    Avocado Toast - loved it!
    Kristine H.

Enjoyed another great afternoon meal at Edgewater Café. Logan took wonderful care of us at the bar. From the brunch menu, we enjoyed the Avocado Toast, Seafood Bisque (soup of the day), and the Cacio e Pepe pasta dish. My cranberry martini was also delicious! We're looking forward to returning for breakfast in the morning!

Service was good, food was very tasty! Small cafe but tastefully decorated. Only problem was if you are in a larger wheelchair the doorway is so tight that you will scratch the doorway to try to get in.

The food was amazing and the service was great. They also have live entertainment (dueling pianos).

Service was kind and efficient! Food was delivered hot in a timely manner. Restaurant was very comfortably clean and cozy on our winter day.

It's not your traditional steakhouse (if you're from California) but the flavors were on point. The atmosphere had a tavern vibe with plenty of tables to accommodate large groups. We started with tortilla soup and Caesar salad which were fantastic. The wine list is very good offering many California wines at a reasonable price per glass. The food was good - however my medium rare filet came out rare and the ribs were slightly dry. However, the sauce for ribs was a 10/10. I have to shout out the Brussels which were the best I've ever had. Service was pleasant and chocolate cake to finish the meal was a decadent ending to a satisfying experience.

We've had to wait on one occasion, the hostess wasn't really trying to get us seated but the manager definitely had a sense of urgency to find us a table. The fried mushrooms are amazing, with their zesty ranch sauce. The pickles and peppers are okay too. I love their Caesar salad, so well dressed and fresh every single time! I usually get a baked potato and side of mushrooms or broccoli, their flash fried green beans are also excellent. If you get broccoli with cheese the cheese isn't shredded it's a cheese sauce like a Mac n cheese roux and cheese sauce. Also if you want regular asparagus be sure to mention it or else they'll bring you breaded asparagus. I also really want to try their frozen coke with rum, yum! It's a nice restaurant, one of the better, higher end, chain restaurants in Mishawaka/South Bend.

Shortly after we received our waters, the manager came by and offered us a full booth, which was great. We had impeccable service from a very knowledgable server who was extremely attentive. The sauce was so watery, it did not stick to the noodles and instead pooled at the bottom in a thin, salty, soup for the limp pasta to clump. The meatballs tasted like mystery meat. As someone from Chicago who knows what proper Italian, or at least American-Italian pasta should taste like, this was the worst dinner in South Bend of my week long business trip. What a disappointment after seeing the high reviews. For better and fresher tasting pasta, go across the river to Macri's Bakery/Carmela's instead. The Navarre salad with candied nuts and crumbled cheese was perfect, no notes.

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. If you have a special occasion, GO. Life is short--take the road trip to South Bend just for Roselily. The menu changes so I'll be back every chance I get! My only actual complaint? The owner wasn't there for me to beg him to open a second location in Lexington, KY!

We did the six-course chef's tasting with wine pairings and every single course delivered. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and incredibly well-balanced, and the wine pairings elevated everything even further. You can tell there is real thought and precision behind every detail--from the menu to the pacing of the meal. And the ambiance was a total vibe! But what truly made the experience stand out was the service. The team struck that rare balance of being both highly professional and genuinely warm. Nothing felt scripted. It felt personal. When they learned we were close to graduating from our MBA program, they surprised us with a menu signed by the entire staff, filled with handwritten notes of encouragement. One simply said, "Follow your dreams." That moment will stick with me forever: core memory unlocked. This is the kind of detail you do not forget. This is not just a great restaurant--it is a full experience. I would absolutely put Roselily at Michelin-star level. If you appreciate thoughtful, elevated dining with exceptional service, this place is worth going out of your way for. We will be back for sure!
