I've always stayed in Dover, which is almost an hour from LBL. This year I wanted to stay closer so I searched the internet. I found this motel and saw the great reviews. They didn't disappoint. Only about 20 minutes from where I was spending the day. The room was clean. The mattress was a little softer than what I'm used to but I still slept well. From now on this will be my go to place when I'm in the area and need a place to sleep.

My boyfriend stole me away to somewhere I'd never been before (at my request) over Labor Day…read moreweekend, and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in the Land Between the Lakes! All in all we had a lot of fun and even met some people we knew through just a degree or two of separation. This is indeed quite a cozy little cove, with boats for rent (both fishing and pontoon), a dock with waterslide for socializing, a volleyball court, lots of fire pit and grilling areas, covered picnic area, small beach, and some (not great) paddleboats and canoes available. The cottages themselves, well, let's just say our situation was a bit of a hot mess. We were in one of the two interior cottages of the 4-in-1 building (smallest offering, as there were only two of us). We experienced LOTS of issues with MICE, missing silverware, noise (due to close proximity to other cottages), and quality of furnishings/fixtures. However, what we quickly found out was that a) the owners only recently acquired the property, b) they are young with kids of their own, and c) are VERY responsive and accommodating, SO easy to work with, very apologetic that their cleaning staff dropped the ball, and overall just so sweet and helpful. We would gladly go back with a group and get a big cabin for a long weekend. The location is close to everything in nearby civilization, which isn't saying a lot, but if you're going to the middle of nowhere, it's nice to know you're in the epicenter of activity. Good experience, just take it with a grain of salt as they get their bearings.

Well what I got was great service. The lady at the front is responsible for cleaning the rooms too. Everyday my room was serviced with fresh towels (which you don't see at every hotel these days). The room was cozy, and the heater worked well. The bed was fantastic and I got great sleep each night. The room is stocked with shampoo, conditioner and lotion dispensers. Room had a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and direct tv. Also had an iron and ironing board which I needed. There was plenty of lighting too. The lighting was set up so you can get the light level you want.

Mid-point of the lake, restaurants/marina/conscience close. I would rather give a 2.5 star rating, however I'm optimistic and rounded up. Pros: location, friendly staff, kids liked the play and games area, plenty of space, comfortable beds. Cons: broken light fixtures/exposed wire, mildewed shower and curtain, mildewed-smelling towels, ants in kitchen and bathroom, melted tv due to its location above fireplace, dead bugs in light fixtures, grimy fans, ripped carpet, several burned out light bulbs. With some regularly scheduled maintenance and cleaning schedule, these issues could be resolved. However we won't be staying there again.
