Edmar "fine" jewelry is run by children. Haven't even gotten to go in but the customer service over the phone was disgusting. Guy Answered the phone with a bothered "hello" and thought for sure I called the wrong number. I proceeded to let the guy know I have a gold chain bracelet that needs to be fixed and if they offer that service and I could get a price range. He sarcastically tells me "I guess anything from $1-$1,000" and laughs. I explain it's just one link in the chain could I get a better range and he proceeds to raise his voice and say "no no no" repeatedly. So unprofessional! I just completed my first experience with Edmar Fine Jewelry and I must say that I am completely blown away. First some background: I own a Breitling watch with custom diamond inlays throughout the bezel/case/lugs and needed some work on one of my chronograph pushers. Typically I would send my watch to the manufacturer for work because I am a stickler for competence, standard of care, and overall trust; however, due to the diamond customizations, Breitling will not service the watch due to the liability. Despite Phoenix being a very large metropolitan area, there aren't many competent local watchmakers that can handle the task so I started contacting potential specialists. From first contact with Robby (she co-owns the business with her husband Edward), it was clear that she was lightyears ahead of every other company I reached out to and I was instantly (although cautiously) confident that I had found the right people. Once I arrived, I met Robby and Edward and could tell from their knowledge, demeanor, and professionalism that I had indeed found the right people. Not only are they experts in their craft, they are genuinely nice people...like, of the best caliber. Edward (expert watchmaker), upon his own motivation and work ethic, stayed at the shop hours late last night to complete the job and even texted me upon finishing with the great news that my beloved watch was back to it's original condition. From initial contact to completion was less than 1 day. ...totally in awe! For comparison, the other companies I contacted (the few that I actually trusted to even explore further) were estimating many days to diagnose and weeks to complete the work. Between the lightning fast service and Edward's extensive knowledge and invaluable experience, I feel like I got the bargain of a lifetime. I can honestly say that I am completely committed to this company in the future and can't possibly convey how highly I recommend them. Not only was the experience, service, and work top-notch, but they were the breath of fresh air in a subpar business world. These people are the light in the tunnel. The cheer to the gloom. I went in to Edmar to see if my marcasite jewelry could be cleaned. They took the three pieces (earrings and a pin) to the back and polished them. When the owner brought them back to me I was horrified. The pin looked nothing like it did before he "cleaned" it and the earrings were not much better. There was a white scum covering the pieces. These pieces are family heirlooms. I was heartbroken. To make matters worse, when I complained that it was not acceptable, they said that it was good that "they learned something"! I cannot believe how defensive tHe owner was- he blamed me for bringing the jewelry in and asking for it to be cleaned. I said that he is the professional and should have told me if there was any risk before he cleaned it. He and his helper continued to deny any responsibility. I am really so heartbroken- these pieces were my grandmothers and I intended to give them to my daughter. They are not even wearable now. read more

My personal experience and opinion. I came here to get my wedding band sautered together and to get my ring resized smaller. After noticing when I picked up my jewelry my diamond was crooked and one of the prongs were lifted I brought it back to express my concerns. Edmar was extremely rude insinuating I did it but he could give me a "good price" to fix it. I felt like it could've been done on purpose to make more money off of me. After the lady in the store told him remember these are new customers just make it right. He slammed his hand down and said fine I'll do it for free. There was no way I was trusting them with my wedding bands after this experience. Incredibly unprofessional and RUDE! I thought the diamond was gone and was going to have a CZ put in the ring. He has fixed our watches, replaced batteries and let me browse to my heart's content! A woman came in with a very expensive watch that needed a minimal repair. I've had rings resized, watch links removed, inserted or repaired, missing diamonds replaced, and cleaning of intricate pieces done. Always received my jewelry back cleaned and polished, without even asking for them to do it. The prices are reasonable, and the thing I like best about Edmar Fine Jewelry is that it is a family owned business and does not have a lot of uninterested employees working for it. I always get a call from them when my piece is ready. Edward is especially good with wristwatches -- he knows everything about them! I think "curious g." had to be an aberration, because Edmar is consistently on top of their work.
