It took me awhile to use the certificate but I finally did last week and I wish I would have done it sooner! Amber was very nice, easy to talk to, accommodating and beyond talented! I went in with damaged hair from a boxed bleach job that left patches of dark hair throughout and over a year of roots. Amber suggested adding some highlights and lowlights in order to blend my roots into the bleached ends and she topped it off by trimming my split ends and styling my hair to perfection. I couldn't be happier! Everyone that has seen me loves the new look as well. The vibe at the shop was cute and laid back. Perfect for Park Circle. The salon booked me with level 4 stylist, Amie. She is very personable and we chatted the whole time. All of the employees that work for the salon seem to enjoy the work environment and culture, which always makes the experience pleasant for customers. I was the only customer in the salon for the majority of my cut--wouldn't have minded if it had been slammed. Amie gave me the best "wash before cut"! After seeing my friend's hair done at Coven I had to try it out. Coven had a vision and it was executed spectacularly. The attention to detail was everywhere I looked. I walked in for the first time and was already impressed. If someone/a business takes the time for ambiance and decor then I also have high hopes for the experience. The precedents of expectations was set and met. Taylor was a joy on a rainy day, literally. I felt safe with a big part of myself in her hands. When she sends me pictures I'll post them here!! The space was true to a Charleston home's parlor. The entry, the waiting area, the wash area, the bathroom. All on theme. All decked out. I saw the owner but didn't get a chance to say hello, but I will when I come back in October. I know they are under redesign for the space next door as well so I am excited to see what that will bring!

This is also due to the fact there wasn't an apology. I was at the salon from approximately 12:40 p.m. until around 8:35 p.m. the other week for a partial (halo) color service, not a full-head color. Unfortunately, the results were not what we discussed. The purple turned out blue/teal, and the black was not carried through the rest of my hair, leaving uneven brown sections and noticeable banding. My hair was also left extremely dry, damaged, and breaking off in clumps. What's crazy is that even Eden acknowledged it was blue. At that point I just wanted out of the salon. Before leaving this review, I tried to resolve my concerns privately. I contacted the salon to get in touch with my stylist, and after not hearing back, I had to find her contact information through Instagram. I reached out to her directly, and although my message was read last Friday, I never received a response or even an apology. Edit: Instead of them responding and taking accountability or communicating, they blocked me on Instagram! I also later discovered I had been filmed in the background of the salon's social media content without being informed beforehand, which made me uncomfortable. My stylist Eden was kind during the appointment, but after spending nearly eight hours in the salon and paying over $500, I expected a much higher quality result and better communication afterward. I now have to pay another salon to color my hair black and begin repairing the damage. I've been embarrassed to be outside with my hair as everyone I've shown has mentioned how bad it looks. I had spent so long getting my hair to a healthy place and now I'm having to go through this. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend paying this amount for these results or even going to Coven, and I will not be returning.
