I seen the refuse but you have to realize when you buy a used car without warranty that's what you get if you want a good worry free car you have to buy a new one and I bought a lot of new ones and I'm very happy with the used one that I got there. I would give less than one star, were it available. I'm nearly 80 years old & thought I was dealing with a reputable company. My car was purchased for me because I could not make the trip. It is a nice looking 2012 Chevrolet Traverse that is an absolute piece of junk. It was bought the third week of December and I've already spent over $1000 on repairs and will be spending close to another $3000 for half-a dozen other repairs so that I am comfortable driving it outside of town. In other words, I bought a $5000 vehicle that I will be putting, at a minimum, over $4000 into for repairs--and I will still have a $5000 vehicle. I will never do business with these people again. Update: AVOID Edwards Bargain Center Be Aware that their AS IS statements are predatory. We knew there would be repairs, spent $2k replacing shocks, stabilizers, and a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing ended up being so bad that we were referred to a different auto body shop to look into a welding repair for the extensive rust damage deep under the car. (First repair shop vented wishing that there were better lemon laws because we were SOLD A LEMON.) Unfortunately, The second shop said that the vehicle is NON-salvageable and the only recommendation they had was to try to trade it in. I am so beyond frustrated with my experience with Edwards Bargain Center that am I telling everyone I know to AVOID EDWARDS BARGAIN CENTER LIKE THE PLAGUE. I confirmed by email with two different Internet Salespeople the car I wanted to look at. I also let them know I had to rent a car to get there. I live two hours away. Upon arriving a rather rude salesperson said to go inside and he took my name and phone number. Then he left to presumably got get the minivan. He came back and said that that minivan does not even run BUT he has a newer one that I could check out. The newer one is not a good year for that particular minivan. We got up and left. Bait and switch is what I think happened to me there. How does an appointment for one specific vehicle get made and confirmed more than once? The waste of my time and money was NOT appreciated, nor did they care! Never go there and think you will get what the ads show you! Totally disappointed! To start off, I had multiple text and email communications with a supposed manager about the car I wanted to see. I made an appointment. They made a point to confirm the appointment because they were setting aside time for me. Upon arriving, we were taken to a desk with a salesperson wherein it became obvious (and we overheard) that they could not locate the car. Our sales rep made it abundantly clear it was our fault for coming to see a car that was not ready (even though we had an appointment and were told it was). In addition, I would chime in with most of the other reviews insofar as they do not inspect or check their vehicles at all before selling them. We were unaware this was their policy. Upon seeing the writing literally on the wall, I asked if that was true for all of the cars. Our sales person became very annoyed and ultimately became very disrespectful and rude because we were asking questions. We ultimately walked out. One of the managers did follow us out to the car and try to smooth things over but the sales person we had to deal with was completely unprofessional, rude, and very disrespectful. SUCH SCAMMERS!!! These guys will make you think you are getting a good deal and it's the complete opposite. Traded in a car August 4th, 2008 Chevy Tahoe for a 2012 Jeep Patriot. We needed a smaller car to save gas, what a BAD MISTAKE. Never did they mention that the TITLE WAS SALVAGED!! Car broke down and died within 24 HOURS OF GETTING THE CAR. Went back today and the manager was rude and tried to say it "wasn't his fault" but tried to charge us $300 for a detail they did. Took us almost 20 minutes to get our car back. DON'T TRADE OR BUY THE CARS HERE. They say they don't "mechanically check the cars" but told us that worked needed to be done on our Chevy Tahoe that had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER!!! Day 1: 5 Stars! Met with salesman Jason and he had the car I was interested in already pulled up front and ready for a test drive. He was awesome, friendly, informative, and explained how the bargain center worked. Excellent overall experience. It's a 30-minute drive for me to get there, and he was ready. It was raining so hard the potential for hydroplaning was real, I decided to wait until the weather got better before I drove a strange car in limited visibility from Council Bluffs to Waterloo (Elkhorn) where my trusted mechanic shop is located. Day 2: 0 Stars! Next day I call to arrange to take the vehicle to my mechanic for a pre-sale inspection. Jason