Rib eye burned outside
Cora F.

I have been here may be 4x and always love it!! Last Friday Dec 5th 8:30 pm RSVP, was not good. The rib eye steak was burned outside and so many burned bits and pieces. I ended up scraping it. The lamb was red outside. No green vegetables too. The crab cake and onion soup were not in the menu. Selections of food are not that great this time.

This place is very beautiful and a upscale restaurant. Service rocks! And the food is SUPER good! I would dine here again.

My son and I had New York steak dinners this evening and it was fantastic. The hosts were very accommodating and took us in a little early. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The servers were very on top of checking on us and making sure we were enjoying our meal. It was a great experience and we definitely will be back.

Located inside the black oak casino on the third floor. I came in with a group of 7. We made dinner reservations. I recommend making reservations if you are interested in eating here. They seated us as soon as we arrived. Our waitress was amazing! She knew the menu like the back of her hand and let us know about their specials. She did a great job of checking on us throughout our visit. I ordered the seared scallops. It came with rice and asparagus. The presentation was fabulous. Everything was cooked perfectly which especially is a big deal for scallops. So delicious and seasoned perfectly. Everyone in our party loved their food. Not one complaint across the board! They ordered the crab carbonara, Atlantic salmon, orange duck, and millionaire Mac and cheese. FYI side salads are huge. The bread they brought before our meal was delicious too. My only complaint is I expected more from their cocktails. I ordered the pomegranate cosmopolitan and another in the party ordered a smoked old fashioned. For the smoked old fashioned it was lower tier quality wise compared to other ones I have had before. My cosmo I wish was more along with a traditional recipe and stronger or had a nicer presentation. This would have me more rate it 4.5 but I still am rounding up to 5 because everything else was so great. We leave very pleased! And definitely recommend going here if for a special occasion while in this area.

On our way up to Pinecrest to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary we stopped at Black Oak Casino to gamble since check it time for our AirBnB wasn't until 4pm Seven Sisters Restaurant, located on the third floor of the Black Oak Casino outside of Sonora, offers award-winning fine dining with top-notch service and tableside manner paying attention to even the unspoken details of guests along with offering a picturesque view of the Sierra Foothills. Seven Sisters uses only the finest ingredients for its menu items that rotate with the seasons. The restaurant menu is constantly adding specials to suit the seasons and item availability, including locally grown produce from an on-site vegetable garden. The menu is full of a variety of specialty fresh meat dishes and seafood selections that are flown in day-to-day. Sauces, breads and desserts are prepared as labors of love by the chefs on a daily basis. Seven Sisters, named after the matriarchs of the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Tribe, has a romantic and luxury ambiance that would be great for a special occasion or dinner date! We shared roasted brussel sprouts and a spring salad. Husband had a filet mignon and I had to the Corkshew Chicken Pesto Pasta! After a few drinks from the bar we ordered dessert and the waitress brought a surprise for our anniversary and the best crème brûlée!

Ask the Community - Seven Sisters

Is there a dress code?

I think Business casual-but we were staying in the RV park, some of us were wearing very casual clothing.

Formal or casual attire?

Casual would be fine or formal if needed for a special occasion. Either will work

Sunday breakfast buffet?

No, buffets still aren't allowed.

Is this place kid friendly?

I have taken my grandchildren to 7 sisters many times. They are welcome n they have learned how to order n are well behaved. Fancy or not. If children misbehave in a restaurant it's not pleasant to anyone

We were greeted and seated within minutes, even on a busy Thursday night -- the kind of prompt, attentive service that's increasingly rare these days. This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team. We'll absolutely be back for visit number five.

There is an upstairs area that has views of Sonora, but also overlooks the outdoor area which is great for people watching. The Armory is family and dog friendly and it was great to see families and their fur babies enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. The menu has great appetizers to share, salads and bowls, tacos, sandwiches, and satisfying pastas + a delicious short rib plate. The drink menu is extensive - they have an impressive variety of barrel-aged bourbons, Irish whiskeys, scotch, rye, tequila, and mezcal and quite the selection of beers on tap, in bottles, and in cans. The wine list will have something for everyone. And the cocktails all looked amazing! We had the smoked pork nachos, ahi poke bowl, and the Rodeo Burger. Everything was tasty and came out quickly. The mojito was on the lighter side but still very refreshing with nice flavor. I would definitely get this again. The Chicken Fajita Bowl was soooo good. Chicken was perfectly prepared. Juicy and bite sized pieces made it easy to consume. Definitely wished there was more chicken in this dish but price was awesome so I guess it worked out. Kids size chicken tender was pretty significant. This is enough for two kids to share. The waffle cut fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The guys in the kitchen know magic or something. Overall a great experience. Veey friendly staff that mostly left you alone to enjoy but still checked in occasionally.

She had us laughing, remembered everyone's orders without missing a beat, and when we wanted to add something at the last minute, she got it in right before the breakfast cutoff. That kind of quick thinking and warmth is rare, and it made the morning feel easy and fun for the whole group. Tanner took care of us at dinner and was equally impressive. Polite and attentive, he checked on us often and kept everything running smoothly even with a full docket and several family parties in his section. Juggling that many tables while making each one feel looked after is no small feat, and he handled it with real composure. We're a captive audience staying at an expensive hotel, I get that things will cost more. For breakfast though, coffee is $12 for a "French press for 2". 2 mugs are provided and you'd be quite lucky to get a mug and a half of coffee out of it. Also the coffee is not great but that's a different issue. $12 for 2 people to feel like they didn't get much coffee is a bummer. Also we got the lox bagel one morning. It was an open face lox sandwich ON HALF A BAGEL. I asked the server, surely a mistake, where is the other half bagel? Menu suggests "a bagel", which would suggest an item totaling a single bagel. The server fought the good fight with their GM and got us another half a bagel. Such a bizarre thing. I get that food costs are high and all, but in that environment you can charge a little more and ensure customers don't feel like they're being squeezed. It's ok to be expensive and generous (at a luxury resort). It's not ok to be pretty expensive and stingy. My tip, grab a coffee at the shop next to the lobby, and a bagel there too while you're at it.

The interior is dimly lit, calm, and still very inviting--something you really have to experience in person. The atmosphere itself is on the smaller side, but it fits the cozy, hidden speakeasy vibe perfectly. That being said, the pricing is a bit tough to swallow. I ordered a drink for $22 that tasted good, but overall, the drinks here are just way too expensive for what you get. They also had live music playing during our visit; it was good lounge background music that added a nice vibe to the room, but it wasn't anything spectacular or something to get overly excited about. It's a cool spot to check out for the ambiance, but the high drink prices keep it at a flat three stars for me.
