Our first time visiting this place and what a pleasant surprise. Service was excellent, friendly and punctual. I ordered the cabbob medley of chicken, lamb and beef. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection and served with a delicious dipping sauce, similar to a Greek sauce. My wife and son both praised their meals. Then, you find a place where falafel is excellent, and you realize you never really knew falafel at all. Cous Cous showed me today that I did not know falafel. We were in town for an all day battery of tests at the Baptist/Integris doctor's complex for hubby. I scoured Yelp for an interesting ethnic restaurant. Finally I spotted Cous Cous and was so excited because we had visited Morocco in 2019 and LOVED it! The owner greeted us warmly and was pleased to learn we visited his country. He brought us Moroccan tea which he served with a flourish. I ordered the lamb plate and hubby ordered the mixed grill. The lamb was plentiful and very tasty without the odd taste I've encountered elsewhere. Hubby's mixed grill was very generous (for only $1 more) and he loved it. I was annoyed with myself that I did not specify couscous instead of rice! That's what I get for talking instead of paying attention. They also have a display case with some delicious looking cookies and desserts. We each ordered something to go to give us something to look forward to after the hour trip home to our ranch north of Chandler. I didn't get the name of my cookie but it had coconut in it and was so-so good. We will go back for sure! read more

Alright it's been a while since I've done one of these but Cous Cous was so damn good I had to let the people know. Gonna keep it simple. Service: Awesome. Kind. Patient. Accommodating. Food: Mostly new to me, so not a ton of reference points but I don't give a damn it was all stellar. I have never liked falafel but now I will be eating Cous Cous' falafel. That's how good it was. I don't drink unsweetened tea typically. Well guess what, now I drink unsweetened tea from Cous Cous because it was delicious and refreshing. It was quiet when we walked in but the vibe picked up soon after. A really nice quaint place to have a great meal. The only thing I didn't care for was the beet salad but, I don't care for beets in general so nothing against them. Try dessert! Thy have lots of options. Cous Cous Cafe is another good Mediterranean option in Oklahoma City, although not my favorite. What makes it different is the offer of Moroccan food such as Cous Cous and tagines which I have not tried. I went with the kofta plate and I think it was not a good selection. After Zamzam, I don't know if there's another place that offers better kabob. I would get their specialties the next time in town. As expected, the fish tagine is the better option. It comes with a healthy salad. The salmon tastes great. Extra love for the Moroccan hot tea. The Moroccan almond cake is divine. The cake is moist with crunch almonds sprinkles on top. Hole in the wall Moroccan restaurant. Definitely underrated because I had to search to find this place. I came here with family and everyone loved their food. The lamb tagine and lamb couscous were so good. There wasn't as much meat as I'd like for the tagine because the bone was so big. My husband was still hungry after eating his meal, but it was enough for myself as I generally eat smaller portions than him. This was my husband and my first time here and it was amazing! We agreed that the flavor and spices were delicious. The service is very good also. Once this was one of my favorite restaurants. They had the best gyro in town and prices were reasonable. I was in OKC and decided to stop by. Well the $7 gyro is now $12 and the amount of meat has been cut in half. The French fries have also been downsized dramatically. I asked for ketchup and was given a small cup with a small squirt of ketchup and she looked at me funny when I asked foThey didn't put tzatziki on the my sandwich and then wanted to charge me for it! The tzatziki is doesn't have the freshness or the herbs it used to. Finally when I showed the man that there was no sauce he said they wouldn't charge me. Sorry Cous Cous, you just are not the same. I love how many different options Oklahoma has for Mediterranean! We frequent Basil and enjoy their food. We've also had ZamZam, Zorbas and Shawarma & Co. I'd like to think we can taste good vs okay Mediterranean food. Cous Cous is definitely one of our favorites. Our go to order is the mixed grill plate which comes with 3 meats, rice and a choice of either salad or couscous. I always go with the chicken and kofta, rice and salad. It comes with a side of white sauce as well which has a bit of a dill taste. We also order hummus on the side to share between the both of us. Their chicken is one of the most flavorful and tender/juicy pieces of chicken I've ever had. I literally turned to my hubby and said, are you sure this is breast? It was THAT juicy and tender. My friends rave about this place, so I felt like I needed to try it! Thankfully it did not disappoint! Went there on a Thursday at 12:30 for lunch, and there were a few other customers but it wasn't crowded. There are a lot of tables. The service was pretty speedy, and the man (who might be the owner?) who handled the cash register and waited on tables was very attentive and on top of our needs. It was neat to see his kids (I think) in the restaurant, which seemed to accentuate the family owned and authentic feel to the