was off work, and kindly volunteered to call "Bart" to have things ready when I arrived so I would be able to make the appointment time scheduled with the mechanic. When I arrived, Bart was busy with another customer, and the car was not ready. No one was sure where the keys were, where the car was, it took a bit. Finally, they were ready. Another salesman brought the car up and left it running. I went out to take it, but he needed a copy of my license. Of course, no worries. But, he didn't know how to use the machine and was trying to fax. Someone tried to help him. Another salesman came over and told me this wasn't how this works, first I need to test drive the car, then set something up. Had to explain. The first guy with the car key returns and asks for my insurance card. I don't have it on me, but might be in my Jeep. I search, but literally, had JUST picked up my Jeep from getting a new clutch. It was in service station for about a week, so I had removed the garage door opener, and pretty much every personal item from the car and having just picked it up, nothing was inside. I went back inside the building and since my guy was nowhere around, I asked the saleman behind the desk if he could just call my agent and have them give him the info or fax whatever is needed, I'm starting to run out of time. He directed me to discuss with my saleman, I said he's off today, so they lead me to the back of the store and pull out a chair for me to "sit". I don't want to sit, I have an appointment scheduled for the car to be inspected and I need to get this all handled so I can be punctual. The salesman with the key returned and I told him the insurance card wasn't in the vehicle but..... and was interrupted with "well, then ain't gonna let you drive that car without it". OK.... BYE! Almost 3 hours of my old life WASTED here. I'm that rare customer looking specifically and only for a manual transmission car, and I finally found one, but not here. They had a for-sure sale and a customer that didn't even need financing approval. Unfortunately, their cars head to auction after 60 days, so I don't think they actually care. I think the original salesman Jason was lovely, responsive, and I have a feeling everything would have gone perfectly had he been there that day. I certainly did not get any "warm fuzzies" from anyone else the next day. In general when buying used cars, let me offer a small bit of advice: Used cars, legally speaking, are almost always sold AS-IS. Make sure that you have a great mechanic that will inspect the vehicle for you before you finalize a purchase. Although it's no guarantee, knowing up front what your potential maintenance or fixes are going to cost, you may be able to negotiate the price, and you might be able to budget to take care of those anticipated needs. It might be the best $50 bucks you'll ever spend, and can save you a real headache being broke down. read more

I have bought three or four vehicles from Edwards before. Never once have I had an issue, until I went to go purchase my last vehicle. Which is the ONLY reason I am giving them a 2 star rating. What started out as an another great experience with the sales man and the finance department, has turned into THE BIGGEST hassle and headache. First it was me having to come back 2-3 times to sign or resign paperwork. Chase down my title and plates and finding out they had to back date the credit report they ran because they didn't have their paperwork in order. All causing me to have to leave work early or be a few minutes late to my job. The second big issue was when they had my car for about a week to fix the bumper and under carriage. They ordered and put a new bumper on but left the under carriage zip tied and just screwed broken pieces back to the car. It was also missing pieces off the front bumper. When I talked to the general manager Ed, he said his mechanics would never do such a thing and had the order numbers stating they ordered parts. After reviewing pictures they had received I got a call back from the service department informing me the other parts have been ordered and I can bring my car back and wait for an hour or so for my car. All causing me to miss more work due to their hours of operation and my work schedule. It has been over a month since I've purchased this car and I'm still getting the run around. I have had to drive hours out of my way, take time from work multiply times, and have gotten NO WHERE!! I would not recommend anybody purchasing anything from ANY of their lots. We drove over an hour to get there only to be told the car we were interested in had already sold the previous day. They sent several texts to confirm the appointment and never said the car was sold. Oil light, airbag check, check engine light. Then a tire went flat, they couldn't turn the steering wheel, now won't start at all. And they are STILL waiting on a title, after more than thirty days! SCAM ARTISTS - BUYERS BEWARE! Here's my story: This is a whole