Prom parents beware. Very disappointing. Extortion pricing for the quality and deceptive practices. A boutonnierre was cheaply put together with baby's breath instead of the freesia in the picture on the online order. And then, my daughter came home with a costly wristlet that was missing freesia and eucalyptus and was mainly cheap ribbon - again a much lower quality than the online picture. WOW! What a beautiful and unique floral arrangement! I ordered the Teleflora Rhapsody in Purple standard bouquet ($99.95) for my auntie. I splurged a little because I really really liked the purple flowers, and I knew she loves purple. I also added on a small box of premium chocolates for $9.95. With the local delivery fee of $9.95, the grand total was $127.46. They delivered early in the day and my aunt excitedly called me later to tell me how gorgeous the arrangement was. I was very pleased to see pictures, they look even more amazing than what is pictured on their website. The description of the arrangement: "A rhapsody of beauty is on stunning display in this arrangement. Gorgeous blossoms are beautifully arranged and delivered in a divine Couture Vase. Visited this business and got quoted by Kerry on an order for flowers. Came back a couple months later to order them and was told they were going to be more than double $$. Showed Kerry the original quote and she then said "if that's what I said, I'll honor it." So, I ordered them and told her I'll pick them up a certain day and time. A few days prior, I called to confirm we were still on for that day and was told they were never ordered. I was put in touch with the owner who contradicted 3 things: the order was never placed because I never said to (even though I told Kerry on X date and X time I'll be there to pick them up), the price is more than double $$, and they weren't ordered because a deposit wasn't received. Told the owner I was never even asked for it. Took my business elsewhere for the trouble. read more

This is a local florist that recently changed ownership (Nov. 2016) but has been here on New Haven Ave. for many years. The Beachwood always provided creative arrangements and stand behind their product. During the holidays we always send out arrangements to our family in far away places and the Beachwood always contracted with other local florists to provide the best flower arrangements. Recently I ordered an arrangement for a local delivery and the cost was less than $10 which I thought was fair. The shop does not have as many gifts as the previous owner had so maybe its just the start up and a focus on flowers rather than other gifts too. I will be back soon. read more

The person that took my order was very nice! I told her that it was going to be a very tiny Funeral and that I wanted to order a spray of flowers and take them home and make separate arrangements with them. She said she would have them delivered to the Funeral home late in the day on Wednesday for the funeral on Thursday. They were delivered on Wednesday at 11am! Also there was supposed to be a card and I never received it! I brought the flowers home the day of the Funeral and they were already dying! I called to let them know I was disappointed that they didn't even last 24 hours. The owner who I spoke to was not nice at all! I wasn't looking for anything! Just wanted them to know that they didn't last a day! Her response was we are the best florist around and of course they didn't last! They are not meant to last! If I had know that when I ordered them I would have gotten something else! They just lost my future business and I will not be referring them. I have been using beachwood for at least 15 years. I got flowers for my wedding there and they have always been no less than spectacular. I just ordered flowers for my admin and they were beautiful I spent 50 on that arrangement. I just picked up the flowers I ordered in advance for Mother's Day. I have always picked florist choice and I asked for 3 arrangements for $70 each one pink and white one blue and white and one purple and white. The arrangements didn't meet the colors I asked for - which had never happened to me here and they looked inexpensive and were smaller than the $50 arrangement i. gave my admin. . I have never been so disappointed with the quality of what I got there. The woman there just said it was the best they could do - my mom likes blue - I saw all sorts of hydrangeas on the way in. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU DO BUSINESS WITH BEACHWOOD FLORIST. One star is too many for this florist. I have never seen this level of incompetence before. We met with Kerry on a Monday to select flowers for my father-in-law's internment that Wednesday. Over the next forty-five minutes my wife went into great detail over exactly what flowers she wanted. We confirmed that Kerry understood the date and location of the interment and paid her in full. Two days later we arrived at the grave site for the interment -- there were no flowers!!   The funeral director called Beachwood. They denied that 1) we had ever placed an order and 2) that we had ever paid. When they were pressed on the issue they admitted that we had ordered and paid for flowers but that they had written down the wrong time to deliver them. This is taking place literally minutes before the ceremony was going to take place. They told the funeral director that there was no way that they would deliver the flowers then but that they would get them there later that day. Several hours later, after the ceremony was over and everyone has left they delivered the flowers to the funeral home. The pain that Beachwood Florist caused our family is very real. I have been buying flowers from Beachwood for 17 years. My wife and I have a tradition. I buy her the the same rust-colored Leonidas rose each year for our anniversary because it was the rose she had in her wedding bouquet. And so it reminds her of our wedding day. I called a week in advance to order them and was told that they could get them. But when I came to pick them up, I discovered that they were fuchsia in color. I asked the clerk why. She was apologetic, and offered to replace them with a different flower that was closer in color (not even close). But also said that she couldn't give me a discount because they were already priced low (I didn't ask for a discount). She explained that there was nothing else that could be done because "that's the way they came to us from the supplier. Sometimes colors vary". In 26 years of buying my wife Leonidas, I have never been given fuchsia colored roses. I expressed that I was unhappy and wanted a call from the owner. I still bought the roses since I did not want to go to my anniversary empty handed. After a week, I received no call. So I emailed my complaint. The owner did call me the same day I emailed. But instead of leading with an apology, she started litigating her stores position and that, in her opinion the rose color was close enough, and that if I didn't like them, I could have just gotten a refund and left them behind. Not exactly a warm response. No apology. No expression of gratitude for my 17 years of patronage. Just a confrontation that left me feeling like she thought I was the problem, not her product or service. I understand things don't always go right. But had she handled this differently and expressed even an ounce of concern, I would have thanked her for the response and continued using and recommending her store. Ordered a $100 bouquet that was so skimpy when I picked it up, luckily the staff added to it only because I made a comment, but only added greenery which was the cheapest way to do it. I called Beechwood Florist in Milford, CT to handle the floral basket for my Father-In-Laws funeral. I gave very specific directions as to what I wanted. I was given a quote ($175) and had no problem because I was assured that they were going to do a great job on these flowers. The flowers we were greeted with in the Church were wilted and the EXACT opposite of anything I would have ordered. Actually they looked like leftovers from a funeral a few days prior. Beechwood Florist cares so little about their reputation and their customers they have not responded to my email written five days ago. If you are in Milford, CT and need flowers my opinion from a hideous experience is to not use this florist. I wouldn't want anyone else to be this horrified. I received an arrangement on April 17 as a result of an accident. The arrangement was gorgeous with Gerber daisies, iris, spider mums, roses and other spring fares. the bouquet lasted for 3 weeks. Each week I sent a photo of it to the group who sent it to me so they could see that they made a great choice in choosing Beachwood. We changed the water every 2 or 3 days and pulled out dying flowers and keep enjoying the remaining bouquet. This is my go to florist read more

