This company is HORRIBLE! A.T. Smith and Company was managing my rental property when I had my…read moreplumbing and electrical stolen from the crawl space. I specifically told A.T. Smith and Co. that I was going to file an insurance claim and get multiple bids from licensed professionals. They didn't listen to me and sent in their own maintenance person to start the repairs. This person never filed the proper permits to do the work; the work was shoddy and not done to code. After I verified my multiple text messages and emails stating that I was going to hire licensed professionals, approved by my insurance adjuster, A.T. Smith turned around and billed me for the work that their incompetent maintenance person did. In addition to the plumbing and the electrical wiring being stolen, the interior of the house was extensively damaged and was recorded and noted by A.T. Smith. This repair work should have been covered by the rental deposit; but A.T. Smith refunded the renters the entire deposit back. After these two events, I notified A.T. Smith that I was NOT going to renew their services again, but they charged me a rental lease renewal fee anyway. I have sent detailed emails that included pictures and text chain messages outlining the unapproved maintenance work, the billing of said work, and the horrible decision to refund the security deposit money. I also should not have been charged with a lease renewal fee when I stated there was NO WAY I would ever use their services again. These emails were sent to several people within the company, and even the president of A.T. Smith; but to date, I have yet to hear back from anyone. I would highly suggest NOT ever using A.T. Smith. I have never dealt with a company who refuses to communicate with a client in a civil manner when I simply tried to reach out to them for information, answers, and guidance. Save your money, time, and stress. A.T. Smith and Company is terrible, and dishonest; you'll want to steer clear of them.
