At her birthday party she smiled from ear to ear because she could hear us sing Happy Birthday to her, something she had not been able to enjoy. That moment was made possible by the ENT and audiology team at Endeavor Health NorthShore's Northbrook location at 501 Skokie Boulevard. A little over a year ago, Flo lost all hearing in her only good ear. She could hear sound but could not make out words. She became withdrawn and depressed and lost more than 30 pounds. She stopped going to her church women's club and barely engaged with friends and family. Her world went silent. We began with Dr. Janet Han at the Swedish Hospital location in Chicago. She tried a hearing aid plan with several fittings and a loaner. When that did not help, we met in Northbrook with Dr. David D. Walker and his team, Dr. Samantha Schneider and Dr. Margaret Molloy, to talk about a cochlear implant. With guidance from Flo's geriatrician, Dr. Erica Hutz, I chose to move forward knowing there was only a fifty fifty chance it would help, because any improvement could change her quality of life. From the first appointment, this team was kind, patient, and clear. They explained every step in plain language, returned calls quickly, and coordinated scheduling so travel and visits were manageable. They spoke to Flo in a way she could follow and made her feel included in her own care. They treated me as a partner in every decision. Over the next year I attended every follow up and adjustment. There were hard days when we wondered if we made the right choice, but the team's encouragement and skill kept us going. The changes have been remarkable. Flo gained back 30 pounds, returned to her women's club, attends the senior monthly meetings at the police station, watches television again, and starts conversations with friends and caregivers. She laughs, connects, and participates in life again. If you are considering a cochlear implant or need ENT care, I highly recommend this team.     I had never been to urgent care before. I was in a tremendous amount of pain on a Friday night, so…read moreseeing my regular doctor wasn't an option. A friend suggested trying urgent care. I first went to the closest location, but they couldn't get me in for a couple of hours. I didn't even realize urgent care offered appointments. The receptionist there kindly told me about another nearby location where I could make it in time for an available appointment in about 15 minutes. I'm so grateful she mentioned that option because the pain I was in was unbearable. I was also very anxious and nervous since I didn't know how serious the issue might be and I wasn't very comfortable seeing a doctor I didn't know. From the moment I arrived, the staff was kind and calming. Dr. Paulson immediately recognized how anxious I was and put me at ease right away. She was incredibly understanding and compassionate, and during the procedure she talked with me to keep my mind occupied. Before I knew it, the situation was taken care of. This experience completely changed how I feel about urgent care. I won't hesitate to go again if the situation ever arises. Even though the building is currently under construction, the location was convenient, parking was easy, and the care I received was excellent. I'm very grateful to have this facility nearby and for the wonderful staff who helped me.

From the extreme helpfulness and friendliness of 99% of the staff, to the soothing technicians who helped ease my anxiety during both experiences, I couldn't recommend them more highly. Extra kudos to Vicky, who was one of the friendliest people I've dealt with all year and made check-in a breeze, and Maria, who not only got my contrast IV in without bruising (now THAT is a special touch!) but also very gently corrected me without making me feel stupid when I tried to go in the CT machine backwards Needing imaging tests can be really scary... both the tests themselves and whatever health concerns require you to need the tests.....and the people at Envision are super kind and compassionate and help make the burden lighter.     My doctor referred me here for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. After a bad experience with…read morean extremely painful mammogram at another facility 2 years ago, I came in expecting that I will be in severe pain during the procedure and stressed about it all night. It took me several months to even schedule the appointment, because I was still traumatized. The technician was very friendly and explained the procedure. I told her that my first experience was a really bad one, but she reassured me that it will be fine. They have a newer 3D machine that doesn't have to be clamped down super hard. I held my breath for the first clamp, preparing for severe pain, and was so surprised and relieved when it was just discomfort. After my mammogram, the radiologist reviewed the images and I had an ultrasound. Again, great sonographer who explained the procedure and took thorough pictures of the entire breast plus lymph nodes. I am very happy with my experience today. Wait time was minimal, everyone was welcoming and professional. Scheduling was a little tricky and my appointment was postponed, but once I came in at my scheduled time, I was done in a little over an hour. Highly recommend this facility, especially if you have extremely dense tissue and have suffered through excruciating mammograms elsewhere.

    The ladies here are super nice…read more Justine who does the actual test. Is very comforting. As she is prepping you she keeps your mind busy by talking of light subjects. She explains the procedure very well. She lets you know that there are intervals where you can talk to her and move around. I had to scratch my nose, so she guided my hand to my nose. The actual bedding seemed like foam, comfy. She put a wedge under my legs to help the lower back. My MRI was for my neck and the device wasn't intimidating. What I laid my neck on was sorta like a U shaped pillow. Then like a grill, sorta like a football player wears was open, is put on your face, not confining at all. Added plus I got to listen to Yanni's music. I texted my doctor, if I ever need a MRI again, I definitely want to go there. Update: As comforting as they were the MRI my orthopedic doctor said the CD wasn't done well. This really upsets me, because he said if therapy doesn't help I'll need to go to a different place to get another MRI. it upsets me because I'm claustrophobic I needed to be sedated for the Bloomingdale MRI and now I have to go through this again.

The person that MRIed me was great. Very good at what they do, caring, and engages in conversation. Let's face it it can be awkward taking a test and meeting some random people, but the people at ANY job who at least attempt to talk to you are above and beyond the average worker just going through the motions. At least the person I had was that way, which was great. As in the end we all do our little ways to help, but they really do add up and help others so because of great service 5 stars.
