Nelson and Ed are truly the most hospitable humans. The experience from booking to end was so easy and helpful. We booked the night before and got a private tour with Nelson who made our experience magical! The ride was smooth- atm experience was adventurous- the cenotes and history magical- food was mouth watering a long with the chefs being so pleasant! They burned this amazing tree sap that cleanses space and gave us some to take home! They even bought my niece a cake for her birthday! My friend and I came here for a little adventure. I believe the guy who owns the place his name is Patrick his family set this place up if I am correct. Anyways I had the most amazing time here. I had a zip lined, rode the ATVs, Cave dived. This was all for a really good price, at the end of the tour they had these tacos and I must say they were probably the best tacos that I had since I've been in Mexico because I really hadn't had any luck with the food there. This excursion happened to fall into my lap! I was searching everywhere to get all the things I want done but instead I found an all-in-one tour! I did the "extreme" excursion that cost about $165 US dollars per person. You get to zip line, drive an ATV, climb a wall, rappelling after, and visit 3 different ecosystems to snorkel. Javier was our tour guide, very knowledgeable since he's been doing it for 9 years. He watches out for different animals to show you while driving through the "jungle" which was cool. You can tell he loves animals and isn't about the capturing animals like dolphins to make money and stuff. (We asked about going to those places that's why) They work alongside with "Selva Maya" to zip line and stuff and they were great as well. We did 9 zip lines, 5 bridges, rock climbed on one wall, rappelling the other side, and 3 eco water systems to snorkel in. --First snorkel was a quiet cenote called "bonito cenote". A A little cold so we decided to jump off this plank straight into the water first. Then we swam around inbetween the rocks to 2 small areas. --Second snorkel was in this cave cenote and yes there were bats! The water was a little sandy due to the calcium of the rocks, had a stench, and felt a little dirty :/ cool experience though. --Third snorkel we went to the beach and had to swim out. Unfortunately I only made it half way until I started freaking out about breathing in my mask and the waves were making me a little seasick. Feedback from everyone? There were huge sea turtle and so many. Disappointed in myself since we swam back but maybe one day I can do it again! --Fourth Snorkel was my absolute favorite! We went to the lagoon which was a mixture of cenote which is the fresh and salt water from the beach. Some shallow areas that I can deal with and they had the salt water fishes swimming around. Lunch was also included in this tour. Choose whichever tacos you choose from when you sign up for the tour, Mayan pulled pork, chicken, or vegetarian option. Javier guided me through everything after I had my freak out at the beach. Very nice of him! This was definitely worth the price! read more

I would give 10 stars if I could! This tour company is simply amazing and easily the best in Tulum! They made my 30th birthday one that I will always cherish and never forget! For $200 per person, my friends and I were able to snorkel at 3 locations (with sea turtles) zip line, and ride ATVs through the jungle. They partner with a company, Selva Maya, that helps with the zip lining and rock climbing. They are amazing as well. I told them I was celebrating my birthday ahead of time and while we were having lunch, they brought out a delicious birthday cake for me; how thoughtful and sweet. Booked a private tour for 4 with Edventure Tours. For roughly $160 USD PP (plus $70 for a private shuttle and tour guide), you get zip-lining, entry to the Mayan Ruins, ATV transportation, access to sea turtles, and snorkeling in the Cenotes. Our tour guide Josse was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about the activities and took some amazing video and photo footage of our group. We also had additional assistance for some of the activities like zip-lining and snorkeling (shout out to Luis). If you decide to book Edventure, I highly recommend going private. This was our 2nd time touring with Edventures. Extreme Adventure is the tour we took. Worth the $70 to go private. These excursions are not offered on your resorts, the commission is just too high. You will find that Edventures offers more, they are more affordable and they are just so down to earth friendly. It's not just their job, this is their life. DANNY IS AMAZING! Our kids love him! He helped (both times)with flippers, swim masks, wet suits, snacks, helped them rinse off sand and wash out their shoes. Made sure we had drinks throughout the day and reminded us to reapply sunscreen. Danny has many many stories, he's been doing this all his life, please listen to him. He's a smart man that knows a lot about this region and history. We added pictures as well and he really tries to get the best pictures! Just pose for him! He's a pro! Danny drove us 4 miles into the jungle on a rough rock path, in a Polaris, he's a great driver. Perfect every time! The 2 cenotes we went through we're gorgeous and we had plenty of time to explore and learn about the formations of these natural freshwater cenotes. The first one we were able to jump into from a dock like structure. Very cool. We took a break to eat true Mayan pork and chicken tacos, on homemade corn tortillas washed down with icy cold