This nursery is primarily focused in the commercial trade and they are very good at what they do. I am just an advanced home gamer but I absolutely love them. But do understand they are not for those wanting to ask a bunch of questions about a single plant. For home owners wanting to purchase, you should know what you want and be knowledgeable. Also nice to browse and see what they have around the ground but it is for those who are independent shoppers with above average knowledge. Saving can be quite substantial compared to typical retail nurseries. For me they are perfect. One of the worst customer service experiences ever. Last year, we asked that mulch be delivered and left in our driveway-it was left on the sidewalk by the street. This year, same request, so you can imagine our surprise to find it on our front lawn with several bags broken open (see photos). However, it is really how the manager Dan responded that shows how little this company cares about its customers. Dan: "Sounds like a white person problem to me"? Huh? Really. Followed by "With all the commercial business we do, this doesn't really matter to us." Dan should be embarrassed to call himself an American businessperson and Edgewood should be ashamed they employ someone with such apathetic attitude. Bottom line: When someone is happy with a service experience they tell six (6) others. When they are unhappy, they tell thirteen (13). read more

Went to this Nursery today as a follow-up to two other visits in the last week to make a final purchase after researching different options they recommended. My wife was rudely greeted with a "not open to the public till 1:00 PM." I went over to the guy and stated we simply wanted to made a purchase. Response was, "We're not open till 1:00PM. Go to MRT where they'll put up with you." Unbelievable! No excuse for their RUDE Behavior!! Sure enough, we'll not go back there again, period! If you go there, shame on you. read more

They were so helpful and informative. Dan was extremely nice and even the staff I passed were very pleasant and directed me to the office. They are mostly wholesale and I was glad it wasn't busy, I went around 3 when I get off work rushed over knowing they close at 4. I did my homework. Their site also informs you that it is wholesale which means self-serve and only open to the public at certain times and nothing is marked. My landscaper sent me I wouldn't have known they were even there so I feel like I am supporting two levels of the local people trying to make a living around my community. Give them some grace...it's a hot thankless job and they are just trying to feed their families and service you the public. Went to Edgewood this morning. Have been there many times. When I went to the front desk to speak to the woman there, I had no idea that they weren't open to the public yet. She was very nasty, barely looking up from her desk. She snapped some thing about not being open to the public until 1 PM. I have no intention of ever returning after such low class treatment. I just don't need such disrespect as a customer. read more

I went in to purchase some plants. I have a hearing disability and had my service dog with me. When I was checking out the guy was very rude and told me to leave my fake service dog at home. He was very nasty about it! I was shocked. He said don't come back because we don't want to serve your kind of people. Needless to say I won't be back. He acted like trailer trash! Of course, he didn't act that way until after I had purchased the plants. read more

They are usually swamped with commercial companies so they have special hours for home owners. If you go during these specified hours, they are happy to assist and give you their full attention. My husband and I moved to Venice, FL about two years ago. We immediately needed to upgrade our landscaping. It was a great day when we found this nursery. Great plants, flowers, and prices !!! The people who own it are wonderful and always had time to answer our questions at the desk. They have a large sign at the entrance of their business that makes it clear that shopping by the public is open at set hours and days. They have a huge wholesale business. Alas, the great prices! There are many people who look like they work for the nursery but are landscapers. We have made the mistake of asking a question of someone who doesn't work there. But if you ask the owners, they bend over backward to help you out! Never had a problem with our dog coming along in search of fresh plantings for our yard. Chloe (our dog) LOVES to ride in the back of the customer golf carts the nursery provides for you since the place is very big and so much to see. Since we are dog lovers, it's always fun to pet the beautiful, large pup by the register who seems to be the mascot of the place. So sweet and friendly. We love our trips here. It's like a fun event. What better for an afternoon excursion than picking up fresh flowers and dealing with great people??! 5 BIG Stars for us! read more

This place is horrible. We have been purchasing from them for over 15 years and lately they have become a very different company. They have always favored landscapers over the retail trade but now it is at a new level. We have purchased a couple of thousand dollars of plants and mulch from them over the years and today they hung up on my wife for asking if they could take a pic of a $400 palm since they are not letting anyone in to look at plants.
