First time in Twain Harte and it was so peaceful and pretty. Before heading to our cabin, we stopped by Ed's and could not have stopped at a better bar. The bartender was so friendly and welcoming. He was very professional and made sure to attend to each customer in the order they came in which I respect. We ordered a shot of gin with sprite and a gin n' tonic. It came out to $8 and I couldn't believe it! I'm so use to high prices out in the Stockton Area and Bay Area. One thing to keep in mind is that they only take cash but they also have an ATM to use if needed. read more

This vintage bar in Twain Harte is your old-school bar with a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, along with Pepsi and water. Pay by cash and they have an ATM inside, along with a digital jukebox. It's kept clean and maintained inside and out. Heating system is the fireplace and in the summer, swamp cooler. The building is adjoined to Twain Harte Mountain Liquor Store in town. The old Twain Harte Lodge which burned down in 2002 was located to the left of it, across from the 7-11 Store. A nice, laid back atmosphere, friendly and full of spirit and good people. Cigarette smoking is not allowed inside, but only on the back patio out the right exit door, past the restrooms. Great place to visit or hang out at. Highly recommended!! read more

It depends what your scene is. I'm from the city, so I don't like dive bars. This is a very small, dark, basic dive bar in town.

Nice laid back spot very friendly bartender and the best part they are a Giants bar and 49ers. The drinks were cheap and poured heavywhich is a plus. Would come here again when in the area. read more

WOW, where do I start? My hubby brought me & my friend here the other night for a pre-fourth of July celebration. We walked in & knew we were "not in Kansas anymore"...lol It was full of smoking locals. We ordered Kamikaze's and to our surprise, the bar does not supply enough high ball glasses for our drinks. The bartender asked a group of ppl that were sitting behind us if they were done with there glasses b/c she needed them for our drinks! YUCK!!!!! They gave her the glasses and she "washed" them.. OMG, I can't believe I drank out of that glass...Makes me sick to think about it...UGH The topper of the evening....ready??? Ed's is the type of place I love, loud music, mean muggin' locals, clampers, and strong cheap well drinks. Me and a few friends were visiting from a town that is similar to twain Harte and were stoked to find this place. The bar keep was awesome, kept the $3 whiskeys flowing and gave us the dirt on some of the locals who were there. The place got packed later on in the night and some of the local boys looked like they were waiting for us to step out of line but we were not there for trouble and they didn't try to start anything. The jukebox was bumpin some old hip hop, outlaw country, punk and metal. Don't expect vodka above stoli or gin better than sapphire, don't expect a well lit quiet cocktail lounge, do NOT f@$# with the locals and remember to tip well. Ed's I will be back! read more

I am a small town girl at heart who moved to Orange County and this place was in some ways a refreshing break from the superficial world I deal with daily. The bar tender Kim was hillarious and friendly, the other patrons all had a story to tell, over all the experience was interesting...in a good way. We were able to walk to the bar from our cabin which was a nice perk. The music was blaring and everyone (including the local PD who stopped in) seemed to be having a great time! They have boxed wine, peanuts and vulgar wall decor all of which didn't bother me. I wasn't expecting some classy place in the middle of the country. You have to take it all in for what it is. Cheap drinks, Journey on the Jukebox and locals with some funny things to say! I will be in Twain Heart again this summer and can't wait to go back. read more

If it was possible to give this place 0 it would be well deserved. If grimmy dirty dive bars and shitty people are your thing then you are in the perfect place. Ed's bar got it all.. The atmosphere can be summed up in the aroma you first smell when you walk in. The smell of failure and misery. The bartenders are are miserable as the people getting served drinks. I love Ed's I come here all the time I turned 21 last year in December I love the staff they are awsome I love them and I usually tip $5 a drink but I would like to report on 1 bartender sunday July 7th 2019 around 11:25 or 11:30 I came in and the lady with brown hair and black shirt treated me horrible and embarrassed me in front of all the other people in the bar. I was buying my first drink tonight and I gave her my I'd I haven't seen her here before and I guess she can't read because she asked repeat questions about the information on my I'd witch clearly stated that I am 21 and then after she made the comment in front of everyone that "she could make my life really hard if she wants to because she doesn't have to serve me any drinks" that happened as soon as I walked up to the bar she also dropped a glass right after because she was waisted drunk herself and extreamly harassing and rude to me. Like I said I love Ed's and I love the staff I have had the best times here but I would really like to tell on this lady she was very mean to me for no reason at all. I love this place every time we visit twain the first night we go out we normally start at the casino or the emryhouse but always end up at eds by the end of the night...Kim is the best bartender ever..she keeps everybody in check and if things get out of hand you better believe she will be standing on that bar yelling shut!! up!! next go's the music and it doesn't go back on until she gets what she wants...lol a real character..but no mater what she makes damn sure that everybody has a full drink and a good time..put it this way the first time I went to eds within 10 min me my girlfriend and about 6 of are friends were on the bar downing shoots and singing along to are favorite song...il never forget that night...if you are anywhere near twain hart you must stop by ed's but I suggest getting there after 10:00pm that's when the party really starts... read more

STILL allows smoking. 3rd strike in 6 years trying to just have a quick, cheap beer with my boyfriend and we will NOT be back. The bartender was friendly enough but didn't want to be the 'bad guy' and make anyone smoke outside when it's so cold outside..you mean, like EVERY other restaurant/bar in town? It's illegal people, no matter how small town you are. I even called ahead this time and was told smoking was 'Absolutely not' allowed. Well..that's interesting because when we walked in there were 2 men with 2 ashtrays in front of them going at it. The bartender did say it was time to put them away because the next bartender was due in soon. Otherwise, nice little dive bar. Sad that they prefer to cater to a few instead of follow the law. read more

After spending another fun-filled Friday & Saturday at Ed's, I decided to share a little bit of the insanity with others.
