Those players score points by passing people on the track. Only the Jammer in the lead gets the points. Games are quite exciting as it is faced paced and very active. These women and men are very athletic! The games are licensed so you can enjoy some bevvies. There is also food things to buy. They often do baked goods or canteen food. There are also merchandise tables to buy roller derby associated goods. At the last game we were at they even had a massage therapist doing free 5 minute chair massages. So come out and try something new and have some fun. Support some local athletes and have a unique date!

This location has some great features, wide open spaces, tons of machines, great free weights section, several squat racks and 2 smith machines as well. It also feature a ladies only workout area with many cardio machines, several isolated weight machines, cable machine, squat rack, and stretching mat. Every time I come here one of the staff members is always cleaning. I feel they are trying their best to keep up with the cleaning, refilling paper towels and cleaning spray / hand sanitizer. I wish they would have wipes to use instead of spray and paper towels as I don't think having everyone touch the same spray bottle is really great unless they're cleaning those bottles consistently. This GoodLife also has group fitness and open studio time. They have the hot yoga room as well where you can go stretch and do your own self guided flow or join a class and have a good stretch. They offer tanning at this location as well and have a sauna / steam room in the showers area. Overall, the staff here are super friendly and really helpful. I've had great experiences here. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a 24 hour gym option.

The atmosphere was beautiful, bright, and clean! Glow Juicery is just inside to the left for a pre or post workout treat! I love that everything is made right in front of you and totally customizable! I love ANYTHING with ginger and kale - Yummy! Erin was the instructor for my class - super friendly and knowledgeable. She gave alternatives for lower impact options when it came to the cardio section. I was really surprised at the intensity of the class given the small movement/range of motion. I am confident the class could kick the fittest butt around as well as being modifiable for someone just starting to work out. Class was broken up into warm up, upper body with weights, lower body with a squishy ball, cardio, and ab work on eco friendly mats. They provide everything you need, including lockers with a key! They sell special footy socks that help you grip the floor if you like. I noticed on the wall that they were in the midst of a 30 day challenge, too! There were three large washrooms and beautiful vanity sink area complete with personal hygiene items if you needed to freshen up. If you are looking for a women only fitness class, definitely give Barre Body Studio a try!

For the noise and crowd: I plan my workout time around rush hours and I completely avoid the place when there is a tournament. The customer service is awesome and the staff is always nice and helpful! I haven't had any bad experiences related to customer service! If you plan it right, you can enjoy your workouts here! From a 22 (yes twenty two) year LA Fitness member…read more I am visiting Edmonton from the United States for a few weeks and wanted to use the LA Fitness facility during my stay. Upon checking in, it was discovered that although I hold a National membership, which grants access to all 50 U.S. states, it is not INTERnational so it doesn't extend to Canada - because the membership is so old. Complicating the situation further, my girlfriend recently joined while in the States, and her membership allows her access to ANY LA Fitness facility throughout North America. To obtain the same access she enjoys, I was informed that I would need to cancel my 20+ year membership and sign up for a new one at a higher cost. Understanding my predicament, Ray, the gym manager, escalated the issue to his manager and was able to find a solution. While somewhat clunky, it was effective and allowed me to continue using the facility. I've worked exclusively in customer service for more than 40 years and Ray earns an A+ for his patience, understanding, and creativity. As for the gym itself, I have worked out at LA Fitness locations in Washington, Oregon, California, and Arizona. While the Edmonton facility is slightly smaller than a few I've visited and lacks a couple of machines I'd like to have, I've had no trouble getting in a solid workout. It is clean, well-managed, and welcoming. Thank you, Ray Hurrel, and thank you, LA Fitness, for honoring and protecting our long-standing relationship.

I was not told the end date of the promo. When I went to purchase the membership today they told me it ended on Saturday. Earlier in the week when I asked a woman working there when the promo would be done, she said "before Christmas" but didn't give me a date. Today I went back in and asked to speak to a manager or the owner to see if I could still be eligible for the promo since I was never told that it was ending before the end of my free one week trial. I was told that I couldn't speak with the manager or the owner and there was no way of extending the promotion. I am very disappointed as I liked the gym a lot and was ready to sign up for one year. Update, I just found out the woman I was speaking with WAS the manager and she didn't identify herself to me.

Spin classes are hardcore and have been awesome as well, I find everyone in the gym, newbies, pros, jacked, jacked up, small, natural.