sale lot that takes local trade ins and does not do a pre purchase inspection on any of their vehicles. I was an out of state customer and nearly purchased a Chevy Colorado. I spent a week working with Carlos (salesman) who sent me photographs and a partial walk around video of the truck. The truck appeared clean and in solid condition overall, so we proceeded to the next step with a finance application to get pre-approved. They ran my credit and the numbers looked good, and we agreed in principle on terms of a loan. Carlos told me this truck belonged to Mr. Edwards the dealer owner and was basically stored in the garage and was well maintained. I purchased a refundable airline ticket to fly out, but was adamant that I wanted a 21 point inspection done to put my mind at ease prior to coming out. Carlos promised he could make that happened and said he would take the truck down the street to have the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic at APEX. All the sudden, days went by and Carlos' communication had fallen off. I constantly called the dealership throughout the week for an update on the inspection and Carlos had an excuse every time for why he was unable to get the truck in for an inspection. I also repeatedly asked Carlos about the condition of the tires on the truck and he avoided the category all together. I did some research an found an "Independent" mobile certified technician (Mudhollow Mobile Services) who agreed to conduct a pre-purchase inspection. They conducted an inspection on the morning of my flight out and told me the only issues were the truck needed new front tires and the A/C charged. It also needed an oil change and had "light body rust." Otherwise, the trust was in solid condition and was ready to rock and roll. Carlos told me that he would pick me up from Eppley Airfield in the truck, and my dad and I flew in. Upon arrival, Carlos drove his personal vehicle and picked us up. I asked him why he didn't drive the truck and he said he did not want to put more miles on it. Carlos also told a different story about the truck then what he initially told me when he said it belonged to the owner. This time he told us it was a workers maintenance truck that was driven between the other dealerships... This was very suspicious (Hindsight is always 20/20). We drove to Edwards Bargain Center from the airport and arrived at last. The truck was parked in front and my dad and I inspected the vehicle ourselves. We immediately noticed the truck had SIGNIFICANT rust on the rear driver's side between the cab and bed and was spreading all throughout the vehicle. It was HORRIBLE! We ran our hands across the back quarter panel and there were piles of metal shavings coming off the truck. This was purposely not documented in any of the photos and videos that Carlos and the technician took. It was never mentioned by Carlos or the technician at any point. This thing had cancer rust everywhere!!! Carlos denied that he knew the mechanic, but we have our suspicions that the guys at the dealership and the technicians know each other.. I mean it's a massive wholesale dealer in a small town. I strongly believe they work together to scam buyers; especially out of state. The lengths they went through to be deceitful with us and hide this damage in their photos and videos is unreal. Carlos had a sorry excuse and said it's not his job to get under the vehicle and document this stuff when he took a (partial) walk around video. What kind of sleezy and lazy salesman tells their customers that after they flew in from out of state???? There was no telling what other areas/blind spots were rusted and ready to cave. These vehicles, dealers, and technicians are scam artists and I highly encourage anyone to look elsewhere for a vehicle! I was fortunate enough to avoid a $14,000 mistake from these pricks and will be filing a complaint on their license in the state of Iowa. Buyers be smart, and avoid this dealer I promise you will be glad you did. read more

I bought a car on June 19th wrote a check which cleared my account on June 24th. Still have received the title on July 13th. Called about this on the 12th & was supposed to get a call back today but I didn't. I did find out on July 7th they sent the title in to get switched over to their name. Why they didn't do that two weeks earlier when my check cleared is beyond me! One lady rudely told me I would have it in the30 day time line which sounds like that's the canned answer she's been trained to give. My teenager needs the car to get to work & doesn't need to be traumatized by being pulled over for expired intransits. They did tell me they would cover any fees I incurred if that happened & it was a non moving violation. Again they apparently deal with this title issue on a regular basis. Worst car buying experience ever! The salesperson was fine but this is the aftermath. We've also replaced spark plugs, fixed the trunk button & now replacing an o-ring on the vehicle. read more
