children in each session, the coaches consistently make an effort to provide one-on-one feedback to every child, regardless of skill level. They are kind, encouraging, and genuinely seem to love what they do. We are incredibly proud of how far our son has come, and so are his coaches. The program director, Vinny, has been especially wonderful. He is professional, caring, and so sweet with all the kids. What really stood out to us is that he remembered our son by name and even recalled when he first started the program. He was just as excited as we were when our son moved up to Hockey 101, which meant a lot to us as parents. The facilities are always clean, the rinks are very well maintained, and the overall environment feels welcoming and organized. The food is pretty good, and the snack bar is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or drink, although I do feel some items are a bit overpriced. The hockey shop has also been an amazing resource for us. The staff there are truly a delight. They are patient with our son, even when he gets easily distracted, and they never try to upsell unnecessary equipment. Instead, they work within your budget and genuinely try to help you find the best option possible. You can also tell they truly enjoy interacting with the kids. Since we were completely new to hockey when we started, they took the time to teach us how to lace skates properly, make sure equipment fit correctly, and they even taped our son's stick for us. Over time, we've started to feel a real sense of community at the rink, and a lot of that comes from the positive environment created by the skating program and staff. We have also enrolled our son in private one-on-one lessons, and Coach Ava has been a fantastic fit for him. She is kind, fun, professional, and wonderful with children. Overall, we are incredibly grateful for the positive experience our family has had at Center Ice. Watching our son grow in confidence and skill here has been really special for us. Yummy restaurant ( get the wings) and lots of viewing throughout to see the various rinks. Clean bathrooms, clean and well maintained general areas. Snack bar but I've honestly never purchased anything there. Reasonable prices too.

This is a good place for a birthday party…read more My daughter had a birthday party at United Skates, and I thought it was a pretty good experience, but I didn't like how disorganized the skate rentals were, and the metal detector at the entrance was a bit intimidating. This fall, we have been to two birthday parties at SkateWorld, and I think they were significantly superior to the party at United Skates. Better neighborhood (no metal detector), easy skate rentals, easier check in. Food was similarly bad (looking - I didn't taste), but there were more options to order if you wanted something other than pizza (they had wings, sandwich platters, etc.). If my daughter decides on a skating party in the future, we'll be coming to SkateWorld rather than returning to United Skates. My only concern is the parking situation. There's no problem for the Sunday parties, but on a Saturday, there really isn't enough parking for the venue capacity.

This place sits close to Salem's and is on 60 and Kings Ave. Place is a great size for a skating rink and they have different races for different ages there to make it stay fun and active. If you want a trainer, it is $5 extra and you have to trade your shoes in for the skates which makes sense cause you're not going to leave without your shoes! They also have a bounce house and have staff to supervise. There's an arcade too for those who aren't into any of those things and a place to redeem for prizes. I can't speak too much for the food but the kids seemed to eat it well. Overall, a great experience and I would defintely recommend and return for everyone of all ages!

We've been to some rinks around here and the floor is really greasy/oily. If you know, you know that really makes it hard to fully maintain full control when turning and cutting. We also really appreciated that they had a little corner of the floor tucked away for the little skaters. Our little one loved it over there as an escape from the crowd and more experienced skaters. Also, in the larger sizes they had some really nice roller hockey style inline skates. I don't think there are enough of those to cover all sizes, but if you are lucky enough to get a pair, they definitely looked legit. We'll definitely be back to this location again. The DJ also played a good mix of old school vs new school music.

Amber stopped what she was doing to help us and took the time to explain the differences in skates. She was very personable and professional and is a true ambassador to Astro Skate Center. It's because of her and being valued as a customer that we will return. This is an amazing place, it's not only kids but adults as well. I highly recommend this place as a family event or for date night as you won't be disappointed! It was well staffed and a safe place to let the kids run wild. It's disappointing that they don't have skating for everyone every night. Came on a Friday which…read morewas kids night without me realizing it. It was true to its name and were literally just little kids skating. It wouldn't have been as bad if they were skating in the normal direction but they weren't. Instead of skating in a circle, they skating in an up & down direction. My friend and I stayed for 5mins before we decided to leave. Luckily they were nice enough to refund us without a problem. Later I saw that adult night is only In Saturdays for two hours. This is so limiting. Unfortunately Daytona is a small town so there aren't a lot of other options unless you drive to Orlando.