place. They have a lot of interesting artwork on the walls too! Now for the food -- SO GOOD! I got the gyro sandwich, which was a pretty good size for lunch and also for $7. Enough for me for lunch, but maybe not for a very hungry me. Still a great deal for $7! The meat was so juicy and flavorful! It didn't feel like they were stingy with it. The veggies seemed fresh, and the pita bread was soft and pillowy. So good!! The special sauce, kind of like a garlicky tzatziki type sauce, was amazing and made the gyro one of the best I've had in OKC or for a long time in fact. My friend got a platter with pita, hummus, and couscous, and she was a big fan as well. They also had an assortment of cookies, pastries, and baklava at the counter, and I'll have to try those some other time! Overall, I'm a big fan of such affordable and delicious food! Short version? Stellar for the price, go for some cheap and high quality food. Long: Atmosphere is a little lacking, with cement floors and bare-bones take on the location. Nice art on the walls though. Food: like I said, extremely good for the price. Moussaka in particular stood out to me. Personally thought lamb plate was a little tough and chicken plate was average, but not bad. Rice was a little dry but still good. They were out of lamb shank when we were there for dinner, which was a little unfortunate because many of their specialty dishes rely on it. We started with an order of falafel balls with dipping sauce, and the small hummus dish with pita. Both perfect! Followed with the vegetable couscous entrée, with 2 lamb skewers...and the lamb tagine and couscous. The lamb tagine was caparisoned with an exotic and quite delicious sauce made with sautéed sweet onions and raisins. The spices/flavors were subtly wonderful. Couldn't have been better! The food was okay, but service was poor. I'm not sure how I didn't discover this place sooner. Vegetarian options, a diverse Mediterranean menu, reasonable prices and plenty of seating inside. Cous Cous has a lot of potential, but falls short in several areas, in my opinion. Upon entering, we noticed a large seating area, but it was unclear if you wait for seating, seat yourself or order at the counter. After a few minutes of awkwardly waiting, an attendant said we could seat ourselves. We started with the trio sampler. The hummus was good (freshly made) and the falafel was great. Warm and crunchy with a soft, flavorful center. The pita bread was okay, but the couscous was very bland. The entrees were decent, but across the board lacked flavor and were heavy on the rice. The falafel burrito was mostly lettuce and rice, with a few small falafel pieces as an afterthought. Our friend had a chicken plate that was a huge bed of rice with only a small amount of chicken pieces on top. Service was close to non-existent. We didn't get water refills and we waited at least 15 minutes after finishing our food before anyone even acknowledged us to take plates and offer carry out containers. After that, we never got a check, even after another 10 minutes or more had passed. I went up to the counter and waited while someone took orders over the phone. After she was done, I got an awkward look and was asked "can I help you?" I was only asking for the check and was caught off guard. A few more words on the menu. Although some sections and items are labeled as vegan and/or vegetarian, it was a bit confusing as to what was what. All of the salads were listed as vegan, however some came with feta cheese. I had to ask if the falafel burrito was vegan and at least our waitress was able to say it can be vegan without sauce. Overall, the food could have used more seasoning. While a few items felt authentic, others were more lackluster. While not a complaint, we thought it was interesting that French fries and chicken nuggets were also on the menu. While seemingly out of place, I'm sure they're mainly there for kids. Service was an area that needed attention at Cous Cous. We dined on a Sunday evening and it was not busy, so we didn't see a reason for service to be as inattentive and cold as it was. While the menu did note some vegan options, it lacked clarity and should be updated to make ordering easier for those on special diets. I'd be willing to come back and try this place again, especially since the cost for food is definitely on the cheaper side compared to other nearby restaurants. read more

After reading other reviews I honestly wasn't expecting much, since we weren't ordering a tagine, their house speciality. But WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. My gyro was overflowing with thick cuts of tender, flavorful meat..pita soft and pillowy, fresh tasting. It was big and filling and only $4.99. Homemade tzatziki, extra on the side so I control how much. Sauce added a nice freshness, not a sour one, very good. I was seriously loving every bite! Two gals on late night staff were a bit standoffish but nice enough. But whoever was cooking back there is doing it right! Nothing skimpy about what we had. This was my first time eating/ordering from Cous Cous and we ordered takeout! The food did take awhile to be prepared but was well worth the wait. I got the chicken plate pictured. It came with two kabobs rice, salad, and taztziki sauce. The chicken had a ton of flavor and to my satisfaction it was not dry! The salad was well dressed and the tzatziki sauce was the best I've had yet. My boyfriend got the falafel burrito and we shared an appetizer of hummus with pita.
