I have been going Edge Salon for a while. The service is always superb. Donna is top on my list for all of my services. She is funny and personable but her hands are where the real magic is. I purchased a Groupon for deep conditioning, scalp massage and haircut. For being a first-time client, Kevin at the front desk was deliberately dismissive while he swept the floor. I stood there before he just said have a seat. I wanted to walk out right then and there. He took me back to the washing chairs where I sat for 5 minutes. My "stylist" didn't consult with me before my hair was washed by another girl. In fact, she didn't even see my hair before it was washed. The product used is Paul Mitchell. I'm sorry for a deep conditioning treatment, I expect something I don't buy for myself at home. The scalp massage was barely relaxing and their idea of a conditioning treatment is to leave you tilted in the sink for 10 minutes. No heat, no wrapping. I asked for a simple cleanup of my layers. Her technique was something of a beginners YouTube tutorial. Twist and randomly snip. My hair is so choppy and uneven. After she blew it out there was an undeniably uneven portion of hair. I pointed at it, and she said, 'oh yeah what's that'? She took scissors to it and said I don't want to cut anymore and basically walked away. Whatever she did made it worse. I don't know if I was more outraged or shocked looking for a hidden camera - are you serious? Then they charge a Groupon fee of 11.90 with no explanation. When I complained, they said oh it should really be 8 dollars for the Groupon fees. WTH? This place is a joke, stay clear. read more

I came to Edge Salon and Spa for a spray tan off the recommendation from a friend. I made an appointment online which was easy to do, but it accidentally got booked for a date when they were closed (summer hours). The owner immediately called me to set up a different time which I thought was great. Upon arrival at Edge, everyone was super friendly. I am definitely a spray tan novice and showed up with wet hair- which I didn't think would effect it at all. The owner/staff member offered to blow out my hair so it would be dry which I really appreciated even though I didn't take him up on the offer (I just put my hair up). Once in the spray tan room, the woman, I believe her name was Stacey, helped me pick out which shade would be best based on my skin tone. All in all with drying and tanning, it was pretty quick. I liked that they actually spray you themselves here as opposed to standing in a room with automatic sprayers. I was impressed with the staff and service at Edge Salon, but even more so after my appointment- they sent me a follow up text including a $10 gift card for my next visit. I don't think I'll be getting a spray time anytime soon since winter is coming, but I will definitely be back to Edge for my next hair appointment. read more

Very Unprofessional!! I received a Groupon as a gift and called to make an appointment since it said only specific stylists could do it. I had to pay $25 just to make the appointment which they told me I would get back when I got there. The stylist was nice but made me feel awkward and handed me off to another person who did not speak a word to me at all and simply walked away when she was done. The stylist was nice enough and my hair looks ok but made it clear she was a master stylist and she shouldn't be doing my hair since it was a Groupon and they are more for less experienced stylists. Then after my service was told I was not getting back my $25, even though it was a debit card and there is now also an additional charge of $5.99 just for using a Groupon. 2 weeks later I had still not gotten my money back so I called and was told there was no manager available so then I emailed and see a refund was just processed but I was also charged the $5.99 again. Now call from a manager and no reply at all to my email. Very Unprofessional and awful service and management.. do NOT recommend. I'd rather pay full price for a place I feel welcome. read more

Had been needing a facial for over a year. Having to wear a mask all day at work has really irritated my skin. I decided to look on Groupon and found a really good deal. Called the salon it was super easy to make an appointment. Went in on that Thursday right after work for a facial with Clare. Walked into the salon was greeted right away. Was asked to fill out this questionnaire and in a matter of minutes was in the treatment room. Felt really relaxed throughout my facial I might have even fell asleep a couple times that's how great it was. Clare was really outgoing, informative and exceeded all my expectations. Called and made appt based on previous reviews. I was NOT disappointed. This is my go to salon and spa from now on. The owner who greeted me was very kind and gave a nice your and actually asked me back to my appt which is a great way to start my experience. First the lady who did my brows was friendly and fast but did an amazing job. It was the least painful waxing I've ever had. Secondly the shampoo lady was so friendly and wow got a massage and wash. It was a very nice little luxury. Lastly but most importantly my hairdresser, Sean, is AMAZING. He did incredible things to my hair. Not only did he cut and blow it out but he took time to talk and teach me about what my hair needed and gave me at home tips. And he was such a pleasantly wonderful person to spend time with. Myself and THREE other girls that went with me were all given attitude and talked into getting more expensive nails, etc. We all hated what we were given. I personally had the owner doing my nails and when she put the first fingers nail polish on I asked her if I could actually change my color because it needed to be a little lighter for an event I had and she didn't let me. Then she proceeded to file my nails to bleed and didn't even give them a good shape. My daughter and I came to Edge after reading many positive reviews...unfortunately, our experience was anything but. Although the faculty was very clean and sterile, it was the worst manicure I received. I had a dip manicure, which lasted a little over a day before a piece cracked off. There were uneven spots, ridges, and bumps on several nails. I sent a message to the salon after hours through their website hoping to get the nail fixed but a week later and no one has contacted me. We were also charged more than we were quoted when making the appointment, and never informed as to why. We will not be back. read more

