He quoted me $51 for everything, he said he would do what he can with the bread knife because he doesn't really do serrated. When I showed up for pickup he tested each knife to cut a piece a paper and all of them were SHARP! I saw the work he did the bread knife and it was GREAT. I insisted I pay for the work he did with the bread knife. My girlfriend loves to bake bread so a good bread knife is a must in our household. You can place an order, ask for a shipping box, arrange for pick up and delivery without any felt effort. Service is fast, often just a few days between placing an order and having your knives returned. My latest batch of knives left in miserable shape and returned sharp and gleaming. "Sharp" does not even begin to describe the edge that Schmidt's achieves for your knives. They also clean and polish your knives so you basically have a new set of knives each time. I had a chance to speak to Mike over the phone before I had them sharpened. Basically this company deals in bulk and the prices drop per knife the more that the customer sharpens. We had about 20 knives to sharpen and they ended up being about 7 dollars a knife when it was all said and done. The part that was pretty cool is that they send you an empty box directly to your house. It comes with a shipping label and some packaging material. After the knives were shipped back I got a phone call personally from Mike confirming that everything was perfect on my order. I cannot even begin to describe how sharp these knives were. I got to the shop, he quoted for all 5 plus my chef knife, bread knife, cleaver and fillet from home, and within 30 minutes, my knives were ready. Great experience, cool shop and Melvin did a fantastic job in a fast amount of time. I will definitely be back when I add more secondhand knives to my collection.

He sharpened and fixed the tips of two knives, and repaired one with a big chunk missing after a friend had a go at opening a coconut... Seems a fair price for the work done. They also have some good looking knives for sale. Super friendly, and clearly know their stuff.
