A friend said the ribs were amazing but I went with the brisket dinner. I LOVED the jollof rice and the roasted veggies! I've been wanting to try this forever. It wasn't busy on a Friday evening around 5:30pm, so we got our order quick. The ribs were charred to perfection. The sauce was spicy and delicious. The jollof rice was my favorite part. It has such a unique flavor. It's in a great spot in the food hall. Definitely try it! read more

I dread going to The Collective, so thankfully this place was worth it. I had the Sub-Saharan ribs meal and it was excellent. The meal was made hot and fresh. The ribs were flavorful and had a light crispiness to them. The Jollof rice was delicious-tad oily though. I was not fond of the fries, weren't crispy and over-seasoned. As a Cameroonian who has tried authentic food many times before, Edie's gets five stars from me! The suya was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Probably some of the best soya I've had! It's not cut in the usual way I've eaten it before, but it doesn't make it any less good. The addition of the sauce on the side (I think one was spicy, another was ranch, and I didn't try the last one) was a great addition as well. I love soft plantains--something that you rarely see at African restaurants and is really mostly seen at Caribbean places, but Edie's executed perfectly. I think it was soft enough, not too soft, but it you're used to your traditional West African plantain you might not enjoy it. I say try anyway! The food is so flavorful. I had sautéed vegetables and JOLLOF rice. The flavor was unbelievable on the rice and the sautéed vegetables. They make your food to order so you have to wait a little bit for the food, but it was well worth it. I will definitely go to this place again. read more

Oh so disappointing. The meat was extremely dry and overcooked. It did taste like it could have had good flavor if it weren't so dry. My sister had Beef Suya Sandwich and was super bummed out and i had the Steak Skewers and plantains. The plantains were definately not ripe, also very disappointing read more

It is literally some of the best food I've ever had,especially the chicken soya sandwich and dodo fries which is my favorite item menu. The staff is great,the prices are good and it doesn't really matter what you order,it's just so good! Just tried Edie's for the first time, working my way through the different stops at the Collection. The beef soya sandwich and plantains were unique and delicious - the sandwich toppings were super fresh and plentiful, and it was big enough to share. The African brisket with rice and vegetables plus a side of wings. The brisket wea workman like, and the wings were so so. The star of the plate was the rice and vegetables. What is there NOT to love about Edie's. So far I've tried the wings, soya sticks and both soya sandwiches which are my favorite by far. I usually go with chicken sandwich, it has so much flavor packed in the meat, the freshness of bell pepper and cucumber on the sandwich just prefects it. TODAY I got to try the beef soya and it blew my mind how juicy and tender the meat was. Just mind blowing. The jollop of rice is good, not my favorite. The veggies and a little underwhelming but the DODO, that's where it's at. They have a special sauce for the dodo and it's just perfection. The service is always welcoming and not long wait times. This is 5 star food, plain and simple. If you are looking for a new spot, give this one a chance. My daughter and I stopped into The Collective after a long day of doctors appointments to try a variety of cuisines and lift our spirits. I made a beeline for Edie's because I've heard consistently that their food is phenomenal. We got the Sub-Saharan Pork Ribs meal with Dodo and Jollof Rice. The crew was working in the back so they didn't see us, no big deal, and I didn't want to ring the bell since I wasn't in a rush, so we just hung out for a few minutes looking over the menu. The interaction with the person taking the order was kind of weird, and my daughter asked if the worker knew me from somewhere and didn't like me because of the interaction. I don't know the worker, and my purpose was to try awesome food, and I understand anyone can have a bad day at any time, so I stayed positive, friendly, and didn't return the energy. The food would take a while, and we ordered other meals at a few others places in The Collective in between. Edie's was the only restaurant that didn't send a notice of a meal being ready, so when I went back to check I was met with a very annoyed worker, the same one from before. No problem, I thanked them and the second worker with them, got my food and enjoyed the meal with my daughter. This would be the sole reason for a 4 star rating rather than 5 star, just because a little kindness can go a long way, especially to two customers, one being a kid, just looking for a positive experience at the end of a rough day. I highly recommend Edie's Grill because the food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and comforting. I will be back, and will encourage other people to give it a try. I will review this place again in the future and I'm hopeful we'll catch a worker on a better day. read more

This was my first visit to The Collective. Before I went, I looked it up online and decided that this was the best place to try. I was not disappointed. I ordered the pork ribs meal. It was delicious! First, the ribs were tender but not falling off the bone. I like having to fight a little bit to eat the meat. I also liked the spice rib. They applied it generously. Then there were the sides - coconut jollof rice and sauteed veggies. The addition of coconut makes this jollof rice different than what I had at the now closed Mama Sinmi's and Mama Z's. I also like coconut, so I didn't mind that this rice tasted close to Mounds bar. The sauteed veggies were salted and seasoned just right - mostly a mix of thinly sliced bell peppers. There are several more places I want to try at The Collective, but this one is definitely worth a return visit. The food is great, and west African food needs more exposure in our market. read more

Ordered the wings that said Marinated and grilled. They were for my ten year old. The wings were completely covered in two different peppers and a spicy yellow sauce.
