Their food is good, authentic. Friendly staff. One negative, the place is rundown. The entrance is enough to turn folks around.

My friends and I stopped by for dinner. We did a quick internet research on good dining spots…read morenearby and this popped up. We decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit here. You do hear Spanish convos in the back kitchen. This restaurant seems really authentic. The servers were young and able to answer any questions you had about the menu. The food came out in a timely manner. They were good about checking in on us. I personally got to try the AL PASTOR QUESADILLAS. The pork was well marinated. There were 4 pieces with a side of rice, guac & beans. The meal was well balanced. The food itself is delicious here! I also got to try the CHAMANGO. It had every ingredient that it was supposed to have - tajin & chamoy sauce inside with a chunky straw coated with tamarind. This drink has a slightly salty/spicy, tangy & sweet taste all in one. It's more expensive than other drink options here, but it's big in size & well assembled. Overall, this is a solid Mexican spot that you won't be disappointed to try. I believe that everything you order here will be good based on what I tried.

After a full day exploring the vast San Luis Valley, the largest high mountain valley in the world,…read morewe were ready for a good meal. I ordered the taco plate, which was satisfying and, surprisingly, priced like it was still pre-pandemic. In today's world, that alone earns goodwill. A few things could elevate the experience. The main dining area would benefit from better ventilation. Also, the salsa bar clearly meant to be a showcase feature, needs more attention during the day. A quick refresh here and there would go a long way toward presentation and food safety. Things like dried salsa around container rims, a stray floating ramekin lid, and limes that looked like they'd been slowly dehydrating made it feel neglected. Finally, table service should include checking back on drinks. A quick pass to refill or ask if anything's needed would make the service more complete. It was a four-star experience but somewhere I'd consider returning given fairly limited options in Monte Vista. With more attention to detail it could be in competition for a five star rating.
