Stopped by out of the movies for a beverage. I had a an ICED cold glass for my beer. The bartender, Vicky, was very nice and attentive to all the patrons. The TVs were all in different types of sports, including the Olympics. It was real chill. I even stuck up a conversation with a few of the gentlemen sitting at the bar. Thursday nights at 8pm, they do a country line dance night partnered with KBEAR radio. It is a blast! They have the Alaska Heel Scuffers there to teach a dance or two, then the rest of the evening is dancing. It's in the basement, so turn right down the stairs as soon as you walk in. As a woman, I always feel safe here and have a good time. There is food available upstairs, but it's not great. It felt dirty, and the two times I've ate there I wondered if I would get sick later. Never did, but it's a dive bar food feel. Everyone comes for the dancing! Drinks are decent, and they do a drawing for awesome gift cards and prizes at the end of the dancing. Food - I ordered the Reuben with fries. The fries were lightly crispy and super fresh. They were advertised as shoestring fries but they kind of looked like McDonalds fries. They taste much fresher than McDs. They had a sprinkling of pepper on them. Tasty. The Reuben wasn't overloaded like so many reubens I have had before. The corned beef was tasty enough and it was in pieces rather than slices. There wasn't much sauerkraut and the thousand island was a little overpowering. Overpowering to the point that it made the rye bread soggy. I had to eat half of the sandwich with a fork. Ambiance - it has the feel and looks of a sports bar. Beer signs hanging all over. It has a decent number of TVs but hard to see any from the bar. Notables - so many games to play. There is foosball, pool, and even pinball. Decent craft beer selection plus all the normal domestics. Cleanliness - overall, not bad. The bathroom was dated and worn, but didn't smell and it was obvious they cleaned it regularly. Be careful with the sinks as the water comes out quite quickly. Service - I came in at a downtime and sat at the bar. There were five other people sitting at the bar. They were likely locals that the bartender knew. She was laughing and talking to them, but she served me with fidelity. It would be nice to be a local. Overall, great bar and grill. Cheap beer. Decent place. read more

I haven't visited this bar since I was in my twenties and the customer service and friendly staff is a hard miss. I arrived at 1150pm, the atmosphere was a small crowd (time at the bar showed regulars) I saw open space at the end of the bar near the restroom I walked over and took a seat bartender walked over to me asked what I was drinking during these few moments a large Samoan securtiy guard walked over and stood literally over my shoulder at the bar and proceeds to interrupt and ask the bartender if everything was "okay?" I turned around to see what was going on and the bartender proceeds to say he's our security... leaving me to assume this question was about me... I wasn't given the opportunity to open my mouth before I was profiled in my whole 3 minutes of my visit (of that). I decided to order a drink since I'm waiting for a friend, start drinking my beverage. At 1201am the bartender asked me if I'm doing alright I'm 2/3 through my beer and I've been observing the kitchen staff to my left, decide I could eat. I ask what time the kitchen is open till? The response was kitchen is closed sorry as she turns away. It was just very impersonal, security came across hostile, not sure if I caught this place on a bad night but I just wanted to catch up with a buddy over 2 beers and the interaction with staff and security made me feel unwelcome. If you're a regular accepted patron there I'm sure the interaction is great, first time probably should bring a regular. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. First and last time in. Went in on Friday 10/19 for the Dodgers game 6 playoffs. Big game. Everyone in town has it on. Hardly anyone there. It was silent. The game hadn't started yet but was on the TVs. I thought maybe they were waiting for it to start to turn up the sound. Then from the silence a heavy metal / rock song plays really loudly. Then like a June box was controlling it and nobody picked another song, silence. So the game starts and still no sound. I ask if they're going to turn it up. The bartender turns the sound up on the one tv in front of me to a whisper. Then, you guessed it. Another quarter in the Juke box I guess because the music was deafening. I went to my nearly non-existent server because she wasn't coming back to me, paid for my one beer and got out of that dump as fast as I could. Sports bar my ass. Yuck. read more

If I could leave a negative rating, I would. I was there recently and there was a conflict between two patrons. Come to find out, the female who was involved actually works there, but wasn't on her shift. Her name was Anna. I know this because multiple people were telling her to calm down. She, out of nowhere starts yelling vulgarities across the bar, at this other gentlemen who was sitting there doing nothing. She brought up the guys family and everything! Complete unprofessionalism. How can this bar employ people who act like that, at their place of employment, while not on the clock? I have other friends who frequent this bar quite often, and have nothing nice to say about this "lady" Anna. They say she is rude, unpleasant, unprofessional, and simply just not good at her job. I came down here on a Sunday last week to catch a noontime NFL game. Eddie's Sports Bar is located south of the intersection of Old Seward and Dowling a few doors down from Subway. This was my first time here and I wasn't sure how crowded it was going to be on Sunday. The bar and seating area is spacious with TV's everywhere. The place has a country-western feel to it with the bar counter, pool tables, and old-school video games. The only thing missing was Patrick Swayze's character Dalton from Road House keeping a watchful eye on the place. The employees gave me a friendly greeting and I was lucky to find an empty table at the back end next to the breakfast buffet where my game was playing. The lady behind the buffet counter said that today is NFL Sunday Breakfast Buffet which only costs $13.00 for all-you-can-eat! The buffet consisted of your choice of scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, sausage links or patties, home fries, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon rolls. They also make pancakes, omelets, and waffles made-to-order in addition to the buffet. What an awesome deal! However, the biggest surprise for me as I got settled down to eat was the kitchen manager who was an old high school friend and co-worker from my first job at Round Table Pizza who I haven't seen in over 20 years! It was an unexpected appearance and a great reunion as we caught up on old times as well as finding out if anyone from the early 90's was still living here in town. This was an awesome first-time experience as the lady behind the counter gave me a generous amount of food from the buffet at the insistence of my old friend as I was on my way out. In addition to all the NFL games shown here every Sunday, they have live music by local musicians with plenty of dance space in the middle area as well as food specials like Taco Tuesdays and Prime Rib Dinners on certain weeknights. Seeing my team win the game was icing on the cake after all this. I intend to come back in the near future for football and trying out the Prime Rib Dinner as well as their lunch offerings on the menu. read more

