The pricing was very reasonable, and the turnaround was pretty quick considering everything was done during the farmers market hours. I was especially a little cautious about handing over my favorite knives, but I was very satisfied with the results. Once I got home, I put them to the test using both regular paper and facial tissue to see how cleanly they would cut. They passed both tests just fine and came back noticeably sharp. When I got back my "sharpened" knives, one of them had nicks and burrs. I don't know if you can see in the photos. The bottom part of the blade feels chewed up and rough. I had two other knives sharpened and they're not as sharp as when I've had them done with people who know what they're doing. I will only go back to see ask if they can fix the one with the nicks. After that, never again. I'm actually scared to have them touch my knife again, but it's want them to be aware of the lack of quality. If you care about your knives, call ALL SHARPENED UP (Orange County) or GARY'S KNIVES (South Bay and West Side) instead.

I researched the cost of a replacement set and, being the wise consumer I am, looked for a more reasonable option. SCS brought the entire knife set back to brand new co diction at a fraction of the cost. We had 6 knives sharpened for $72. Cash only. Far cheaper than a new set and we love the look and feel of our set. Kind of like a new pair of soles on your favorite shoes. The shop itself is a dump.... dusty from all of the industrial sharpening that they do here so don't plan shopping for new knives here. The service was top notch and they turned the Knives around in less than a day. They charge by the inch, a fair price and the knives are super sharp once again.

This one seemed the easiest to schedule. While not having a storefront, it was simple to schedule a meeting time at a convenient place where my knife was expertly sharpened. I was surprised at the number of customers he had when I arrived to drop my knife off; he obviously has a reputation for his craft. I went for a coffee and half an hour later returned to pick it up. Prices are fair and I am quite happy with his work.

When I showed up for pickup he tested each knife to cut a piece a paper and all of them were SHARP! I saw the work he did the bread knife and it was GREAT. I insisted I pay for the work he did with the bread knife. My girlfriend loves to bake bread so a good bread knife is a must in our household. Anyways, I showed up in the afternoon on a Tuesday, and I was the only one there. Shortly after walking in, a man who I presume is the owner, helped me out right after I said I had 2 knives to get sharpened. The front area has a big wooden cutting board that you can use to demo the knives out after they're sharpened, which I thought was cool. There's also walls and walls of cool knives, which I couldn't tell if they were for sale or for demos, but they were really cool to look at while I waited. The service was incredibly reasonably priced. I was out of there with sharpened knives in less than 10 minutes and the space was reasonably large. I hope that means the business is doing well. It certainly deserves to. I got exactly the service I requested. The quality of the knives was so good that my dad actually got a little cut after I gave them back to him. Nothing major, but was a bit funny and definitely proof that they were quite sharpened. The value for the time was extremely good. This is the type of small business that you definitely want to support, and I'll definitely be recommending Mr. Sharpe knives in the future.
