Hansens flower shop is amazing. They have a cooler dedicated for pre made vase arrangements and a fresh loose cut flowers to make a custom arrangement. Brit who helped me really went out of her way to ensure she understood what the occasion was for and colors/flower preferences when putting together my arrangement. The arrangement is based on your budget so if you found it too expensive that's probably because you weren't vocal enough during the selection process as they truly do try to work with you if you say $50 they stick to $50. If your like me who tend to go towards expensive flowers like peonies which eat up your budget and limit how many flowers you will get; they will let you know before finalizing the arrangement so that your not stuck with something your not happy with. read more

Arrangement delivered had no roses and was obviously smaller than what was pictured. Called shop that delivered and complained. Offer to replace which they did. Numerous roses but still small. Ad clearly says arrangement will be 15.5 inches in diameter. Mine was 11 inches. Very unsatisfied. Will never use them again. Vase was as pictured. They claim expensive vase resulted in less flowers. After going to Irene's in Monroe we were referred to Hansen's. My sister-in-law and I went in and I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped us. I know we were difficult...lol...as we were VERY specific about what my mom likes and wanted both smaller and larger arrangements. The flowers were delivered to Monroe later the same day and I just can't express how pleased we were!! She captured the look we wanted beautifully and everyone asked where they came from. Awful customer service. After telling me they could deliver to the town I specified, they contracted with another florist. Each time I called to check on the status they never disclosed that they were not handling the order. When the order was not delivered they did not contact me. When I called that's when they wanted me to call the florist that they had given my order to. Outrageous! The new florist had no information to contact me. As a lifetime area resident, I've seen Hansen's quality steadily decline over the years. My mother always ordered flowers from here and I know they cost a fortune compared to area florists, and the flowers just got worse and worse. I was ultimately completely turned off by this place when I called to inquire about wedding flowers and the person on the phone asked about my wedding venue and when I told him where it was, he completely insulted it. It wasn't the fanciest place by Fairfield County standards, but it that's where it was happening. Not to mention I certainly wasn't asking his opinion on it; he knew my wedding was two months away and I clearly had the venue booked already. I felt pretty good about my decision to not use Hansen's for my wedding about 6 months afterwards when I received flowers from a friend from Hansen's and they were totally dried and dying. The staff was unfriendly, unenthusiastic, and uncomfortably terse. The bouquet I bought was beautiful, though a bit too expensive. It's a beautiful store with beautiful flowers and arrangements. When I explained why I wanted blue, yellow, green and white flowers, the employees at Hansens more than took care of me, they made a beautiful bouquet and even gave me a discount, besides making a beautiful flower arrangement, Hansens has a heart, and I really do appreciate it. I grew up in Ffld.Ct.We always used Hansons.They did the best spectacular arrangements that you could ever dream of.We moved to Az. Over the years we always used Hansons since there are lots of family there.I never used anyone else.Always sent flowers to mom on a regular basis. I had a house accent.There were never any problems.The shop was at their original location. Hansons got big and moved.Their attitude and ego got big along with it. They are more into bragging on themselves about how big they now are and special and could do special arrangements because they are so big and can do it. Recently,I was making a trip to Ct. I ordered three arrangements for Oxford(which I was told was out of town) and the fourth to Monroe.I originally wanted the roses for $39.99...ok, I was told the sister store they use could not do it for that price.It would be closer to $70. So, I opted for a floral arrangement.They said bouquet.I expected a vase and a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers in the vase.When I finally saw the two arrangements they were in paper and standing in a cup of water with the birthday balloon on the wrong arrangement. Theses flowers were no better than what you could buy at Stop and Shop.The yellow smile cup with daisies was fine but missing that birthday balloon. The Monroe arrangement "bouquet"was fine and was as expected. In a blue vase with mixed blue and white flowers. Very pretty. I called and presented my issue and discontent with the order. I spoke with Nancy who took over the conversation,was very rude and put the blame on me. I am very unhappy with Hansons.Customer service is the heart of every retail customer based business. After a lifetime of wonderful arrangements and the workers being friendly,compassionate and professional they have done a total 180.My money should have been refunded.I was totally embarrassed when I saw the two arrangements. Then, icing on the cake - I had asked that they charge my house account.I was told I didn't have a house account anymore because the accountant says small accounts aren't worth keeping.If multiple orders were not being placed every month the accounts were removed. TLDR: Good flowers/Bad service, know exactly what you want. What I liked: Overall, flowers were pretty, and I didn't spend too much. Probably a great place to go if you know exactly what you are looking for, and you want know what color schemes/types of flowers/fillers you want. They have a large variety of flowers, which are very fresh. Also, fairly minimalistic with the plastic and paper wrapping, I really like it simple there. What I didn't like: I asked for four types of flowers in the bouquet, and asked the employee to round it off with anything that wasn't a daisy or pink, ideally green, red, or white. She looked at me and honestly didn't seem to have a clue what to add. I really did not like the filler she added. (Being picky) Fairly unfriendly staff. No one actually greeted me when I walked into the store...there is really not a lot on display/to do while waiting, and since I was the only one there, I would have appreciated that. I ordered a deluxe sympathy "Peaceful White Lily Basket" from Hansen's, for a wake, when I got to the wake I was pissed off there was not one lily in the lily basket, all white flowers but not one lily - paid a ton for them was very disappointed, but what do you do at a wake. Not like I could take a picture and send to Hansens. Also the confirmation came from a Bruce's Florist, who the hell is Bruce? I used the Hansen website to order. Never again. I placed an order Friday morning on their website to be delivered on Saturday but it didn't arrive, turns out they have a call center but they can't contact the shop directly and they're closed for the weekend. I was really upset since this was a time sensitive gift. I finally got an answer from the shop on Monday when they promised me to have it delivered my Tuesday. Only today was it delivered.