It's brightly lit and has a "mixed crowd" which is often what older people say to mean "there are are other old people drinking at a bar? On a weeknight?". Anyway, there are folks from 22-62 here. If, when you walk in, you IMMEDIATELY go down the stairs on your right, that's the basement. The basement is definitely a "younger crowd" (which is what people in their 30's say to ease the butthurt of no longer being in their 20's). It's darkly-lit, it's raucous, there's a DJ, and line-dancing/two-stepping (I know there's a difference, but I don't know how to tell the difference). The bartender told me they have live music on the weekends. Choose your adventure! Seriously though, the beers are cheap. What a dive bar. On taco tuesday's or prime rib thursday's standing by the food service bar waiting for your food your feet become glued to the carpet!!! It's like standing on tar, the grease and slim in the carpet is so thick your shoes become stuck it's pretty gross to think what might be growing in that carpet. The service is so lousy there I sit for 5 to 10 minutes with an empty beer before I can get another one. The place has really gone down hill since Eddy sold it about 4 years ago. One of the co-owners is a blooming drunk, he'll sit in there get 2 sheets to the wind and start insulting paying customers. It's not the Eddies it used to be and never will be stay away. read more

Love this place! It's not fancy, but it's fun. Great place to watch the game, or hang out. Burgers are really good!!! They make all their burgers in house. Not that frozen pre-made patty crap, that you get at most bars. Definitely my favorite local bar. No tourists. No snobby waitress. Just a fun easygoing place with good food & good drinks. Went here for the first time last night and it wasn't bad. It's a younger group of people so there is a lot of yelling and inexperienced drinkers. There are pool tables on one side of the bar and dart boards on the other. The juke box is only loud in the pool table side. The bartender was a bit slow with me and paid more attention to her regulars. After I had a couple of beers she was better at noticing when I needed a refill. Over all a good local bar. read more

The security and bartenders are awful. We sat and paid for $100 worth of drinks, pool and music. The bartender kept skipping all out our songs and playing her same song over and over again. We than got kicked out for calling her out. The service is awful and they should not get anyones business at all. They were disrespectful and didn't care that we were spending a lot of money for them to just change our music. It is not okay and the security was acting like he owned the bar. He had the slick backed hair and made us leave. We go every week and this is how they treat us? Good luck with them. I don't know where you find your bartenders, but Jesus, could they be anymore rude? Old, haggard, looking lady working downstairs got super offended when we thought the beer was flat and was extremely rude. Then we went back a few weeks later and she was upstairs and was more interested in the dudes at the bar than making our drinks. The server said "she doesn't care about anyone but herself". Well, that's obvious because that lady is RUDE. It isn't that hard to just replace a beer or check the keg- no need for the attitude. Class the place a bit and get rid of the bitchy bartenders. I am a regular at Eddies and have never had a problem until last night. I was with a group...there were 3 females and 2 guys. We were celebrating one of the guys birthdays. We walked up to the bar to order some drinks and after about 5 min maybe longer of waiting it was made VERY clear the bartender was ignoring us. There was a group of females who I heard tell the bartender "they want to order" and this bartender replied "I don't care". When I heard this I walked around to the other side of the bar and very nicely asked if we could order some drinks. Her exact words were "not at the bar you will get better service if you order from a table." And I replied so you won't serve us. And she said nope. So we walked over to a table, a very nice heavier set waitress came over to take our order and we had no problems. We asked the waitress what the bartenders name was and she said she goes by Emm or Emily. This wasn't a situation where we were denied service because we had consumed too much...this was one of our first stops for the night...it was simply a very rude bartender who simply didn't want to do her job. Funny thing is even though she wouldn't take our order she still is the one who made our drinks. It's a real bummer because we really love this bar and this experience really left a bad taste in all our mouths. We will not be back for a while. read more

My friends always insist on going here when there's a birthday. I HATE this place. The bartenders ignore you and they're often ignoring you to talk to a friend all night or to text. The bartenders insist on checking your ID for even a water, every other bar I've been to will only check at the door and if they do check at the bar as well it's only if you or the person with you is buying an alcoholic beverage, never for a non-alcoholic beverage. They've accused me of having a fake ID, they let me stay but kept an eye on me and still refused to believe it's real. I'm 25 but if I was a teenager making a fake ID I probably wouldn't go with mid twenties. It's always a horrible experience being here and I always leave in a bad mood. read more