It is so difficult for me to find a stylist that is as knowledgeable and professional as Denise Mendez at edge salon and spa. I drive all the way from Philadelphia because Denise gets my blonde hair the perfect shade and keeps my hair healthy /shiny (which is incredibly difficult to achieve with putting bleach on one's hair every five weeks). ...the owner at edge (David ) is so awesome that he goes the extra step to make me feel comfortable and welcome. Last time while I was waiting for my hair to process David had a manicurist give me a complimentary polish change. The staff was amazing here!! I brought my wedding party in for hair and make-up and lets just say they did a fabulous job!! Pricing was terrible as well and it is definitely worth what they charge. I would definitely recommend this place for all brides and their parties!! David was such a huge help as well. Right now we are living in Kansas but had our wedding the PA/NJ area so it was hard to find a place that would book with us since we lived so far away. David understood and asked for pictures for what we wanted for hair styles. There was no trials at all for the hair and make-up since I was unable to travel 20 plus hours. Edge salon was amazing. I chose them because, aside from their good quality and comparable pricing, they made the getting-ready process an experience for the bride and her group. They have a whole set-up for food and drinks and they are flexible on number of stylists and time. They even did my mom's nails while she was waiting which was an added bonus! The only complaint I have is that we ran ~40 minutes late which then caused us to have to cut our pictures short. I recommend them, but make sure you add more wiggle room than I did! read more

I had a great experience my first time here! I love my hair: highlights and lowlights with a trim. Let me say first off, that I was nervous to go. I had been going to the same hair dresser for 5 years in Wilmington, but since we moved to the area 9 months ago, the 45 minute drive plus the bridge toll was too much. When I walked in the door, I was greeted warmly by the owner and offered an assortment of fresh bagels and assorted spreadables! I was then introduced to my stylist, Susan (pronounced like sue-zohn though!), and we quickly sat down and discussed what I wanted done. Susan listened to what I wanted and efficiently began to do the foil highlights/lowlights. When I was ready to be rinsed, I enjoyed a wonderful mini head/neck massage with my shampooist. After discussing how I usually cut / style my hair, Susan when straight to work, doing her magic. I loved how my hair turned out. I have already made my next appointment. I liked how Susan was quick and efficient, it used to take 2 1/2 hours with my previous stylist. Susan works for Paul Mitchell (NJ and NY) during the week, so I knew I'd be in good hands! The price was reasonable, and I got amazing results. The salon was fresh, clean, and had a wonderful energy with a spa feel. They offer many services, I have yet to try. When I stopped by initially to check out the place, before my workout at the gym next door, I was wearing my grungy gym clothes. I was still treated like any other customer, made to feel welcome and was given a tour by the owner. I will be completely honest that my experience of getting my hair cut at edge was fantastic. The people were very nice and the salon had a clean and relaxing atmosphere. That being said, I left with a mullet. It was a bit my fault as I gave my stylist freedom as I wanted the cut just shaped at thinned as well as a bang trim. My bangs are now choppy and uneven and my hair's layers are very severe with a random long section in the back. As I already lost a bunch of hair by this point, I just wanted out to see if I can style my hair into something and wait for it to grow out. It's unfortunate as I said the salon was lovely, but I will not be returning. Now to continue pinning my hair into submission for the next month until I can try another stylist somewhere.
