DO NOT buy from here. I ordered a flower arrangement on their website to be delivered next day. Have a receipt and all. Never received confirmation of delivery so I called them and they say "the ticket was never printed" so there was "nothing they could do" and they would not be able to deliver the flowers that day. The woman (Kathy) told me I would be receiving a refund, so I ordered same day delivery from a different company. All of a sudden, 3 days later, I guess they conveniently "found the ticket" so tried to deliver the order (no one was home to accept them because these flowers were for a funeral that is now over and everyone had already left to go back home). Now, I am being told I will not be getting a refund. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. Shame on them read more

This is for the 180 boston ave store. Mr Dillon is a liar and cheater and a completely unprofessional businessman. Do not place an order from Edward J Dillon and Sons Florist unless you want a headache. We ordered our wedding reception centerpieces for August 30, 2019, through him. He was difficult and insisted we give him the whole money amount 2 weeks before. $1735. We had to cancel the wedding last minute, so I called him 3 days before to see if he could work with us and we could at least recoup the labor and delivery portion of charges. He refused to talk to me for 24 hours. Then said he would refund nothing, nada. He claimed he made the arrangements 3.5 days earlier... Maybe that's why they were dead on arrival? So the flowers were delivered to my home on the contracted wedding date. But the wrong color roses and at least two dead/wilted hydrangea in every vase! Dead flowers for a wedding! And incorrect colors?! And part of the order was missing, five small arrangements and the philadendron fronds that we paid extra for. When I called him that afternoon to tell him he must refund for the missing part of the order, and some of the flowers were dead, he slammed down the phone on me after saying, "you'll get nothing". His driver tried delivering the missing part of the order the next day. Lol. A day late! In other words, after the should have been wedding day! I refused those flowers, of course. Mr. Dillon owes me a refund and has been impossible to work with. But I am trying through consumer protection and will take it to small claims if I have to. We ordered an arrangement from Edward J. Dillon & Sons on 12/26/16. My husband said that the woman he spoke with argued with him about the prices, because we were guided by the photos seen on the web site. She insisted their arrangements started at $75.00 and up, and when he told her that was NOT what was advertised, she was difficult. In spite of this, my husband went ahead and ordered an arrangement that totaled $77.55 including a $10.00 delivery fee from Stratford to Trumbull. So tonight, when we walked into the wake this evening, we were both MORTIFIED at the floral arrangement. The arrangement, which was shown on their web site, had various flowers including gladiolas and other pastel blossoms. What was there, instead, was a sloppily arranged molded cardboard container with only yellow and purple chrysanthemums which were horrible and unevenly spaced, gaping holes in the arrangement and had ugly green fronds which looked like it had been arranged by a 5 year old. We are NOT HAPPY! Once you order something in good faith, the rest is up to the retailer. In this case, Dillon let us down. AVOID! Tonight we learned a good lesson. We will NEVER order from Dillon again. We were told by a trustworthy source that Rose Florist of Bridgeport was a lot better. Next time! read more

I ordered a funeral basket to honor a friend's loved one. At the wake I didn't notice our flowers, which was confirmed by the funeral home. The next day I called and Dillon's was able to admit they delivered the basket to the wrong funeral home. They did send flowers to my friend's home very quickly, but I was embarrassed as I wanted to pay my respects to the entire family. I will not use this florist again. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I did business with this guy. If I could give a zero star I would! Any vendor that would take back product that has been paid for in full is pretty much a criminal in my book, and that is exactly what Dillon Florist did. I paid thousands of dollars for wedding flowers which included 16 centerpieces for my daughter's wedding. The morning after the wedding I went back to the venue to get the centerpieces and they were all missing. They had been picked up by Dillon's driver and taken back to his place of business. When I discovered what had happened and ask why he had done that. Mr. Dillon said that I should have called him earlier because he took them back on Sunday and this was Monday, and they were destroyed in transport so he threw them all away! It took me a day to finally realize he had the flowers!! I am still astounded that he felt that he could just help himself to flowers that did not belong to him and then decide to throw them all away! I didn't believe him for a second. His act was intentional and he basically blamed me for not being quick enough to get them back. He also mysteriously found three of the arrangements in tact and sent one to me, my daughter and her new mother-in-law. Is that supposed to be compensation for taking back what I paid for? He has no integrity, but he may have a guilty conscience which I hope haunts him into doing the right thing and reimbursing me for what he so arrogantly took without permission and has most likely repurposed. He is a cagey crook. Stay away. read more

I was extremely happy with the customer service and truely understand why my friends and former co-workers always purchased flowers from this florist. We usually use them regularly if and when I need a florist. Someone above said "they don't listen". And "he" doesn't. I understand they've been doing this for years ... and know what they're doing, but sometimes you want it your way, and NOT theirs! I wish I could add a picture to this, because I recently ordered a funeral spray pictured on their website, it was actually a standard item that was offered on all florists websites. OMG! I was so embarrassed! It looked nothing like what I ordered. The picture on the site was primarily carnations with a few different flowers. Full, and beautiful! Mine was ONLY carnations, with great amounts of space in between! I mean c'mon, the cheapest flower out there and they couldn't even make it full. They should be ashamed! If I ever go to Dillons again, it will be the new one in Milford, where the son branched out on his own. I know for a fact that he does phenomenal work, and probably would have never delivered something so scarce! read more

My sister in law sent a thanksgiving centerpiece tio us. It was not what she ordered, instead a much inferior piece. When she called they were very gruff and rude and said they did not have what she ordered and were very busy. They said they would send something else the day after thanksgiving but never bothered. They took her money though, Shamful way to do business! read more

Do not trust this florist to deliver to the location you specify. I requested delivery to a Stratford funeral home. Instead this florist decided that a good business practice is to be sneaky with customers. They did not deliver to the funeral home. They did not phone me and say they were not going to deliver to the funeral home. Instead, they went out of their way and, in effect, delivered my floral arrangement to a dumpster--it was, actually, the home of the family. In return for such an underhanded business practice I, basically, lost $90. read more

Unbelievably rude merchant. I just called to discuss why the arrangement I ordered online wasn't anything like what was received. I ordered a basket with a plant arrangement which was under funeral/ sympathy. What was delivered was a pot that looked like a bunt pan with some plants thrown together and some RED carnations stuck in the mix. RED for sympathy? I spoke to Mr. Dillon, himself, who yelled at me and hung- up. Wish I would have researched Yelp before using this florist. read more

,I recently received an arrangement from Dillon a terrarium,it was left on my front porch in the snow, just the glass bowl sitting on my front porch in the snow flurries ???? funny thing was my phone # was on the card you couldn't have called ? not to mention it was the worst looking arrangement I have ever seen! Long story short I called to complain that it was left in the snow the person on the phone was very nasty to me,he was relaying what i said to the owner who was I guess in the office with him,they offered me a new arrangement, but were so nasty to me that I declined and told the worker that I wanted nothing to do with there establishment ,and I would be writing a review about there un- professionalism, 5 min later the OWNER CALLS ME and says and I Quote...