Beachwood has long been a staple in Milford. Many other florists have come and gone - mostly because they think "modern" is always the way to go, when really "modern" means "pricey." I've been using Beachwood for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed by anything. From prom flowers, arrangements for the holidays, to even my own wedding flowers and centerpieces - everything has always been exceptional. The designers there are talented and know how to put things together for any budget. The cut flowers are always fresh and the selection is nice regardless of the time of year. You're not apt to find wild flowers here, but they'll carry all the standard favorites like roses, lilies, gerbera daisies, alstromeria, and others. More importantly, unlike grocery store and gas station places, your flowers will actually last! They also do wire outs all over the US and you can order online too. Can't go wrong! read more

I have been a long time customer of Beechwood florist. The place is not the same with the new owners. There is no value anymore. I was very underwhelmed with the arrangement they made me. I bought $130 worth of flowers and got what looked a $60 arrangement. Also, this is a florist, why are they not trimming, weeding and taking care of the landscAping in front of the building. When the driver left in their van he attempted to turn around in my driveway which there was no need too as I have a normal driveway which he drove into. My driveway is too narrow to turn around in but he kept trying all the while driving into and over my stone retaining wall. I was screaming for him to stop as he would damage my retaining wall but he didn't. What a disgraceful act to commit on someone's property. There was no damage otherwise I would have called the police. I would never ever use Beachwood Florist as they have zero respect for customers. Great florist in Milford. You can't miss them on New Haven Ave, they always have fun decorations up outside to recognize the current holiday. Not only is it fun to drive by but they also sell great flowers. I originally discovered them when I bought flowers off of Teleflora but I've gone to the store directly to buy a bouquet as well. It looks like they sell directly through their website now too. The flowers are always in excellent shape and last for a good amount of time. Not only did she take the time to figure out all the details for me (5 minutes before closing and didn't rush me at all), she also found the address of the home as well. IT WAS THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I ORDERED FLOWERS FROM THIS PLACE! I ordered an arrangement that looked very nice on their website (for $77, not the cheapest one). When I got there to pick it up, it was a quarter of the size shown on the pictures online. It was a TOTAL disappointment! When I commented on the size of the arrangement, I was told that they used premium flowers, that's why it cots so much. The flowers were fresh, but you can get something similar in Stop and Shop for $15. Waste of money!