water. We went on to rock climb and repelled. Then we were off to the ocean to swim with sea turtles. There are laws implemented now and your guide must have a permit. Please follow the guides instructions and do not touch the sea life or go into the protected area. If we want to keep this special experience legal, we must all follow the laws here. I think we saw a total of 6 sea turtles. Just breathtaking! We were also lucky enough to see an Eagle Ray, Stingray and a few squid! We finished off the day in a lagoon, because of the recent rains, there was a lot of mixing of sea water and fresh water. He lead the way through the waters and path through rock formations and rooted areas. We will see Danny in 2 years to swim with whale sharks! Be sure to tip the driver as well as your guide. They are truly all wonderful and you're using a family owned and operated business instead of a huge tourist trap. (Sorry, there may be good ones, but these large companies only care about the dollars) I'll leave reviews for the locations we visited, but I really do want to let tourists know this. You MUST use biodegradable reef safe sunscreen. Regular sunscreen is deteriorating the natural habitats of our water friends. read more

I was so excited about this tour and the only thing I enjoyed was walking through tulum. It was a long ride from Cancun and back but the company shuttle picked everyone up from their hotels which was super convenient. We didn't have a great tour guy throughout the adventure stuff. Abel rushed us through the snorkeling caves and didn't make it fun at all. Almost as if he hated his job. But having a fun tour guide changes the whole experience. The ATV was cool but before signing he made it a point to get the insurance because "people crash all the time." Why would you tell us that??? A couple in the group with us backed out after he said that. It was weird. We were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico this past week for Brandi Carlile's Girls Just Wanna Weekend. My friend and I wanted to do an excursion. The event company putting on the festival and the resort had several excursions available for guests but none of them really fit our schedule. I had heard about Edventure Tours by word of mouth from past festival attendees. We gave them a call and they were far more flexible, they had a lot of options, and the prices are very reasonable. We decided on Coba Express because we had limited time. It was perfect. Moses was our tour guide. You really couldn't ask for a better guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, and has a great personality. People around us who came without a guide were standing near us so they could hear what he was saying. It was the best day of my vacation 16 years ago so I decided to do it again this year. This time was even better! I had messed up our reservation and had booked it for the following week. My friend and I were waiting for 20 min at the hotel and then when I called Eddie and realized my mistake and was so bummed, he made a few calls and then got back to me and said they would make it work for that day. Yay! We had an amazing time. It was so nice to not be part of a huge tour or go to busy places. It felt like we had Mexico to ourselves! We did the Coba ruins and bike ride, zipline, rock climb and rapel, ATV, and 2 cenotes. The lunch was amazing and we are food snobs! All of the staff was friendly and helpful. They answered our endless questions, joked around with us, helped us practice our Spanish, and took great pictures so we could concentrate on the experience and not our cameras. Not only was our tour with Edventure Tours fantastic, they also went above and beyond when I left an irreplaceable coat in the bus terminal of Tulum. I was trying to call anyone that I could possibly reach in Tulum as we zoomed away towards the airport, and one of the drivers from the company actually went to the terminal and talked to the office for me, organizing for the next bus to the airport to transport my coat to me. To be real, if I had to pick between cross stitching a pillow and sky diving, I'd probably pick cross stitching. I am not and have never been much of an outdoors girl...which is why I was so surprised that I had a great time at Edventure Tours! Our day long tour included an ATV Jungle Ride, Ziplining, Snorkeling, as well as some light Rock Climbing and Rapelling. All of this cost us $130 which is pretty low considering how much we got to do in such a short period of time. A few things to note: + Tour guides are English speaking and are extremely friendly, funny and helpful. I'm not the best swimmer so they made sure to keep a special eye on me so I didn't float off on a turtle somewhere. + Unlike other tours they are extremely ecologically conscious + Their lunch time jungle tacos were seriously the best tacos I've had in my life + If you are claustrophobic the underground cave snorkeling may be a little bit too much for you! I never considered myself claustrophobic but ended up having a minor freak attack right there in the water. It's super dark in there! + Bring your own snorkel and fins if you have them! Their equipment and life jacket were not the most up-to-date and I felt like it hindered me from enjoying the experience fully since I was a bit worried about not dying (also probably the reason why I freaked out in the cave). I've been on several snorkeling trips around the world and this is the only time I had trouble with the equipment. Besides that, I highly recommend this company! I couldn't ask for a better