The park is big and there's a big parking lot but please note that during busy concerts the parking lot gets full so you can expect to park on the street if you don't arrive at least 30 minutes in advance. Also expect a slow moving line when leaving the park on busy days. But overall this is a nice park!

5/26/25: We went to visit the Tear Drop Memorial. It's also…read moreknown as the "Tear of Grief". The monument is located in Harbor View Park at 51 Port Terminal Blvd. Bayonne, NJ. This sculpture is "Absolutely Stunning" in person. It's made from Bronze, Stainless Steel and Steel. In 2006, the "Tear Drop" was a gift from the people of Russia as a memorial to the victims who died in the terrorist attacks on World Trade Center September 11, 2001 and the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. The Monument was created by Georgian- Russian Artist/Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. This master artist recently passed in April 2025. While in the Harborview Park, you'll see a memorial area for the residents of Bayonne who died in both terrorist attacks. The park does have benches for people to sit and reflect. The park has a Porta John. However, I would strongly recommend bringing your own tissues. Harborview Park is a must see when in the NJ/NY area.

10/4/25 Visit: We came to visit the large crane in the park…read more The Crane is a magnificent structure "not to be missed". The crane was manufactured by the Electric Launch Company (ELCO). It was used to lift the PT boats used in WWII. In the park, there's a plaque dedicated to the people who worked at the Elco Co. along with the service people who served on the PT boats. The park has other highlights: - Stunning marsh birds. - Enclosed viewing areas of the waters. - Lovely wooden bridge. - Benches. Looks like fishing is good here, as we saw several men fishing. During our visit, we did see law enforcement patrolling the area. Unfortunately, the restrooms needed attention. Other than the restrooms, The Richard A. Rutkowski Park is a "must see". There's ample parking along the water.

The views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan are amazing, of course. There is a very nice, well maintained running path that loops around the park, and most of it is shoveled soon after snowfall. The portion of this path along Audrey Zapp Road is nice and shaded, and in the summer there are many people that run up and down this segment. Most half marathons and marathons that are held in Jersey City run through this park. There are areas labeled as picnic sites but the best site to have a picnic is by the playground. There's free parking, clean restrooms, picnic tables, trash cans and places to dump bbq coals, a very nice playground and lots of shade. Sometimes there's an ice cream truck or other food trucks hanging out in the parking lot.
