Breast Implant Removal with Dr Karen Leong at Face N Body Upland: I had my breast implants removed one month ago by Dr Karen Leong. I was recommended by a coworker who had the same procedure done earlier this year with great results. My experience was AMAZING from my first consultation visit through the entire process. The staff at the front desk Amanda, Audrey, and Lisa are very welcoming, sweet, and knowledgeable about any questions you may have. Dr Leong is personable, attentive, and thorough which I think sometimes doctors lack at the beside, but not her! She is willing to answer any and all questions without hesitation. If you are looking into breast implants removal because of "breast implant illness/BII" she is open minded about the new research coming out. I am a nurse myself, so I have been intrigued by so many women's symptoms but awaiting clear researched backed evidence. She takes a similar stance, and overall if you are worried and want them out she will help you without judgment or making you feel like it's "in your head". That being said I was not sick, but had some vague symptoms, capsular contracture, and after 16 years I wanted them removed, not replaced, and without a lift. She heard all of my concerns and was supportive and up to the task. Surgery day was a success! Nurse Monique, the OR team (didn't get their names because I was so nervous and then asleep) and the anesthesiologist Dr Melisa Erick were all beyond good to me, and I am so thankful for their expertise and calming demeanors. Follow-up the day after surgery and throughout recovery I felt closely monitored and cared for. Suture and drain removal were done by nurse Monique and Jennifer and they were caring, professional, skillful, and personable. Overall I really could not be more pleased with my care and results. Dr Leong is a very meticulous surgeon and she was able to remove my entire capsules and provide photos of the capsules and implants which I requested. My results are fantastic and my new (old) breasts look amazing. As I mentioned, I am a nurse, I know many doctors and I can assure you she is top notch! This whole process has been a pleasure and I am so thankful to each and every person at Face N Body who helped me through my journey. You will not be disappointed in your care or procedure if you choose Dr Leong and her staff. Side note: My implants were done in 2003 by a prominent Beverly Hills surgeon who has since passed. I had a consultation in Beverly Hills for removal first since that's what I knew, but I received better care at Face N Body without the drive, inflated cost, and attitude that sometimes comes with the 90210 zip code. I am 20 years old and had a breast augmentation May 2nd, 2018 and everything went so smooth! From the consultation which Amanda was so helpful!! And also the pre-op where I took my before pictures and talked to a nurse about medication I would need and also how long the surgery would be. On May 2nd my appointment was at 11, got there at 10:50 and was on my way to my surgery which is the building right across. Being 20 years old, i was determined to get my breasts done but I got really nervous as soon as i changed into my scrubs and got my I .V in. I felt like I was going to faint (dramatic I know) but the nurse understood how patients can get that way. She laid me back for a while and told me to tell her when I 'm ready. A few minutes passed and I was ready to go. They took me to the OR room and laid me down and went over again what they were going to be doing. The anesthesiologist then came in, asked if I was ready and then put an oxygen mask over me while she told me she was going to inject the anesthesia. All i remember before passing out was asking if I was going to wear the oxygen mask the whole time (no) haha. I woke up and only felt a great amount of pressure, but staff was so gentle and patient with me! Love Dr. Parks work! Horrible Time Management! I scheduled a consultation at 11:30am (during an extended lunch break) which was supposed to be 30 min in length. I arrived at the office at 11:15 and sat and waited. At 11:40 I spoke to the front office girl to ask if Dr. Park was behind. She informed me that they were just waiting for a room to open. I proceeded to wait until 12. She again informed me that they were waiting for a room. I asked how long for a room and was told another 15 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I could not wait another 15 minutes as I had to return to work for a 1pm meeting. Honestly, this was not an issue for the young lady. It seemed that she could careless if I kept the appointment or not. Customer service is poor. Appointment had to be cancelled. Other offices were on time with my consultations and I know the time slot belonged to me. This felt more like a medical dr office where the physician is ALWAYS behind schedule. It's been 5 years since I had my lower face lift. The surgery did not work, even Dr Park said that at the time. He did offer to redo but said I would have to pay $2000 for the sx cost, I didn't feel like I should have to pay anything since the original cost was $8500 just for lower lift. I chose Dr. Edward H. Park - a double Board Certified PS and partner of Dr. Sorosky who retired eight years previously. He listened carefully to my concerns and answered my kazillion questions about the safety and efficacy of a 2nd facelift. I also asked about a brow lift to balance my freakish eyelids left mismatched from a ptosis surgery on my left eye traumatized by detached retina surgeries 5 years previous. He made me feel confident by explaining I did not need a brow lift and it would be a waste of money. He then took almost an hour to explain how he would do a necklift for my loose platysmal bands - plication and imbication of my mid face and cheeks - and VERY minor upper lid revision with minor transconjunctival lower bag mod to make the eyes more youthful and less tired and dragged down with a Mixto ( fractional laser) underneath to rebuild collagen and minimize fine wrinkles. Despite my being fair and freckledI I have always felt like I had a long 'horsey' face with a soft baggy lumpy appearance. My Welsh Swedish roots seemed to condemn me to early aging and dragged out appearance. I really appreciated his customization to my particular facial shape - long and confidence in my thick healthy skin. I have never smoked and have used sunscreen for over 40 years. Dr. Park did not pressure me and was very confident that he could give me a result that would rejuvenate my appearance. He had guessed my age as mid fifties but upon learning I was 67 said he was sure I would get results to enhance my inner beauty to match my youthful energy.
