Only about 20 minutes from where I was spending the day. The room was clean. The mattress was a little softer than what I'm used to but I still slept well. From now on this will be my go to place when I'm in the area and need a place to sleep.

All in all we had a lot of fun and even met some people we knew through just a degree or two of separation. This is indeed quite a cozy little cove, with boats for rent (both fishing and pontoon), a dock with waterslide for socializing, a volleyball court, lots of fire pit and grilling areas, covered picnic area, small beach, and some (not great) paddleboats and canoes available. The cottages themselves, well, let's just say our situation was a bit of a hot mess. We were in one of the two interior cottages of the 4-in-1 building (smallest offering, as there were only two of us). We experienced LOTS of issues with MICE, missing silverware, noise (due to close proximity to other cottages), and quality of furnishings/fixtures. However, what we quickly found out was that a) the owners only recently acquired the property, b) they are young with kids of their own, and c) are VERY responsive and accommodating, SO easy to work with, very apologetic that their cleaning staff dropped the ball, and overall just so sweet and helpful. We would gladly go back with a group and get a big cabin for a long weekend. The location is close to everything in nearby civilization, which isn't saying a lot, but if you're going to the middle of nowhere, it's nice to know you're in the epicenter of activity. Good experience, just take it with a grain of salt as they get their bearings.

We made a reservation that day (it seemed pretty packed early October so we got the last available spot). The staff here were very friendly, and we didn't have to pay until we arrived at the site. It was so affordable! With a Good Sam discount, our one night stay amounted to just ~$34! We were very happy with the price, which included full hook-ups (+ cable TV), a shower house, and a swimming pool (? I think). The next morning, we had our propane filled at that site and left. The owners here were very thoughtful and organized. Thought the campground wasn't very big, when we drove in, the owner had us follow her in her golf cart so we knew exactly where to pull in and how to park our extra truck. Will come back again!

The Dam Motel was just built and it looked so cute from the outside so I had to check it out. It's just as adorable on the inside. We stayed in the suite and it is as big as an apartment. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Everything is completely renovated and the decor is beautiful. Let me also mention how clean the inside and outside of the motel was. Do not let the word "motel" fool you, this place is amazing. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend getaway or staycation.
