An end of an era. I…read morestopped by CDC this week and saw going out of business signs. Doug says he plans to finish up by new year. Oh the good old days! Saturday morning get up early for the Dallas sidewalk sale. Then hit Tanners for the every day stuff. Maybe go to Fort Worth to see Louis Curly at Nortex. Then go to Radio Shack outlet store. There used to be dozens of stores selling military or industrial surplus in the Dallas area. We had Texas Instruments, Collins Radio, Andrew electronic warfare, Ericson Electric, General Dynamics, and lots of other high tech manufacturers. They provided good jobs and sold off their excess and obsolete inventory for pennies on the dollar. Texas instruments sold directly to their employees at Wally's store and sold job lots to surplus dealers from their Crosby road warehouse. The light manufacturing has been sold off or moved offshore. I will miss being able to go to CDC and buy NOS American made tools and components. I will also miss listening to Doug stringing along telemarketers on the phone . If you are a CDC regular, stop by and stock up, and say HI to Doug. CDC will be gone in a month. Many thanks to Doug and his parents. They had a great selection of man toys. I will miss CDC!

Dropped off 2 PWC cylinders on JULY 20TH to be blasted, bored, honed, and decked. Was given an…read moreestimate that they would work on them AUG 11TH and should have them done mid to late Aug. Called them on AUG 23RD and was told they blasted them and should be a few more weeks. Ok, no big deal I understand delays happen. Called again multiple times in mid/late Sept and got the same response. I'm starting to get a little frustrated at this point. Called again beginning of October and the same thing "the tech is measuring them and we should know in the next few days what pistons you need, I will call you once I know more". By now boating season is wrapping up. Finally said screw it and drove to the shop and picked them up OCT 24TH. During the span of 3 months, I never received 1 call about the status of the work, delays, or any info. Clearly my business is not important to them so I decided to take it elsewhere. I've been more than patient and understanding about the delays, but at a certain point I'm tired of being lied to. If you're a racer or have a trip or some sort of hard deadline you need a project finished by, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Also, in regards to the media blasting that they did do, I was told the coolant passages would be cleaned out and cylinder looking like new. Still lots of paint and corrosion everywhere on the cylinders and coolant passages. Lack of attention to detail and care for the customer. Will never do business with them and do not recommend.
