I have a nice set of kitchen knives that I keep in one of those butcher block type of counter displays. We use them daily. They look good and the different types are quite useful. The set comes with a tubular sharpening stone but after years of mild sharpening, we needed a new set. Or so I thought. I researched the cost of a replacement set and, being the wise consumer I am, looked for a more reasonable option. SCS brought the entire knife set back to brand new co diction at a fraction of the cost. We had 6 knives sharpened for $72. Cash only. Far cheaper than a new set and we love the look and feel of our set. Kind of like a new pair of soles on your favorite shoes. The shop itself is a dump.... dusty from all of the industrial sharpening that they do here so don't plan shopping for new knives here. The service was top notch and they turned the Knives around in less than a day. They charge by the inch, a fair price and the knives are super sharp once again. read more

I am a private chef by trade. I was in a bind over the summer and couldn't find anybody to sharpen my knives in a timely manner due to Covid. I found this company SCS industries in Huntington Beach and these guys hooked my chef knives up with a sharpening edge like no other & had awesome customer service. So since these guys hook me up over the summer I decide to go back today and have these guys sharpen my knives and these guys were able to do my chef knives overnight and put a another awesome edge on my chef gear. Have been debating on leaving a review because I hate to be that person... but I called and asked if they were able to sharpen my dog grooming shears to which I was told "yes" I dropped my shears off on a Thursday - the man I spoke with said the guy that sharpens should be able to get them done by Friday to which I said "no hurry - I don't need them until Monday" to be fair. Monday rolls around and I call twice - no call back. I have a working interview that was VERY important to me on Tuesday so I decided to just drop by and get them. I show up and the man tells me "oh he's working on them now come back in an hour" I walk away and hear him ask the man to "start on those" ....... I come back in an hour and am greeted with "so I don't know if these will work..." I let him know as politely as possible that they are $450 shears and they're very important to me .. so what exactly does that mean? He then said " oh well they will work, but if they don't bring them back, also we couldn't do you're curved shears so we're not charging" At this point I walked out and was in tears. I had literally ZERO time to get my scissors fixed before my working interview... The scissors that they worked on were completely ruined and now stick and grind when I try to use them... I'm praying I can get them fixed somewhere - because this is literally how I make a living... Just incredibly bummed on the lack of care and service that was provided. read more

I brought in 3 carbide saw blades to be sharpened. Marty sharpened the best one and gave me one he had in his office as a spare while the others got broken teeth repaired, sharpened, etc. he told me it would be $25 to sharpen the first blade...totally reasonable for a $100 blade. He also said that I could have the spare blade for the sharpening cost...sweet another $25. Turns out, the other two blades were beyond economic repair. Marty texted me and apologized for the misinformation and said no charge for the other blades...awesome. I'll definitely be back when these are worn. Thanks again Marty!!! read more

I thought I had to ad this business to Yelp since I spent some time trying to find a local place that sharpens knives and blades. I happened to find this place while searching for saw sharpening and I stopped by on a Saturday, and luckily they were open. I had 3 kitchen knives that i managed to kill the edge on trying to sharpen them myself, and I figured it was time to have a pro sharpen them. The price for knife sharpening is 75 cents an inch, or a minimum of $20. I just picked up my knives and I can honestly say they are much sharper now than they ever have been. If you've ever seen anyone slice through a single sheet of paper .. these knives will do that now. I'm impressed On another note, this place isnt' just knife sharpening, they also sharpen large saw blades, many of which were bigger than I am. Im sure this is an art that takes many years of practice to master. read more

These guys are great - I dropped my knives off and returned the very next day to pick them up. My knives seem sharper than when they were new! Wish I would've taken them in sooner instead of trying to make dull knives work. Five stars for workmanship and customer service. Call ahead as their machinery is quite noisy and they don't always hear their phone or doorbell. They sharpening everything you can imagine. These guys are professional and just straight up good dudes. I was looking for a local place to sharpen all of our dull kitchen knives. Read their reviews and always like supporting the local guy. I asked for a turnaround time, since no knives = no cooking. They said 'next day'. But when I got there, I asked if earlier was possible and they provided same day service on 9 items!! I called this company to get my chainsaw sharpened, I was told bring in my saw in and was quoted a price and it could take a couple days. When I arrived at the business I'm met with the owner who was rude telling me he didn't talk to me and that the chain needed to be removed. I explained that wasn't what I was told and he said to remove the chain will cost me lots more I should just go to a lawnmower shop to get it done cheaper. For an owner of a business to treat a new potential customer so rudely is disappointing. read more

Drive there to have a paper cutter sharpened as it was listed on their website as something they did, but got there to find out oh no, we don't do those takes too long to take them apart. Very disappointed and tried to justify the website by saying we do the big ones so technically it's correct. Can't comment on whether they do a good job or not only on customer experience which was pretty lousy. read more