and more fun excursion. We started at the 85+acres area ATVing thru the jungle, then stopped for ziplining. For beginners this is perfect-not scary at all and the staff keeps you feeling safe and secure. Next, some of us rock climbed a wall and repelled down it by a Cenote in a cave. Again, I am a beginner, but the cave Cenote was not scary at all and was fun to explore. Then we headed to a second Cenote that was refreshing and open. Lastly, we took went to a beach to swim with the turtles! This adventure, gave us enough time at each place. The staff, Mike, Cesar, Omar and many more I can't think of at the top of my head were superb. The lunch was the best I had in Cancun and all Gluten Free, which my Celiac daughter was super happy. We booked this excursion a week in advance and the company was in contact with us almost daily to insure that we had everything we needed for a great time. The check in/pick up was smooth, quick, and easy and then we were off for an AMAZING excursion. Crazy Mike was our guide and he was definitely not crazy in a bad way. He was extremely informative and showed us the ins and outs of cenotes - they were BREATHTAKING!! Mike kept everything fun and exciting, a perfect balance. My wife and I had booked a custom tour with Edwardo to see the Tulum ruins and snorkel Akumal. The ruins were amazing and we highly recommend getting a guide with your package. We were fortunate to have my tocayo, Nelson as our guide. Nelson was very animated and fun, mindful of his guests, quite informative, and took a lot of great pictures. In giving the Mayan histories, Nelson focused a lot on the cultural/spiritual significance of the gods portrayed at the site, the individual buildings, the overall layout of the city, and even the fauna and flora of the location. He also did a great job correlating the ruins in Tulum with other cultural sights around the world, such as Washington D.C. Muchas Gracias, again, Nelson. After the ruins we were taken to Akumal to snorkel with the sea turtles. However, this did not go as planned. My wife ended up getting quite ill on our way swimming to the coral reef and our guide Monica had to bring us back to the beach. Let me be clear though, this was before lunch and was in no way the fault of Edventures. The events that followed included a very attentive Monica doing all she could to help (even buying my wife a coke), Edwardo showing up to aid where he could, a very helpful lifeguard, and ambulance ride to the hospital in Tulum, and a 6+ hour hospital stay. This was where I was overwhelmed by the Edventure teams generosity and humanity. Both Monica and Edwardo followed us to the hospital and helped me in communicating with the staff. Monica stayed with me until I was able to see my wife and be by her side the remainder of the day. The other snorkel guide, forgot his name, but he was a very nice French guy, stopped over to pay us a visit at the hospital and checked to see if there was anything we needed. To top it all off, Edwardo even sent a van to pick us up when the whole ordeal was done. The driver not only brought us back to our hotel, twenty-five miles away, but even stopped at a pharmacy so we could pick up a prescription. Edwardo and his wife even gave us a call that night to make check in on my wife. Now, I know this isn't the type of tour most have in mind when booking, we certainly didn't. However, Edwardo and his team are definitely a class act and take the role of hospitality to it's peak. If we are in the market for a tour again in the Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen area, I would not hesitate to book it with Edventures. Again, thank you so much Edwardo and wife, Monica, Nelson, the French guide, and our Driver. We had the opportunity to book 2 tours with Edventure in early February on our trip to Mexico and were not disappointed. First we did the Ek Balam tour with our driver Fernando and guide Balam. This was fantastic. Fernando was great and funny and Balam was a treasure trove of information about the culture and history of the Mayans and the importance of Ek Balam. This is not as popular as the other well known sites which is why we picked it. Not many people at all and we may have overstayed our allotted time but was not a problem at all. The fellas took us next to Valladolid for a tasty lunch with Balams help ordering and a dip in the cenote. He twisted our arms and a couple of us took the knee knocking jump off the ledge into the water. Long trip to and from but great day. Our next tour was the snorkeling trip with once again Fernando (yeah) and Javier and Louis as our guides. Miles into the jungle to two cenotes and a jungle lunch. You have to do this I won't give it away but you will never forget it! Finally to Yal-ku lagoon which was right out of a travel picture book. If we were in better snorkeling shape we could have stayed all day (it is very easy and at your own pace but we are not getting younger). Millions of fish of all types and lots of pelicans that sit on the little islands and wait for you to stir up the living floor of sardines then dive bomb them right next to you. Can't thank Javier and Louis enough for the wonderful day and a very nice usb card of pictures we received at the end of the day for a reasonable price compared to the big tour companies you see at your resorts and in all the flyers everywhere. Again it was well worth the money and very personable with in our case not a crowded bus. Cannot recommend this company enough give them a call or email as they are very easy to deal with as well.
