9/20/24 Beef O' Soya and Coconut Jollof Rice

This food was so good and not lacking any flavor! Beef was nice and tender and rice was perfectly seasoned and not dry at all. Their sauce on the side was spicy but that's what I like. Great choice!

As a Cameroonian who has tried authentic food many times before, Edie's gets five stars from me! The suya was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Probably some of the best soya I've had! It's not cut in the usual way I've eaten it before, but it doesn't make it any less good. The addition of the sauce on the side (I think one was spicy, another was ranch, and I didn't try the last one) was a great addition as well. I love soft plantains--something that you rarely see at African restaurants and is really mostly seen at Caribbean places, but Edie's executed perfectly. I think it was soft enough, not too soft, but it you're used to your traditional West African plantain you might not enjoy it. I say try anyway! Overall, for my first time in OKC I'm so glad I got a chance to try this place!

Oh so disappointing. The meat was extremely dry and overcooked. It did taste like it could have had good flavor if it weren't so dry. My sister had Beef Suya Sandwich and was super bummed out and i had the Steak Skewers and plantains. The plantains were definately not ripe, also very disappointing

Just tried Edie's for the first time, working my way through the different stops at the Collection. The beef soya sandwich and plantains were unique and delicious - the sandwich toppings were super fresh and plentiful, and it was big enough to share. The plantains were accompanied by a sweet dipping sauce that the whole table enjoyed. I'd definitely eat at Edie's again!

Wings and Dodo (Plantains)was delicious!! Seasoned well and cooked perfectly!

My god. It's so good. Beef soya + dodo. Do it, you're welcome. Great flavor, cooked perfectly.

This was absolutely amazing! I can with a group so we could all go to different places. Everyone needed to know what I got because it looked better than theirs! I wholeheartedly recommend Edie's to everyone! The owner was so polite and helpful, and it came out fast and hot!

Edie's Grill is located in the Collective on 10th street. On a recent trip there we decided to try out different restaurants, and Edie's was the firstchoice. The African brisket with rice and vegetables plus a side of wings. The brisket wea workman like, and the wings were so so. The star of the plate was the rice and vegetables. Some of the tastiest rice I've ever had at a restaurant, and the sautéed vegetables were wonderful.

Oh my gosh SO GOOD! This was my first time trying African cuisine and I'm so glad that I did. The flavors were immaculate and just the right amount of spice. We also got the plantains which were to die for! Probably my favorite place I've eaten at The Collective and I can't wait to visit again and try something else!

Never having tried Subsaharan Cuisine before, I was, of course intrigued. So, I asked the dashing man behind the grill what he suggested. A few moments later, he brought out a steaming platter of heaven on earth. Tender, flavorful brisket, vegetables grilled to perfection. And The Rice. Oh, the RICE. This food is made with love, y'all. Get some.

I got the beef suya sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very tasty. I wish they put more meat on the sandwich. The fries were very crispy. Just the way I like them. I will come back again. Give it a try for yourself.

Service: The lady at the register was very welcoming and even explained the spice options and most popular dishes. Ambiance: Seating options were abundant from chairs to bench's to stools with window seats as well. Just an added plus is that there are contactless sinks outside the restrooms, for ones (like me) who just want to wash their hands and not touch bathroom doors or sinks!

Even the Mild is spicy and the Lemon Herb (bottom of the spice level) has a kick to it. To be clear, I have zero tolerance for spice, so when other reviews say there is no spice in the Lemon Herb, they are probably used to spice on the daily.... Is this place Portuguese or African? I'm not sure! All I know is that this African Bird's Eye Chili spice is the real deal. I got the Lemon Herb Chicken Rice Bowl. It doesn't come with any vegetables, so it's pretty plain. You can order steamed vegetables, but that is mostly carrots and green beans. Hubs got the half chicken with mild and lemon herb. He is more used to spice and he was downing his water. It is packed with flavor with a punch, just not somewhere I would come regularly. The prices were on the higher side for what you get as well. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and patient with us as we were newbies. Easy parking.

The food was delicious I got the beef suya sticks and the coconut jollof rice, my partner got the beef sandwich and the dodo (plantains). We were both really pleased with the food and we will definitely be back. The only reason for the 4-star rating versus 5 is the fact that they had one person working the entire store during a lunch hour. It wasn't super busy but the food took a long time to come out because the gentleman behind the counter kept stopping to help people at the register. I get the strain to find good staff but having only one person seems counter productive when you're trying to push food out to customers.

I had the Beef Suya sandwich with dodo ($13). The sandwich was good but the Bell Peppers and Onion were just big chunks and barely cooked. Maybe that's traditional so I'm not knocking them for that. The Beef was great. Edie's dressing had a nice flavor. My big issue was the plantains were frozen and just dropped into the deep fryer, so they were served in a pool of grease and total mush. Plus I'm pretty sure they were bananas due to the sweetness and texture. It was disappointing but maybe it was an off day.
