I can't say enough good things about Holiday Hills! From the ease of booking to the beautiful updated and spacious accommodations, it was such a great time staying there. We stayed at the recently renovated Holiday House, and it was fantastic! There were 5 adults and 1 toddler, and we had so much space, with the little one able to even have her own room. And a big enough space that no one woke her when she went to bed earlier than the rest of us! From the patio lighting to the fire pit, it was just such an inviting experience. And everyone was so kind and helpful. While we're from the area, we came into town for a wedding in Paducah, and even though it was a little bit of a drive, I would do it 100x over to get to stay at Holiday Hills. I've stayed Holiday Hills many times each summer, from 2009-2014. The hour and a half drive from Nashville to here is worth it when you get out on that water. I love Lake Barkley. We'd stay sometimes at the campsite in a fixed camper, with a porch over it. You can see the large, Holiday Hills sign from the road, the road down to the campsite is VERY steep. I honestly don't see how some of those people get their huge boats and camper/RVs up and down the hill. Coming down the hill, you'll see a pool on the right, the boat launch on the left and the office, check-in and bathrooms straight up a small hill. The office has a small shop where you can buy items for fishing, even a fishing license. The shop sells food that is a little over priced, but then again it's about convenience. They did have alcohol available for purchase one year, but that has since went away. Next to the office is the men's and women's bathroom. These bathrooms need an overhaul. The men's has two urinals, two toilets and two showers. One of the toilets is almost always clogged. One of the sinks is rusting through to the floor, and one of the showers is missing it's door and just has a shower curtain. It's kind of like camping because you're roughing it in the bathrooms. Depending on the weather, weekend, and holiday, it can be BUSY or a ghost down. The Fourth of July is always madness here. Tons of people in visiting and ready to go out on the water at watch the fireworks at the nearby Eddy Creek Marina. If you're staying during the week or when the local schools are in, it's not busy at all and quite peaceful. The staff in the office is usually friendly. Some of the maintenance men aren't that friendly and drive their work vans pretty fast around the property in narrow roads. The spend a lot of time mowing and keeping the grounds looking great. During the summer, they have different events from a golf cart parade to grill outs. Along with campsites, they also have cabins that are available for rent, along with golf carts, and even two boats are available for rent. I've never seen inside the cabins, but the have a great view of the lake. The two boats available are your basic party pontoon boat made in the 80's. You can park your boat on the dock for $10 a night. Overall this is a great location on Lake Barkley because you're on an area that isn't overly crowded on the water. I'd like if they'd upgrade the bathrooms. Also, wifi is part of the HOA fees, yet it rarely works, and if it does, it's slower than molasses. read more

I recently spent five nights at Holiday Hills Resort. I was very impressed with the campground and staff. I don't think there was a day staff didn't check on me to make sure my stay was enjoyable. Each time I visited the office I was greeted with a smile. The campground was clean and the bathhouse was like new. My grandson is seven and he spent two days with me. He made several friends including some of the regular campers. He caught a lot of fish from the bank, including big bluegill and catfish. The bank was accessible and he fished with ease. I only had my boat out once but the ramp was easy to use. The fish cleaning station was nice and well maintained. It is without reservation that I highly recommend this beautiful campground for your consideration. I rate it 5 star in every capacity. My family and I recently spent 10 days at the campground and it was GREAT!! From what I was told this campground is under new ownership and the new owners are doing a great job!! The campground was very clean, well maintained and the pool was cleaned nightly and from what I could see they also offer golf carts that you can rent. They offer pump out twice a week where they come to you and will pump out your black/gray water. The items in the store are reasonably priced and the staff is VERY FRIENDLY. read more

Our family had a family reunion here. We had the best time. Place was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend. Very family oriented.

We arrived and it was a nice and easy check in. The Townhouse was pretty nice and spacious, they have pretty much everything you will need for your stay. It's a great location. Some of the outdoor spaces like the playground and stairs to get to them are very run down and a bit difficult to climb which could be kind of dangerous. The beach/ lake area is like another reviewer described a large sandbox and the water was full of dead fish. Another thing that was slightly off putting was the second night we stayed we took a walk with our kids and dogs down to the basketball area at only like 730 pm playing basket ball at their court and walking our dogs where we were questioned by a guy cleaning the pool we believe it was the owner. We were fine with just someone asking how our stay was going, but it seemed to be excessive questioning. Then they wanted to know which cabin we were staying in and pressed for info etc. my logic is this, if you own or manage this place then you should know who is staying here right? We are a big family and we were the ONLY family with two adults and our 9 kids (ages 18-4 years old) in the townhouse house on the property . We are polite respectful and clean no one even knew we were there the first night obviously.Then as it was getting dark we were followed by a guy in similar looking golf cart up to the cabin, so we assumed it was them "checking up on our story" which was also strange and has never happened to us anywhere else . Plainly put we found it a little bit offensive and rude. We booked this room on AirBnB as well and we booked it because it had amazing reviews and was big enough to accommodate our large family. Why would you have rooms that accommodate large groups then act suspicious about one, anyway that encounter aside the stay was great and it's a nice enough place. The beds were also so hard our backs were killing us were in our late 30s to early 40s and even our kids said theirs were hard, yikes! we barely slept for the two days. I would have given them a four star without that unfortunate incident of the mild inconspicuous harassment,because again the place was clean and nice enough but yeah it totally turned us off from staying again . read more

The road leading in and out of the campground is VERY steep. So if you are unsure of your vehicles towing ability may want to avoid. Nice place. Most campers seemed to be seasonal or permanent, so bathrooms and showers were always empty. Nice clean pool, not very busy at all. The lake is right here and we saw many boaters launch their boats. Shore and pier fishing is available for free in the campground. Bait sold here too. Close to Land Between the Lakes national forest. You can visit a drive through bison/elk natural habitat, a planetarium, and a pioneer village. read more

The owners are great and will go out their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The resort itself is lovely with nice cabins on the the lake side, great views and easy lake access. Clean, safe, fun and I will be visiting again. read more
